Elon bootstrapped all his companies by whatever money he had, he is a one of a kind, meanwhile Altman got a blank check from Elon for OpenAI, with only moral and ethical restrictions. Since Altman could not come up with any other exceptional business (like Elon did several times) he decided to profit on this, thats it. Altman should have been thrown off OpenAI last November, and however it goes I hope Elon wins the lawsuit.

He convinced Elon to open OpenAI with him as an open source and nonprofit. Then he got Elon out since Sam wanted it to be closed source and for profit. It is clear that Sam is not trustworthy. Notice that all of his companies he had to pair up with someone else as the "co founder?" He doesn't have ideas or resources of his own so he ride the coat tails of others and stab them in the back. Elon cofounded PayPal and when the company was sold. He took most of the money and started other companies on HIS OWN with it.

Interesting comparison. Regardless of the merits of Altmans actions, and I do have issues with how he has conducted himself, it is Interesting to consider his perspective. Elon was his hero, gave him the opportunity of OpenAI, and is still someone Sam respects and looks up to. Yet Elon is constantly suing them, and is arguably the greatest threat/competitor to OpeanAI. It must be weird to have your hero as your enemy.

Fast forward to today, they are trying to pivot to a For-profit company, Elon is just suing them to remain as a Non-profit, not to halt there development or what so ever.
