Alex this video was extremely healing for me. My whole life because of lack of same sex affection i subscribed to living a gay lifestyle. 6 years ago I came out of that and in the process of healing God has put me in healthy male relationships where same sex affection is a huge part and its not perverted or weird and its become one of the most healing aspects of my journey. Thank you so much for talking about this from the bottom of my heart thank you.

Yo I'll say this. I've had a friend for 30 years we grew up together. We had sleep overs and would sleep in the same bed. I tell this man I love him Everytime we talk. I hug him and I've cried to this man. This is what you would call a best friend. I've never had any sexual attraction to him and he wasn't to me. People think we are gay. We are not. Appreciate this being expressed.. I think it's an extremely timely topic with how things are these days. I'm a guy who "feels" deeply, and always has, and have been blessed with deep relationships from an early age and I noticed after college or so people would find those close relationships out of the ordinary, and that was weird to me. Watching this made a lot of what I felt clear. Honestly I don't think people have many deep relationships at all these days, let alone with same sex relationships. With a sex-first, talk later approach to relationships, having any kind of depth to a relationship, as we've seen, you get people trying to make it out to be something suspicious. It's sad because there is so much to be had in a deep friendship. I'd like to see that made normal again.

It's absolutely true! I'm 22 now, but when I was younger, especially when Glee aired, seeing same-sex attraction gave me a weird feeling. I wasn't homophobic--as that bothered me ppl would really have such intense hate--but I knew even as a kid w/o ever being told by anyone that same sex attraction wasn't right. Over the years, I subscribed to the culture and even thought I was gay or anything but straight, ashamed to think I was straight. It was the most confusing and regressive point of my life, cos I felt I didn't have an identity cos I couldn't choose my "flavor" of sexuality. And this is huge on social media, like Pinterest. I like to look at fandom art among other cool pins, but almost every fandom post has someone either "simp-ing" or "I'm so gay for her" or even their usernames being telling. Our culture is literally warping this generation's minds on sexual orientation and attraction at a very young age. This was a very good, and most needed video and I'm so glad I've found your channel. You inspire me to take living this life more seriously and w/ a sound biblical mind that can discern this stuff! Thanks

Growing up I felt a lot of pain from the idea of being gay When I was small I was raped by a women and assumed after that I either had to enjoy that company (which hurt because I never actually felt that way despite feeling I HAD to) and after that I found it very hard to get close to my female friends because I assumed (and still am dealing with the effects of) everything came down to sex I will say some characters mentioned where actually written gay but you have a point that people want to force it more due to it being popular and under represented. It does genuinely hurt relationships that we believe if we act too affectionate that that means we are interested- even with my male friend I had to stop saying I love him (which I do he is amazing) because people were assuming we were dating and I didn’t want that We aren’t allowed to show affection and have deep relationships without the whole world needing to say “hey look they are dating” and it breaks my heart- I spent so long keeping people at an arms length due to fear of them assuming I’m gay that I missed out on so much even know I fear writing this comment because someone could easily say I’m just in the closest and it’s horrible So anyway just thanks for saying something and I’m surprised that only 48% of people said that affection and attraction are different things (at least when I took the quiz) Continue to be radical like Jesus

Young boys don't understand that they can desire close male bonds and not be homosexual. It's confusing even for them. I think the reason people think Luca is about being gay isn’t because they’re good friends. It’s because of the metaphor with the sea monsters and coming out. Actually by the end of the movie it’s obvious that Luca and Alberto aren’t dating they were just close friends because they related to each other and had that same secret. And people think the metaphor with sea monsters and not wanting people to know who you truly are combined with the movie coming out during Pride month is a strong sign that it’s about coming out.

@@nyx9168 yeah. As a Christian, it’s important to remember that Christ told us not to “be of this world.” It’s a good moral compass for me personally, if the world (media, mega corporations, government, etc.) are pushing something, I look to the Bible and it’ll show that God speaks out against such things pretty much every time. Even after all this time, the Bible remains relevant, highlighting how it is the truth. The only reason I mention relevance is because previously being a non-believer, I viewed it as an old book and nothing more. But the words spoken in the Bible being relevant today show that God is indeed real and it helped bring me back to Christ.

Wow this is such an important conversation. I’ve never really meditated on this much but it’s a crucial topic to unpack. And though both women and men are affected, men, especially, are really damaged by this. It completely wrecks their ability to have affectionate, deep relationships with other males. Not just peers, but with their male children or other male children, lest someone call them a paedophile. But that affection and connection between young boys and fathers, or father figures, is so important. And then as those boys get older they often pull away and detach as they become more conscious and aware of this cultural perception as well. Us women don’t really have that issue. And in my experience our close friendships aren’t as suspect or questioned. I need more of this conversation!! And solutions!! Thanks for bringing this up!! Bless you

Wow this is wrecking me. Makes me think my same-sex attraction is a distortion built upon the foundation of an extreme lack of same-sex affection over way too many years. Dang this hits deep.

A lot of men get into gay culture because they crave male approval and connections and they can get immediately approval by making themselves sexually available. Faster and easier than a friendship that they have no way to know how to make.

@@toomanymarys7355 i don't know any straight guy that is part of gay culture. I know gay people who live a double life though.

I relate HEAVY to this. My whole life has been one big sexuality rollercoaster. Like if you're not a gangster or talk a certain way then you're gay blah blah blah

So good! Thanks for taking on topics like this. I have often thought about this and you said it so well. May God repair the bond that can be between men.
