Join the club. It's a rather large one. I've been thru the ringer! Here's the thing, Danielle ( my name is Danielle too) before you even go out or talking to a guy whose interested, PRAY about it. Trust your intuition. God speaks to us through that. I wouldn't even consider dating a non believer & these days many are saying their Christian. Alot. I had a few suitors posing as believers because they thought I was pretty. What also got me in hot water was premarital sex. Yikes! That will wreak havoc in the relationship. Try and focus on the Lord. Let Him heal past hurts. Dive into the word and stay connected to a good church fellowship. Very important! Help others too. Feed the sheep.

My gosh, when you started talking about purity in terms of what a person decides to consume media wise, it reminded of how disturbed I was witnessing my dad watch the most disgustingly violent, sex filled shows and movies and then be up on the pulpit on Sundays. It still bugs me to this day. Subconsciously I try to stay away from guys like that when I’m dating. You know what’s really tough for me? Finding a Christian who doesn’t curse. It’s really such a turn off, especially since I don’t curse at all.

Hi Sophia! Sadie here. I have been in your shoes when it comes to looking for a guy who doesn’t cuss. I remember being in tears telling my dad that there were no good guys left and that they all cussed, partied, etc. It felt like all of the godly guys had been taken already. But God is faithful! I promise there are still good guys out there! ♥️

Hey guys. As a single christian man, I just want to know I like your videos because I think there is a lot of sincerity in them. However, I think you guys left out something important in the fact that everyone needs to stop trying to find the perfect person. It's because there is only one and that man is Jesus. Yes you want a guy or a girl that is a christian and strives for those things, but you also need to look at how they respond when they sin. Do they continue to fight or do they stumble? Proverbs 24:16 "for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes." I know I have no room to talk cause I'm single, but this point was brought up by my pastor, who was a former SBC President. So I think this point has some credibility.

I got the same impression from this video, it's sooooo important for both spouses to be self-driven to pursue holiness. But this video leans too hard towards "Well here are the things the Bible states men should strive towards, so obviously a woman should find a man who already has everything together in all of these areas."
@samandsadie
@samandsadie Жыл бұрын
Hi Samuel! Sadie here- Since Sam & I have implied in previous videos that no one is perfect when it comes to relationships, we thought it was implied in the video that no one will perfectly possess all of these attributes. Everyone stumbles and falls short, like you said! When I made the point in the video that a man could be on the trajectory towards those characteristics, it was meaning that 1. He’s not perfect but 2. He is striving to be a better follower of Christ throughout his life. If someone named a whole list of qualities that a Christian woman ought to be like, I wouldn’t possess all of those qualities because I am not perfect either.. But I can hope that through sanctification God has transformed me more in the years to come. Hope that makes sense! Great comment and God bless!

Can you do a video in this series about the confusion between gender roles ? I just went on a date with a man, and we have a lot in common and the same faith and could communicate well but he isn’t masculine at all. Very very sensitive (more than me) in a very stressful to deal with kind of way. Of course Jesus was gentle but he also threw over the table and cast out those selling in his father’s house.. Jesus was not a “sissy”. It’s hard as a Christian woman to sort through how to deal with this kind of situation. I feel like spirituality is most important that comes from a relationship with the Lord, but I also feel like I want someone who could physically protect me if needed or change a tire or work hard and not be weary after only working 3 days a week. I wanted to go on a date to see how I felt in person because I did enjoy our phone conversations but I immediately didn’t feel any chemistry romantically and could never see him as more than a friend and I think the world pushing men down and women to be the “boss babe” has caused a lot of confusion. I want to be led by my husband God has for me and I don’t want to feel I have to try to take that role over because it isn’t being filled. Sorry this is so long but I am curious if you guys have a view point on this.

The purity aspect resonates with me. It’s been a struggle for me, and I think that’s why I try to advocate for it so openly. But I’ve started backing off because I’ve been mocked or humiliated or avoided for trying to communicate how crucial it is, and share my deep-rooted desire for it. The intentionality aspect also struck a chord with me; I long for somebody I can just talk openly with and who isn’t going to leave me in my guesswork, while maintaining good boundaries and not being rash. Thank you for the encouragement that there are guys like that out there :) God bless you!

I am probably going to discuss something you don't hear very often, but I live single and celibate by choice. My experience when trying to have sexual relations was very negative, and I quickly learned celibacy was my best option. Once freed from any desire for sex I no longer sought dating or establishing a relationship. I can work, cook, workout, pursue my hobbies, travel, and worship without the entanglement of messy and time consuming relationships! The Apostle Paul was right...the unmarried believers are concerned about how to please the Lord and their interests are not divided. I know my view is not the norm, but I often hear Christians say they had become so content in Christ they didn't seek out a spouse, but then someone came along and they got married. That will not be my life. Single and celibate forever! God bless...

You have to figure out what's important to you. God gave you desires and things that attract you to in order for you to seek out a compatible mate. I agree first and foremost on the list is their relationship with Christ but not every person out there is going to be a super Christian and those that would fall under that category might not be compatible with your wants in other areas. I knew of a married couple that were both very strong Christians but the wife hated sex. That was a problem for the husband. I know that for the longest time the mantra of most churches was to quote the passage in Peter which says that the outward appearance was not what was important but that passage must be taken in context and with perspective. It was not talking about intimate relationships between men and women. Just as it said in 1 Samuel about God choosing David for King of Israel he was looking for a king not trying to hook someone up with a partner.

Don’t say such things about yourself and discredit your whole being like that. It isn’t fair to you cause you are more than a relationship. God created you with a bigger purpose than that. A relationship is supposed to complement us not complete us. Our identity is only defined in God and completed in him alone. Don’t give up hope and faith in God. Everything will happen when it is meant to be. God will do the impossible for you. I pray that God gives you hope and more faith in him to seek him first and give you the desires of your heart. I pray you find a Godly wife and you strive to have the qualities of Godly man too. Reminder none of these attributes appear from thin air we have work on them as individual both as a female and male to be the best versions of what God has called us to be. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Even if things don’t happen according to the desires of our heart, it doesn’t mean we are losers or not wanted it just means God has a different directions for our lives and that is okay too. Be strong you got this. That is why we are daily sanctified to be like Jesus Christ and sometimes we will fall short but we don’t give up we just pick up our cross daily asking God to give us more of his strength. The enemy loves to use our weakest point and get us down when we allow for that gap to be created between us and God, especially when we forget to lean on God constantly in the difficult times we come across and lose faith…that is why it is important to not give the enemy the benefit of the doubt and not lose sight of our most important relationship which is with God first. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Sam and Sadie when they were talking about these attributes they had wanted to see in their Godly spouse weren’t just only desiring for their significant other to have these traits but they also as an individual had to have the same expectations and attributes they were actively seeking for and actively work on them themselves. It isn’t a one side thing. Your future wife is also maybe struggling just like you so don’t feel alone that you can’t automatically get to where you want to get. That is why I encourage you to pray for your future wife to possess the good qualities you want in a Godly women just as you also strive to have the qualities of a Godly man that she wants. That is how it should be. We are all on our own unique journey and God’s timing for our journey isn’t too early, too late, but just perfect in timing don’t forget that. I know most of us feel the same way so you aren’t alone in this season of singleness. I hope and pray you are encouraged by this message. Remember this verse always when you feel down- Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”💜🙏

Ahhh it's too complicated. My mind is struggling to understand relationships. In my church guy led by example, preached, sang and so on He proposed 17!!!! Times to different women, almost as if he not cared to who he gets married to, now he is married of course, but he is nowhere to be seen in church as far as preaching or singing, often times I don't even see him. And then there are the cool guys that get married and then end up in divorce cause their wives were actually decent but they figured out too late to whom they got married. And then there is rich folks, both men and women that come from rich families. I remember asking two girls out like that, they are pretty cool in terms of being women of God, always at church and serving as Sunday teachers but they never if had decency to reply. So they got married to rich guys or should I say their daddy's pocket. I might be wrong and they are decent guys, but not even a reply makes me wonder what their priorities were. And then I had two girls who I talked to and it seemed like they were opened to date, later on I find out one of them got engaged in a month the other one in 6 months. I'm just confused have I gone crazy with the world and does that mean I should of straight away asked a girl to marry me withing 6 months, or should I go rob a bank in order to get rich I'm no preacher, and I can't be one. But I used to play the guitar and sing. Always at church. Now tbh go maybe twice a month. But the point is it's all just a big question. I think it's either nent to be or not There is no right or wrong way to get the guy or girl of your dreams. I actually start to wonder if The One even exists. I think you just go with flow like everybody else unfortunately. Minimal effort and just eh it is what it is

People aren't perfect though. Perhaps find someone that "sins boldly" meaning they own their sin, they don't minimize it or hide it, they see Christ as the answer TO it. If im being totally honest with myself, I dont fully live up to any of the things you guys talked about. And depending on who you ask, my reputation is either really good or really bad. I heard nothing in this video about grace, forgiveness, sanctification or Christ making us a new creation. If youre looking for absolute perfection, you will not find it on this side of heaven but you will probably become a very judgmental Christian.

@christopherram8948 that's the result of married couples, especially ones who got lucky and married in their early twenties thinking they have a right to lecture the rest of us who never get victory in anything or have never been desired or wanted by anyone so we spend our lives "burning with lust" and being gaslighted into thinking we're idolizing marriage because we want it and since we're alone we can't quote unquote "relieve ourselves because it's a sin. Even though we're born with this physical need. Some of us born with a high sex drive too so it's even more difficult. We're told it's a "season of waiting or singleness" or an any other such nonsense phrase. These couples try to claim they know what it's like but the longest they waited for was 9 times out of 10 a couple months. A few short months is nothing compared to literal years or decades. Thing is I can't take these types of videos seriously because they truly do not know what it's like or how it feels to be forced to live with an unfulfilled desire and never getting to experience the joy that comes with it. They'll and others will say "you got Jesus" or "Jesus can fulfill every need." While that's true to an extent, there's certain needs or desires that those claims don't fill. So we have no choice but to put up with it because there's nothing else we can do.
