Seriously good stuff man, Love the Renoise content. I only got into music production 2 months ago, I chose Renoise so I can easily work on a laptop without using a mouse and these videos are pure gold.

Thanks my Man! Renoise is so much fun - I really enjoy making this content. If you want a really handy tool to help with the keyboard workflow - forum.renoise.com/t/new-tool-3-1-better-column-navigation/46034 - it allows you to tab to the FXs columns rather than always to note columns! Also, Supernudge tool is amazing if you don't have it already - forum.renoise.com/t/new-tool-3-1-supernudge/48548

For filling a pattern with sample commands you can put s00 at the start, sf0 or whatev at the end. Select the whole column and ctrl I to interpolate

This is really good stuff - I had this halfway figured out in FastTracker but this really makes it clear. Really nice way to keep your mods small and tidy - especially if you really are trying to do it more "old school" (size restrictions).

Cheers Bro - Yea it's one of those things you sort of stumble upon as you're working but its nice to illustrate it. Making the Sxx help guide definitely helped me make sense of everything! :)

Thanks dude, Appreciate all your comments. I've been really trying to improve the production quality and makes these videos as engaging as possible, whilst also maintaining the long from/detailed approach. Glad your enjoying them so much!✌️

G, can you drop the sauce on that pad you have in the intro? Was chekcking out your sample packs and couldnt find anything close to it :( thanks brotha.
@groovining Жыл бұрын
Hey bro, it's definitely something I've just created doing the SFX for this project. I had a look but couldn't find the old Logic project that I had for this video! I also didn't add it to any sample packs stupidly! It's a very similar process to my more recent jungle pads video. I've just gone in a different direction here. Sounds like a softer more sine-like pad with lots of vocal layers over the top. I'm also playing a progression rather than resampling I think :)

@groovining agghhh dude that's a killer sound dude. That's okay man I really like a lot of your samples already! I'll take a Crack at them ! Thanks, G !
Cheers Tim - I most certainly will! - next one up hopefully next week :)

Is this the same a soft clipping?
@groovining Жыл бұрын
Yes the terms soft clipping & saturation are intertwined in many ways. Saturation happens when we soft clip, however it also happens when we hard clip. When we use tube saturation, tape saturation, clipping diodes we are also soft clipping the waveforms to a certain degree so it comes around full circle :)

I get it now. By taking off the peaks (squaring off) you can raise volume of break?
Use Flex Slicing if you want to stretch breaks and retain their original pitch in Logic.

this program looks like tons of fun to make jungle in i gotta switch over to it eventually
@groovining2 жыл бұрын
For drums and chopping breaks espeically its amazing. Fun and quick, also puts your in a creative box and has loads of depth to explore! I love Renoise so much - came over from Logic X and a Maschine mk3 and never looked back! ✌️

@@groovining finally got around to installing, very intimidating to me especially with the amount of music knowledge I have lol
@groovining Жыл бұрын
@@qwebl If you ever need help with a walkthrough I've done a fair bit of tutoring - helping people get comfortable with the program. There is a bit of a learning curve but I think it actually leans towards people who don't know a lot about music theory etc. I'm much more of a computer geek than a classically trained musician. What advantage does sample offset have over slicing? Randomisation, being able to interpolate...what else?
@groovining2 жыл бұрын
Timestretch - reverse stretch fx. It’s sounds rougher by the inaccuracies which can actually be a good thing when you want it. The break layering technique I show in the next part of this series is also very useful. You could potentially do that technique which slices also by copying the slice markers over to the composite break using the tool that does that. I’d also say, lots of happy accidents as chops keep playing to the end. Especially when you start pitching things around. It forces you to be clever with the backwards command and other tricks to get things to fit. :)
@J-Hz2 жыл бұрын
@@groovining Thanks. That helps a lot. Never really used the offset commands for breaks in the past because I couldn't hear what i was inputting and the breaks had to be on time, hits locked in at certain parts etc. But I will play around with it more to use some of these techniques!
