People care more about the songs that a singer popularizes than his/her actual voice. Jennifer isn't as big as Beyonce because Beyonce's songs are way more popular. The more popular songs you have, the more recognition you get.

I'm so glad we got a JHud analysis! She is so underated, but the minute you need a girl that can sing her ass off you can be damn sure they gonna pick the phone and call HER. So excited to see her as Aretha! Sam, thank you for your videos. I don't have any formal training but I love to sing, even if I'm limited in my range and technique. I deeply enjoy musicals so I cant help but sing around whatever song of Wicked, Phantom of the Opera or Chicago I've been thinking. Your videos have helped me understand a lot stuff about singing, and even if I say so myself, I feel improvement. I really love the way you get happy and excited about music, I like to think that everybody has something to be that excited about. Also: "That´s a sentence... right?" Is a mood for 2020.

Sam, I am so grateful you keep putting these videos out, even when you feel like you're repeating yourself. Repetition is part of what teachers do. 😉 I was a band kid that sang in church choir. So I never had the benefit of voice lessons. I just could open my mouth and sing. Life happened and my participation in any music stopped for 25 years, besides singing in the car and shower. Well, now I'm singing at church again, but my voice is not the voice I remember, and I don't know the exercises to address the problems I'm running into. Your videos are helping! So you may feel like you're a worn out recording stuck on repeat, but folks like me NEED the repetition! Thank you for the work you do!

Could not agree more about the mouth/jaw position when reaching the passagio. When I first began vocal training at 8 years old this was one of the first things I noticed and learned; that the jaw needs to be dropped along with the tongue to maintain the sound you want as you reach your first bridge. More space for the sound, it always felt like to me. It became more clear to me a few years later, maybe around age 12 or 13, then very natural in my teenage years when I was singing and training regularly. By my 20s it was second nature to do this and I hadn't even realized that it was something I learned to do. Now at (almost) 41 I barely think about what I'm trying to accomplish when I sing. I can just trust myself to make it work. HOWEVER...I've added a great many tools to my arsenal just from watching this channel. I've said it a hundred times before and I'll say it a hundred times more. Sam, you are offering the world not only your beautiful appreciation for music but also your invaluable knowledge and skills at the same time. We really should be paying you for these videos that you SO generously offer us for free. And we adore you for it ❤

Awesome vid Sam! I’d love to see you react to some Whitney videos! There’s a performance of her singing “I’m changing” in 1986, the video where it’s just the picture of her throughout. I think you will be blown away and I love when you react to these old school powerhouse vocalists! Stay safe :)

I'm very late to this video, but PLEASE react to her singing How Great Thou Art (Pentatonix's performance featuring her). There's a live and an album version. Both are insane. She keeps me up at night.
