I use a Soundblaster card and it has a feature called "record what you hear". I can sample anything that I play straight into Renoise ;)

Yea anything like that is such an essential feature to have. Especialy if you work a lot with hardware samplers, is so handy to have a loopback recording function, allowing you to quickly save any intresting samples you make! :)

Aaah I didn't know about the shift+ctrl+page up/down shortcut! You should do a list of your favorite/most useful shortcuts, some of my facorites are the ctrl+b then ctrl+e for selection then all of the various alt+(letter) selections :)

I did a couple of tutorials right at the start on all the most useful hotkeys in Renoise but I haven't done a favourites list yet. Good idea! - I'll get on that. :)

Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid! I'm not quite sure what your asking? I don't think grid lines would help much here as I'm just correcting a error in the recording. You can actually see a sort of grid if you right click on the bar above the waveform as select 'Beats' as the option for the ruler there.✌️🥷

Quality Renoise tutorial 👏. thanks for showing and explaining everything so clearly. Appreciate the time this must have taken to put together. I definitely need to work more on my drum chops. I knew about the mod lanes, but never thought to use them to balance / affect each drum hit🤯 ... that's amazing!

Thanks dude! Yea the mod lane are so handy. You can also use the effect lanes in each instrument to do the same. :)

Fantastic content. Really helps me getting into Renoise, what a wonderful program! Are the loops from Armando Drum Breaks ok to use in songs if we chop them up like this? As in copyright and all that, if planning to sell the music. I have always wondered about these kind of loops and never really found the answer as I know usually you would need permission. All the best to you!

Really appreciate that mbrombert! I love Renoise too, it's such a wicked, creative to work in. I would say yes 100% go for it. These classic breaks have been used in 1000s of jungle tracks without any permission. Also, if your track does eventually blow up then you can worry about it then. There is no point going through all that hassle unless you know you have something amazing on your hands. I'm sure if you sampled a Michael Jackson break it would be different but Armado ones will be fine, these also rhythm-lab.com/breakbeats/

Hi Groovin, I have 5 Serato plugins in my template. So I sample to Renoise then open the file in Serato. It's actually fast. That Serato, I can lock any loop as it saves me two steps

Happy for you man! - Renoise is the best, Just stick at it - break through some of the early learning curve and i'm sure you will fall in love with the program.
