Sadly a blu-ray disc with the old design can’t happen. According to Sonic Stadium, the scenes in the first trailer were the only scenes done for Sonic at the time so when they delayed the film to change it, they tossed out the scenes they animated and the old model. Rip thicc Sonic. 😔

Wow, it’s really disappointing that Paramount had different version of the realistic take on Sonic. Goes to show how they truly thought that was the right direction to go. It’s also interesting that they did change the design again after the previous poster from last year. So, they’ve been redesigning Sonic even before the trailer dropped. They were already worried!

it also kind of seemed like Sega tried to distance itself from the movie, It doesn't seem like sega had a lot of input in the movie; compared to Detective Pikachu, where Pokemon Company and GameFreak had heavily involvement in the films production and the designs of the Pokemon. and even making a trading cards for the Pokemon in the movie.

Okay, now THIS design I can actually understand people getting mad over this, the April design did at least try to integrate a realistic looking Sonic into the real world. The old one looks like, to quote Tim Miller "An otter like thing". I truly thought we would never see the motion poster design.Whilst I think there ARE better ways to make Sonic work in a realistic setting without him looking like a cartoon, this was clearly not the way to do it. Let's just be happy they DID listen to us, and we should be grateful that they were kind enough to change the design...twice.....

That scene is an hour and 21 minutes into the movie... that makes me think that the ending of the movie is Sonic running through that loop in Green Hill. One of the fathers of Sonic the Hedgehog (Yuji Naka) actually wants an alternative version of the movie to be featured on the home media releases where the entire film has the original design for Sonic. It would be interesting to see our old pal 'alien thick boy with an ass' again, but I think it's unlikely that they'll do that.

Actually, I think it looks less weird than the second design. One of my problems with the second design was that his limbs looked oddly thinned out compared to his torso. But if he had the thicker limbs it would have made his body seem less incorrect. But hey, third design is best.

Wow. Paramount started out with some pretty far out, cringey designs and ended up with what was revealed to us in April. Just goes to show, they had no idea what they were really doing with Sonic until the fans stepped in and demanded they get someone on the design team with a clue! The worst part is that a new article came out regarding this redesign claiming that the fans had too much power, especially when it came to the Sonic redesign. They wanted to us to take what Paramount originally gave us and have our dreams crushed because Hollywood hates real fans. Tim Miller, who is also involved in Terminator: Dark Fate, blamed fans for the flop of that movie. They are desperate because people don’t like their propaganda disguised as movies and cannot shape society anymore, and now they throw a hissy fit when people are entertained.

Why were his hands supposed to be blue with that older design ? Other than the hands, the quills, & the face a little (But i believe the face/CGI wasn't finished necessarily so it doesn't look that good), the body proportion to me looks decent. But yeah, the redesign Sonic is the best sonic now
