I hug him and I've cried to this man. This is what you would call a best friend. I've never had any sexual attraction to him and he wasn't to me. People think we are gay. We are not. Over the years, I subscribed to the culture and even thought I was gay or anything but straight, ashamed to think I was straight. It was the most confusing and regressive point of my life, cos I felt I didn't have an identity cos I couldn't choose my "flavor" of sexuality. And this is huge on social media, like Pinterest. I like to look at fandom art among other cool pins, but almost every fandom post has someone either "simp-ing" or "I'm so gay for her" or even their usernames being telling. You inspire me to take living this life more seriously and w/ a sound biblical mind that can discern this stuff! Thanks

Great video, as a military member you develop lifelong friendships that includes affection and love, because you have to be willing to give you life for your friends and sacrifice everything for them. It has nothing to do with same sex attraction just deep friendship/brotherhood. Society corrupts viewpoints, John 15:13 is how we should have friendships

Growing up I felt a lot of pain from the idea of being gay When I was small I was raped by a women and assumed after that I either had to enjoy that company (which hurt because I never actually felt that way despite feeling I HAD to) and after that I found it very hard to get close to my female friends because I assumed (and still am dealing with the effects of) everything came down to sex I will say some characters mentioned where actually written gay but you have a point that people want to force it more due to it being popular and under represented. It does genuinely hurt relationships that we believe if we act too affectionate that that means we are interested- even with my male friend I had to stop saying I love him (which I do he is amazing) because people were assuming we were dating and I didn’t want that We aren’t allowed to show affection and have deep relationships without the whole world needing to say “hey look they are dating” and it breaks my heart- I spent so long keeping people at an arms length due to fear of them assuming I’m gay that I missed out on so much even know I fear writing this comment because someone could easily say I’m just in the closest and it’s horrible So anyway just thanks for saying something and I’m surprised that only 48% of people said that affection and attraction are different things (at least when I took the quiz) Continue to be radical like Jesus

I also just watched Luca today fully knowing what people where saying about it and after I watched it I thought to myself these are just two boys that have a very strong friendship that they care about one another very much, I just had to watch it with an open view and not just jump to conclusions. Alot of people are interpreting the movie as gay because it does show parallels to the queer experience, for instance Luca parents trying to send Luca far away (convertion therapy), the need for Luca to hide who he is in the town, and the ending when the Grandma said " not many will accept him, but he knows how to find those that do"

This message is needed. I wish there was message like this for Young boys telling them it's okay to have Young make friends and not be homosexual. Young boys don't understand that they can desire close male bonds and not be homosexual. It's confusing even for them. I have had a young boy tell me he didn't have sexual desire or feelings for boys but he really enjoyed talking with boys more than girls ( normal for his age) so he felt that he must want a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend.

I love this! Because I always found it strange that everytime I had a female best friend and we would spend all our time together and hug that it would be seen by others as gay. They would say we were lesbians or assume we were together in a relationship and I was always confused because I'm like this is just my friend! I may or may not have had a boyfriend at the time but I feel like without that, why can't I just be close to my best friend? What is wrong with our society to where it normal to question if every relationship is gay...

That was great and we'll spoken. I'm called "ole school" by younger boys and men because they see exactly where I stand with the very something you've mentioned. I don't know how we can turn that around because I feel crime and self hate would disappear if everyone could be truly honest and share their feelings and love each other as brothers and or neigjbors, but unfortunately there's a spirit that has lied and deceived the majority of the youth today that yoiu can't hug, you can't say I love you, can't express when we're hurting and need help from another male. Black male which I am has loss this affection due to corrupted learn behavior that was installed into them and now it's where the only expression that they think is natural is to attack, kill and destroy each other. We should all know who has possessed those motives from the beginning of time Everyone please pray daily for our race to get back on track and understand who we really are in the eyes of GOD. Amen 🙏

I remember I was on the playground in 4th grade and I had linked arms with my 2 besties and skipped around with them arm in arm. Later that day I found out that there were some other girls trying to spread a rumor that we were gay. I wasnt very affectionate with to begin with but from that point on I was even more conscious about how I showed affection toward my friends. Though it turns out that the girl that started the rumor had "come out" later in high school.

Very very well put, especially when you described how it's affecting relationships today, where friendships are essential to life, not just significant others and while single people wait to meet their spouse they need friends a long with friends but it seems like friends usually push away for the assumption of sexuality when you really just need someone to connect to

@BennettParsons13 жыл бұрын
@@nyx9168 yeah. As a Christian, it’s important to remember that Christ told us not to “be of this world.” It’s a good moral compass for me personally, if the world (media, mega corporations, government, etc.) are pushing something, I look to the Bible and it’ll show that God speaks out against such things pretty much every time. Even after all this time, the Bible remains relevant, highlighting how it is the truth. The only reason I mention relevance is because previously being a non-believer, I viewed it as an old book and nothing more. But the words spoken in the Bible being relevant today show that God is indeed real and it helped bring me back to Christ.

Affectionate friendships are not things that need to be justified. I’ve hugged my male friends, kissed them on their cheeks, walked side by side with my arm wrapped around them, and I don’t owe anyone outside of that interaction an explanation. If this person is someone that I love, and we have a relationship that allows us to express that with more than verbal affection, we don’t need permission to do that.
@lucindathefaithful75993 жыл бұрын
Thank you SO much for this video. This needed to be said badly for a long time. This confusion with affection and attraction has really been bothering me for years and I never knew how to explain it. It really sucks that being compassionate same sex friends is always labeled as being gay. So everyone thinks and makes everything gay when it actually isn’t. They are teaching children that (like you said) we can’t show affection towards the same sex without being gay. Which is very toxic. Just because everyone accepts gay people now, that doesn’t mean everyone wants to BE gay. Whenever two male protagonists ever appear in screen, people immediately start shipping them. Like being bros is not even a possibility anymore. People view male friendships as “boring” now so they automatically want to make them gay for it to be “more interesting.” People do this with straight people too and it’s very sad. Why is no one allowed to be friends anymore? Why does everything have to lead to sex? And the part about how society is so selfish that they need to have something out of a relationship like sex is exactly right. That’s where this “friends with benefits” came to be. Selfish people. Being just friends or having a real relationship with the person wasn’t good enough for them so they needed sex out of it. Smh. And yes, society is most definitely pressuring people to be gay. Confusing them into thinking their affection for their best friend means sexual attraction. I bet at least 40-50% of people who come out as gay now were pressured into it and confused affection for attraction. So many people are coming out as gay now, it doesn’t even seem like accurate numbers. I also blame porn being heavily shoved in people’s faces everywhere you look for a reason people turn “gay”. It’s pretty much forced and pressured on them to be gay now because it’s “cool” or “trendy” and so incredibly accepted. If they’re actually truly gay, fine, but most of the people I see appear to be faked, forced. and blinded. And then they continue to be blinded because everyone starts encouraging them and saying what they’re feeling is true without even knowing the person’s relationship. Smh I really am disappointed with society nowadays. Makes me anxious to even make other female friends because they could confuse friendship for attraction…

I worked so hard for about 20 years to help my brother recognize that what I have for him is an affection that our father had for us, both our passed away worldly father and our father in heaven. I never gave up no matter how many times. He never ran away from me either. I’m blessed for that. And now we can talk about anything together. He shares things with me he wouldn’t share with anyone. Cause he knows that when he talks with me he’s talking with me and the Father in heaven. And the same grace and forgiveness our Savior Jesus Christ has allowed for God to gift to me, I pass onward to my brother.

I think the reason people think Luca is about being gay isn’t because they’re good friends. It’s because of the metaphor with the sea monsters and coming out. Actually by the end of the movie it’s obvious that Luca and Alberto aren’t dating they were just close friends because they related to each other and had that same secret. And people think the metaphor with sea monsters and not wanting people to know who you truly are combined with the movie coming out during Pride month is a strong sign that it’s about coming out.
