What were the 5rs again and how do I know when to not overwork
@hammer6854 Жыл бұрын
1. dont slack the 28% (dont waste the weekend doing whatever, recover and do it well) 2. Commit to 5 R's : Reps (training and workouts: 3-6 hours a day), refuel (eating enough and eating healthy), recover (cooldown, stretch, foam roll, ice bath) rest (at least 8 hours), and read 3. Condition like crazy (be the fittest you can be) 4. balance solitude with social (train w someone, especially someone who's good at a certain thing) 5. recite your kill list (make a list of better ranked players, see their strengths, and train them)
@karigrandii Жыл бұрын
Best tip is to train 2x a day and you will be so much ahead of everyone training 1x. For example technique or small games in morning and gym/cardio in evening
@Croonpe4 ай бұрын
@@karigrandii Bro that is the best freaking advice you could give me. Literally before I was training only in the morning and I used to train dribbling,touch,ball control and ball mastery. That was it and my technique was much better than my peers but I lacked in strength, stamina and fitness Your gym and cardio in evening advice helped me out a ton and now I'm also the fittest and fastest in my team along with the most technical. The only thing thats left now is strength because i'm skinny af.

Not sure how I missed this one Sam! You mentioned Archery, as someone who primarily works with another target sport, Olympic Shooting (shotgun, Trap & Skeet) this is an area Ive often had difficulty in trying to convince athletes, from multiple countries, of the benefits from each of these factors to their performance. Sport science, and sport management have come such a long way, especially in the past 10 years! Keep up the great work with these videos! 👍

Hey Sam, I’m changing my position from midfield to striker, your videos have helped in building my confidence. In a tryout, I was in left wing, but I didn’t play good, then I went from wing to striker, and I played well, my positioning was amazing but I couldn’t score. Your videos helped me go to striker instead of falling back to defense on the tryouts, this was because of my confidence which was improved because of you. Thanks!

Nah, fuck that shit. Have good nutrition, stretch before and after each workout, and take Saturday and Sunday off stay up late have fun, then get back to it Monday. The most important thing to know for the off season and pre season is that you should make sure you are balancing having fun with training or else you will get burnt out, or you will start to not enjoy the sport anymore leading you to quit.

If that works for you then absolutely go for it 💪 I said it's important to still have fun but I think there's a difference between fun that is rejuvenating and fun that's destructive

Depends on your sport - if you're a marathon runner you're going to be doing a heck of a lot more than say a golfer 😅 having said that, someone like Tiger Woods would do two 4 mile runs (one in the morning and one in the evening) alongside an hour of tennis most days. All of that was on top of 3-4 hours of golf specific training 😳 sorry I can't be more specific but just do some research into how much top athletes are doing in your sport. Hope that helps

All sports are much different now - you HAVE to be an athlete. Otherwise your career tanks into obscurity. Look at Eden Hazard - didn't look after himself physically (was known to be the laziest trainer) and last 4 years of his career were a mess.

@thefootyfrenzy. Жыл бұрын
sam i kind of disagree with the training 5 hours a day. See i think 3 or so hours (say around 3 trainings a day) of intense, game realistic and 100% focus training would help you improve much faster that 5 hours of average intensity and focus training. I don't think it is very realistic either to assume someone can maintain 100% focus in their training for 5 hours worth of work, especially if it is individual training and there is no one there to drive you externally. Let me know what you think
@SamMartinPeakPerformance Жыл бұрын
5 hrs a day is roughly an average of pro athletes. It really depends on the sport and what kind of training you're doing. In some areas 3hrs probably is optimal, especially for the intense work, as you rightly say.. But in that 5 hours this can include things like a 30-45min warm up and similar for cool downs etc. The hours really add up when you consider those things, along with an hour or two of mobility work, strength & conditioning, and stretching/yoga etc.

As @yassinkhalil says, quality over quantity is the best bet 3/4 hrs at your age would be sufficient if it's good, deliberate and focused practice. You will know your body best and what it's capable of doing. Try to gradually increase the load each week and continually reassess 👍
