G'day Legends, This week I head out prawning with good mate Nick Whyte and we manage to find a school of prawns 7m thick!! Needless to say we get our 20L quick smart even with only one person casting the net!! Of course it wouldn't be a prawning session without a cook up, so I show you my favourite prawn cutlet recipe! Enjoy!

That is the coolest net I have ever seen! So neat being able to empty the net from the top. I don't think I have seen anything like that in the states. Most of the shrimp nets here have sewn in panels that makes the net open as it sinks. Got to give you credit, you were throwing the hell out of that net.

Damn Sammy you guys get some monster size prawns!! Here in South Carolna USA we get the white shrimp which are at most half the size of prawns but we are throwing in about 6'-8' of water and we bait them with a can of dog food with holes poked in it and we usually get about 10 gallons on a good day😎

Because you're not pancaking the net and you hold the last part so long your net descends at an angle allowing them to escape on one side. Just toss it a bit further and let it go. Great cook on the end. I'm sure they were amazing and the crunch sounded perfect. :)

Excellent prawning session Sammy, mate your shoulders must have been aching, prawns look the 15/25 size about what the Gulf produces so they are going to be around for a few more weeks yet. I'd say the local trawlers will be loading up daily. Cutlet cookups are great party times especially with plenty of chilli dip and great beers.

Prawn, Mudcrab and Bream. My three favourite kinds of seafood. I've had Barra, Coral Trout, Red Emporer and a host of other fish, but I still go back to Bream. Oh, and Whiting (Winter) and Freshwater Eel-tail catfish from a clear river. In clear water, they are the sweetest fish meat I've ever tried. And the prawn heads? Man, flavour central! EDIT: I have been known to suck the guts out of the heads of boiled prawns...and that sounds a little weird.
