This was a very soulful and heartfelt rendition of "Listen" by Morissette ❤, performed in 2018 during her concert with another Filipina great singer, Lani Misalucha, at the Theatre Solaire in the Philippines. She owned it, she slayed it! Because I think this song meant special for her. Ten years before this performance, in 2008, when she was 11, back in Cebu her hometown, she sang this same song "Listen" (original by Beyonce) as a side act for a Filipina celebrity visiting to promote some shows, and nobody seemed to be listening to her! All the crowd's attention was on the celebrity. Can you imagine yourself singing on a stage and no one seems to listen to you? And then you heard her story, about the doors that kept on closing for her. It must have been frustrating for an aspiring singer like her. But we're so glad she did not give up, but persevered and moved on, kept on improving herself and her skills and talent, and through her dedication, hard work and determination, she is now one of the most admired and loved artists, and an inspiration to other aspiring singers. After that performance in Cebu, ten years forward, in 2018, singing the same song "Listen", people are now listening to her! She is now the "Asia's Phoenix" 🔥, one of the greatest vocalists in the world in this generation.❤

That's why before she got the recognition and the love that she has now, she really worked so hard just to prove that she truly deserve her spot in this music industry. To be honest, every time I feel down, I always remember what she said here that a lot of doors might close along the process of finding your own path but that doesn't mean that it'll end there; you need to keep moving forward and use all those rejections as your own strength to keep moving forward 'til you attain what you desire. Her personality is just as great as her god-given talent. Both are amazing. ❤️

Hello SalvoG! Thank you so much for featuring Morissette performing the song "Listen" by Beyonce. I am one of those who recommended this to you, not only because it's by far the best cover I've heard of this song, but also because I would like for you to know Mori better. I'm glad that you understood her narration even though it was in Taglish (mixed Tagalog and English). As she said, she did not initially have this kind of success, as "doors were kept closing" on her, but because singing is her passion since her childhood (she actually began singing at age 3 in their karaoke machine), she became persistent and pursued her dreams, kept on joining as many singing contests as she could, that led to her being discovered by talent scouts. She also kept on improving her talent and skills. She previously did not do whistles and squeaks in her younger years, she only discovered that she could do them, and then honed them, so now she can easily do them at will when she wants to. Had she given up during those years when doors were closing, we would not have today a Morissette that is so amazingly talented and gifted and that we so dearly admire and loved "From the ashes of failures, she has risen to the challenges like the Phoenix that she is now widely known". Hence, she has embraced the title "Asia's Phoenix" given to her. 🔥❤️ For your next reaction, I suggest let's go back to the bus and watch Mori performs "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw" live on the Wish Bus. For me, this latest wishbus performance is in the league of the "greats" like "Akin Ka Na Lang", "Rise Up", and "Never Enough".
