2021 Tuned BMW M5 Comp vs Mercedes Benz E63S Tuned. Drag and Roll Race.

There has never, ever been a time where I expect an E 63s to beat a M5 comp in a drag race both stock and tuned. Rarely does it happen.

It's common sense. The f90 is much lighter (250+ lbs) have more power (close to 640 to the wheels stock) uses larger turbo's that pushes out close to 25. psi from a 4.4 lit v8 compared to AMG 17 psi. 4.0 v8. The f90 is a much newer platform and Mercedes haven't touched the w213 e63s since 2017 spec wise. So idk why it's a surprise to people that the lighter more powerful car wins in a drag race. Just the fact that the w213 e63s can still compete with the f90 is good.

@@henzo7087 once again be quiet. Have you ever owned either car? If you really believe it’s only 25 horsepower difference between the two cars then you believe anything BMW says. If Mercedes wanted the w213 e63s to be as powerful as the f90 m5 cp they could of done it by simply giving the m177 engine in the e63s the same turbos that it is in the gt63s. The gt63s has the same size turbos that are in the f90, that is why the gt63s has 640hp. But Mercedes wanted the gt63s to be the top of the line sports sedan in the AMG line up. That’s why Mercedes never gave the w213 e63s more power, they were not purposely competing directly with the f90 m5 cp but was more worried about stepping on their own toes by not letting the e63s being faster than the AMG gt63s. The power difference between the f90 and w213 e63s is larger than 25 horsepower. Imagine the w213 e63s with the turbos that the gt63s has weighting 300 lbs lighter than the gt63s, stock for stock and mod of mod the e63s would easily be faster than the f90. But that wasn’t Mercedes goal, to make the e63s faster than the f90. Only fanboys care about that.

​@@salninethousand2496Unless you get a TCU tune and CPC tune also, the transmission cuts the power on tuned AMG's. From a roll is where you can use the power without a TCU tune. It's so much torque with a tune, the transmission just bogg down from a dig.

Try running the car with broken battery and see how that BMW performs. It will be considerably slower than the E63S because the engine is inferior despite it has slightly larger displacement. Even with that battery cheat on the M5 it will not be any faster than the E63S at 100 mph. The E63S will start to inch on the M5 Competition past that speed and at greater speed (120 and up) the E63S will pull on the M5 Competition. And by the way that E63S tune wasn't working. Yeah & rumors are the upcoming 2025 all new M5 will have the 740hp version straight from the XM Red Label, and the competition version will have this engine but dialed up way over 800+ hp to beat the 843 hp in the AMG GT 63S E Performance..whether someone likes BMW or not, think we can safely say that based on these races, an 850+hp twin turbo v-8 hybrid assist next generation M5 w/all the latest transmission & aero and tire technology will make even this tuned M5 competition seem slow...cars are getting ridiculously fast...and even though I don't like EV's that much, we've gotta admit that the new Lucid Sapphire w/its 1200+hp triple electric motors is insanely fast also..I'd rather have a hybrid anyway though so we can still hear the ICE engine..Porsche is working hard on synthetic gas so as to make it possible to keep producing ICE engines for decades longer w/very very little pollution compared to normal gas...plus its even higher octane so more performance...but will be pricey...

Not sure if it’s similar to the M340i, but if you hold the upshift, immediately followed by the downshift, and then let go of both, it will put you into Sport Auto mode, so you don’t need to shove the shift lever back to the right. It will automatically place your in Sport Auto.

I counted 14 car lengths between front bumper of benz and rear of M5. Fyi folks, as IE, 1 car length is benz front bumper barely even with rear bumper of M5. (I dont know why people think the air gap of 16 ft is one car, thats actually two cars gap. Honestly I do not think the Benz was even making its stock 604 hp in the standing starts at the end of video. Heat soak badly, likely 550 hp by the time the dig-drags came up.

E63s does 3.2 seconds and 1/4 mile at 11.3 stock form. There’re must be something wrong with the tune or the person doesn’t know how to drive. E63s with stage w tune can easily hit 10.7 seconds.

And to think that the next C63S weighs almost 200lb more than this E63S with 90hp less! The M5 Comp definitely has the more responsive transmission. The E63S sounds like it falls slightly out of its powerband with each shift and/or is not making the power it says. We'll soon see what AMG cooks up for the next E63. HP will be starting with 7 (I'm estimating 720-750).

It is indeed amazing that with an old-fashioned torque converter transmission, F90 M5 can launch off the line even faster than those equipped with dual clutch and multiple clutch transmissions. It is also strange that both cars though being tuned, are slower than their stock counterparts!! (10.8 s M5, 11.4 s E63 S)!!!! It seems that stock ones can launch better!!!

Both cars are between 2.8 sec to 3.1 sec 0-60, and at 60 mph thats about one bumper 2ft ahead of the other vehicles same bumper. This M5 was like 2 full cars ahead by 65 mph here. Def something not right.
