So, I totally cleaned and pressure washed the floor carpet on my boat about a month ago after what I said would be my last prawning session for the year........ well, dirty boat, prawns like that, and eating home cooked prawns in the middle of winter, definitely worth it! As always good fun prawning with you Sam. At least someone can throw the net properly more than 50% of the time 🙄 That roasted prawn recipe looks good too. It has got me looking forward to next season already.

It would’ve drove me crazy. I’m from Texas. And people do this when they see others catching. There are plenty of fish to go around. Why fish right on top of me? It takes the fun away. Drives me mad.

Nothing better than a great feed of prawns and a Your Mates Macca to wash it down with Sammy, nice recipe, looking forward to trying it. I've been prawning around there for almost 20 years and that spot is way to busy, too many arguments, don't tell anybody but there is a much better spot on the other side of Karra.

The only way I eat seafood anymore. It’s gotta be fresh out of the water and cooked that night OR next day if refrigerated. If gotten sick too many times from “fresh seafood “… These prawns look amazing. Well done men.

Another recipe: Butterfly the prawns. Mix equal parts feta and cream cheese. Add finely chopped jalapenos, minced garlic, parsely, salt and pepper. Form the cheese mix into little logs and place in the prawns. Bake in a 350 f oven for 12 minutes. They can be topped with your favorite salsa after cooking for a little zing. If you can't find feta, bleu cheese can be substituted. Cheers

I'll eat all prawns but, the smaller bay prawns we used to catch in the Redlands when i was a kid, were the best , so sweet, fiddly buggers to peel but yum. If you want an unbeatable dipping sauce, try some quality mayonnaise, some good quality BBQ sauce, A little bit more mayo than BBQ sauce, a bit of Worcestershire sauce and as much Tabasco as you like , mix to taste and thank me later...!!!

How much does a pound of prawns cost at the market? Those size here in North Carolina would be about $10.00 per pound.

@@victorbitter583 Thanks Victor. We call them Shrimp. We can catch them in the same manner at certain times of the year. Those would be classified as Jumbo Shrimp.

@@dherman0001 You can get prawns over 12 inches long in the Northern Territory. They are some jumbo prawns.
@dherman00012 жыл бұрын
@@victorbitter583 We can get super jumbos but certainly not 12". Maybe 7" at the most. But we have great shrimp fisheries off our coast here in North Carolina. In addition to eating them, we use shrimp, squid and Spanish mackerel for bottom fishing on reefs and wrecks. Next to Salmon and Tuna, Spanish Mackerel is my favorite fish and it's abundant.

I wouldn't eat them Sammy. I have never ordered /cooked prawns in the shell. Lazy mans prawns. Go to as little trouble as you did butt still need to shell them anyway. None of the BS seasonings have gone into the prawn so you still need to dip into sauces etc ..... And you get splattered on your nice clean clothes shelling the damn things .
