What most NBA fans don't know is that Sam Cassell had solid composure, even as a rookie. He never looked flustered, made the right play and could hit clutch 3's and free throws when it counted. The Rockets were lucky to draft him.

When they traded Sam and Horry for Barkley, as nice as Barkley was they traded two major parts of the nucleus that brought those championships. Yes Seattle slaughtered them in 96, but they were not healthy, no where close. Had they gave them time to heal, we may have seen that Bulls/Rockets finals in 97 or 98 or both.

@waynebrady18194 ай бұрын
So let's look into the matter. OKC didn't exist back then. Opening Night was against the Nets not Golden State, Hakeem didn't have 38 points, it was 24. The Rockets didn't start the 93-94 season 19-0. It was 15-0 before they lost to Atlanta. While the preseason stats from that time aren't really documented, I found a New York Times article from that time. The Rockets were 2 wins and 3 losses at the time, so nowhere near 0-8. His first start wasn't against John Stockton and Utah. It was a game against Chicago which he finished with 3 points. He has won 4 games in a row as a starter not 5. Kenny Smith has won 9 games in a row not 8. In said game against Orlando, even though he swears, he didn't have 16 points in a row he only had 14 points the entire game. I mean is anything in that interview true?
