I’m actually partial to the XC40 Recharge. Although the relatively middling range isn’t great (but driving 90% in town commuting that’s not a big deal). Oh, and I like Apple Maps - hasn’t led me astray and the voice prompts actually come in time to get ready whereas I’ve found google maps to tell me turn too late, as in already passed the exit.

Mach E is worth a shout. I know its in a diff class, but since u bring up EV6. Compared to BMW IX which is crazy priced, Q4 is a very competitive car. Wish 0-60 was sub 5 seconds. Merc is so behind the curve in EV. In terms of size, is it comparable to Q5?

Audi loaned me the Q4 for a day and I’m a nobody. I went for a test drive in the morning. Loved it, but wasn’t super stoked with the idea of going from no car payment to a payment. They asked if I wanted to drive the car for the rest of the day. I said “why not.” I started at 100% battery and got it down to about 70% so I could experience charging it for a few minutes. Brought it back 7 hours later and after signing for about 30 minutes, it became mine. If they hadn’t loaned me the car for the whole day I probably wouldn’t have bought it. I got to experience “life” with it. Picked my son up from school, ran an errand, parked it in the garage. They knew what they were doing. They’re practically giving these away in the US.

I saw one of these at an AUDI dealership here in Southern California. Sticker price is $60,110 USD. I think the range is 244 miles. Too short of a distance for a $60K car. I was impressed when I first saw it, until I saw the eTron S Sportback $97,000 USD, a larger variant of this Q4 eTron Sporback. The range on the eTron S Sportback is 214....LOL. No way am I buying an Audi when Tesla can offer longer drive ranges close to 373 miles for the Model S.

It's amazing to me that automakers are offering inferior tech, range, and engineering for the same amount or more than a Tesla. Why would anyone who isn't a diehard brand enthusiast want to buy something that offers less but costs the same or more? Sure, the interiors are nicer, but aside from some tricks and treats, what else are they offering?
@dapperlygrungy31892 жыл бұрын
@@DescartesRenegade Here's the sad of the matter. EV's are virtually maintenance-free. Service is a huge money maker for car dealerships. Audi is charging, according to an owner of an Audi EVn eTron S Sportback, $380 for a tire rotation and brake flush...LOL. A brake flush on a gas car is $50. A tire rotation $20. Just because it has an Audi brand, they want people to think it still costs to maintain EV's like a gas car. They will find anything and everything to nickel and dime consumers on unnecessary EV service.

@@DescartesRenegade Audi is charging approx. $380 on a brake flush and tire rotation, according to a youtuber on his eTron. On a gas car a brake flush costs approx. $50 and a tire rotation costs $20. Electric cars are great but technology is really behind. Winter time these cars can't travel far. Friend of mine got Tesla X, Toronto to Montreal in Winter took him just under 12 hours to reach. On Full charge it could travel only 200 Kilometers before he had to charge it and it takes longer to charge too in Winter. Until they can get these cars to go 1000KM and charge under 30 minutes. NO way I would ever buy an electric car. No matter how fancy they make them.

Common Audi, you can do better; with just 218 miles of range and no fast charging option. Better options are available in the market; Audi Q4 E-Tron offers only "promises".
@lorenzmuller40002 жыл бұрын
No fast charging? 0-80% in 30 minutes is not considered fast charging? I definitely have to sell my Model 3 in that case. The Q4 e-Tron is very impressive, similar range as the Model Y with a more luxurious interior. It’s also V2G and V2H capable.
@SharedMFamily2 жыл бұрын
@@lorenzmuller4000 Some vehicles are capable of 0-80% in less than 20 mins. A similar range of Model Y? Am I reading numbers wrong? Audi is only capable of 218 EPA mileage
@lorenzmuller40002 жыл бұрын
@@SharedMFamily I know only one car in this price class that is capable of 0-80% in less than 20 min and that is the KIA EV6 and it only works under perfect conditions (-> coldgate, rapidgate, etc…). And that the EPA numbers are not comparable at all is not a secret, Tesla uses a different test cycle to get the EPA range. The Taycan also had a very low EPA range but crushed it in the real world. While WLTP is too generous, it’s great for comparisons, because the test cycle is always the same. The Model Y is advertised with 533km (331.19 miles) and the Q4 e-Tron sportback with 542km (336.78 miles).
@almac92032 жыл бұрын
@@lorenzmuller4000 I believe Edmunds publish real world figures for most popular EVs. The real world figures show Tesla overstate their figures whereas many manufacturers understate the range. The real world range is a lot closer than the EPA figures would suggest.
