They appreciate the effort but they also realize you're probably not fluent and may not understand if they spoke back in their language. So, keep using the words and phrases you know! Happy Birthday! You look so beautifully young! I'm turning 60 this year and it's a bit shocking. Although someone guessed that I was turning 45. I loved that! My husband and I adopted 3 kids almost 10 years ago so we are raising young children still. (We also have adult biological children) Crazy, I know! Barcelona estupenda! Such a joyous tour that brought back so many good memories of my visits in Barca - one of my all-time fave cities on Planet Earth. Feliz cumpleaños, Sammy! What a place to celebrate your birthday! Seems like you were there earlier this Summer or even in late Spring, given your outfit. Although, lots of tourists already... I won't guess your age, but I think your chart has def. Taurus in it, with all your appreciation for food , and beautiful places of this Planet. Gemini could also come in, given your (new?) knack for languages, and your cheeky humour. Back to Barcelona: Gest times of year are indeed Spring (May's my fave) or Fall (Sept / Oct). And so worth staying at least a week. Such great drone footage too, Tommy. Makes me want to stop the vid and check out 'from above' which places I remember. Oh yes, and Parc Guell has all these trails besides the main attractions. Barcelona is so walkable - yet the distances are huge too. I walked last time on my 'Gaudi day' all the way from Parc Guell to Sagrada Familia, and from there to the beach - was on a roll. Looking forward to part 2!

In Barcelona we don't hate tourists, we love them coming to visit us. But in recent years there are millions of them on the streets and sometimes it is annoying for people who live in the city. Also, because of the noise they make at night, many residents have left their homes due to the constant disturbance and have gone to live somewhere else. We don't want Barcelona to become a city of tourists. We want a city with people.
