Maybe in some other show, La_trolette. But this is sex&city, stuff like this is normal. If, lets say, in Law&Order there was a filler scene but with men involved where we here see women, yeah, it would be bad because it has no sense to the story, it is just showing men ogling a hot chick. But in a series like sex&city even men acting like that would be okay because these bitches do it all the time. It is a bitchy type of series. But yeah, there was nothing classy about paying the dinner for the woman with whom you were competing for THAT ONE LIMITED EDITION DICK.

The sequel is doomed from the beginning without Kim Catrall. You can see from season 1 that she was writers favourite character. She got the best lines and watched from todays point of view, she had the absolute best character arc. Because she is a strong, independent women in charge of her own business and she knows exactly who she is. She doesn't need a man to be complete like Carrie, who in my opinion was always the weakest of all, despite being the main character. I will never forget when she broke up with Smith, saying she loves him but loves herself more. THAT is strength and THAT is true feminism for me. To feel complete with yourself and not being dependent on someone else.

I love Samantha's savoir-faire. She almost always handled situations gracefully and adroitly in the series, even when she was caught in a compromising position with a society leader's husband. (One of the many reasons I hated the badly-written movies: nearly all of the series' characters were reduced to low caricatures, including making Samantha a strident harpy lacking in common sense and cultural awareness. Her purse-dropping blow-up in the Abu Dhabi souq was excruciatingly contrary to the savvy Samantha of the tv series.) This scene captures Samantha's charm and humor beautifully.

Black Piper I don't think men have a problem with being objectified. It's not like for women, a man surrounded by women lusting after him will not feel uneasy, embarrassed, or even in danger, he will probably enjoy the attention, probably never cease to feel he is in a position of power. We don't because there's an underlying knowledge that we are not in a position of power, and eventually not even safe.

Black Piper, of course it is possible find occurrences where what you suggest would be true, but I think it is reasonable to assume that it would not be the majority of the cases.
