I made the video of Tally Ho at the wooden Boat show and believe this comment was for Leo and his crew. I pasted it and put it on Sampson Boat co so he could read it.

I watched every video posted on the building of this magnificent Sailboat.. It’s inspired by Tally Ho, with some of the original bits.But this is as good as a New Build. It’s been very inspiring to watch it all come together..Love Tally Ho , Leo and everyone involved.. Makes me wish I was young again and back on the Sea.. P.S. I will be cheering for the crew at Fastnet …. Give Em H3ll Leo

Ship of Theseus.... regardless of the extent of the rebuild, it still IS the original Tally Ho.

Strange how _No Feet Pete_ just up and vanished - he put in some SERIOUS hard graft getting her back to right and had a workshop adjoining theirs so you'd think he'd have got to go sailing at some point.
@roscoejones4515Ай бұрын
I don't think there's any behind-the-scenes drama, Pete seems to be his own man and does what he wants, or needs,to do. He's running his own show now so work may be taking precedence over leisure travel.

Exquisite yacht, and nicely handled. I think that's the first time since trials I've noticed Leo using the electric motor, too.
@Maadhawk2 ай бұрын
Marine diesel engine, not an electric motor. The diesel can be de-coupled, or disconnected, from the propeller shaft to power a generator if so desired, or can power both the generator and the propeller at the same time. Really good setup for getting into and out of port where fine maneuvering is needed to safely navigate around other vessels and piers, and to put a charge on the batteries running the ships electronics. Leo has got himself a very well designed mechano-electrical system to supplement the sails.
@selkiemaineАй бұрын
@@Maadhawk yes, I know. I watched the videos too. My point is that this is the first time since trials that I've seen him maneuvering using the batteries and not the diesel. I've been hoping he would. That is an extremely deluxe and expensive setup.

Tally Ho is a beautiful boat, really classic elegance. That said I wonder if it shouldn't have lifelines strung along the edges of the deck for protection of crew in rough seas. I mean literally any ocean sailing boat has them, there must be a good reason, no?

You did a real nice job on the boat. I’m happy for you. How formal was your sea trials? How well did you do with boat’s speed? Sailing and motoring etc? Did all the systems meet their design goals? Congratulations again! Oh, just asking, do you have all of the sails? I haven’t looked at the vintage photos in a while. I seem to think that those photos had more sails.
