You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned ‘maintaining’ hedgerows. The eco warriors think the countryside will be better once it’s been rewilded. When will people realise that if you just leave things to nature, the dominant weeds take over rather than leaving wild flower meadows. The country needs managing and maintaining and that’s what farmers and responsible land owners have been doing for years? Keep up the good work 😊

You probably need to start cutting low down, so the higher branches fall clear of the hedge. Much safer than a chainsaw and man basket.

Hi Joe, hope you are well. That is some bit of kit that you have, and my GOD it does amazing job and it's well able to cut threw alot of branches and even some of the big ones. As the saying goes joe it cuts threw like a hot knife threw butter. I think every farmer should have one. Keep up the good work joe.

@joeseels Hi Joe ya, you would be week's at it with a chainsaw joe, and you wouldn't get far with a chainsaw anyways. As you probably know yourself when your working with a chainsaw you would be tired holding for a while. Where's with the Samasz saw bade you would get a lot done in a few hours and would not be tired, and you would actually love working it everyday. It's actually therapeutic just watching and listening to the blades whining and how quickly they can cut threw the branches.

A job I used to do contracting back in the 70s, with a fordson supermajor fitted a foster arm, an econ mower pump and 1 metre wide saw blades, could take Hawthorn hedges off at "stocking tops" 12" thick...

It's like a blast from the past, I remember when I was a kid, back when dinosaurs roamed the land, the farm my father worked on, as herd manager, the had two dairy herds and cereals, they had one of those new fangled😁 flail hedge cutters, they also had a circular blade one that fitted on a fordson power major which was the one my father used, often me when I was big enough to reach the peddles, to carry out some of the cutting,, now they seem to be making a come back

@@alanroygbiv yes I remember seeing g a picture but never seen one being used, not sure what make the one they use to use on the old fordson, remember apart of the frame was bolted to engine/ gearbox and was on middle rather than rear

@@StanleyWareham bit dangerous from what I saw (many years ago) this was a head that could be instead of the flail head, when it caught on a biggish timber, it would really rock the tractor!!!

@@alanroygbiv was only a kid when they used it but do remember my my father forbidding us to go anywhere near where they were using it and that was a time when we were use to roaming all over the farm, also from what I remember the guard that was used would be a health and safety nightmare now
