Just picked up the Sony X80J 75" - was really torn on the Samsung Q60 vs the X80J. I saw your other video comparing these two speciifcally. Even though the QLED is great for black contrast, those Sony colors are just so much better. Is that because it's not a VA panel? Or is it due to Sony's TrueColor technology? I really think the reds and blues pop way more on the Sony and the skin tones are much more natural, less washed out.

its because of Sony Processor you can get better picture if youre using x90j. you should have bought x85j instead x80j since that tv have deeper black and have higher brightness nits for Better HDR

75 Inch is for sure a VA panel in Sony.

we had the 75" sony x81j in the store I worked... I think it's the direct led technology that makes a difference .... the colors look more bright in the sony compared to the samsung .... I think it all has to do with the direct led technology .... in 75" model the leds of the backlight are actually 4 times more than the ones of the 43" model .... On the other hand , in the 75" q60 series ... the number of the leds that produce the colors , are just 2 times more compared to the ones at a 43" model ... Perhaps that's why the bigger direct led tvs ... shine a lot lot more light compared to the samsung edge lit models

Thanks for your videos I hve been using Sony x800h for the past one year and my experience is exelent what I really like about it is that it's very simple adjusting basic features like brightness, picture mode takes at least 2 sec and very wide variety of apps and games to choose from viewing angles and 🔆 are exelent

From what I can see, the Samsung may technically have a higher contrast, but due to the colour depth of the Sony, the perceived contrast of the Sony is better at least when viewing content in a lit room.

@Thomas Shaw Totally agree with you. The Sony X80J, considering it has an IPS panel, surprisingly, has more vibrant colours and perceived contrast, imparting a certain depth to the picture.

I just got the 43" Samsung AU8000 and I really appreciate the deeper blacks that the VA panel can produce. The only BIGGEST downside about the AU8000, is the sound quality, I've never heard such bad sound quality in my life coming from a TV, I'm guessing it's because it's super thin so it sacrifices the speakers. It literally sounds like AM radio, or dropping coins in a tin can, only treble, absolutely no mid tones or bass.

Excellent video. After some thought I will purchase the Samsung for the reason of motion and black lighting. The Sony has superior color but for my needs I dislike dark scenes in movies like Batman and the blur in sports. There are pros and cons for both tv's but it really comes down to the kind of shows one watches.

@@Flatlined804 800D definitely has better viewing angles than the 900H but your angle has to be extreme on the 900H before it’s ever a problem. A 30 degree angle doesn’t have any picture degradation.

Hi Steve- just watched your video on the Sony X80J - The Google assistant worked for two days and then it has quit. Do you have any suggestions on making it work again? I have googled many things and have tried and have been unsuccessful. Do I need to do a factory reset and start over on my TV? I downloaded Google home and added the TV and everything was working perfectly and now I am unable to add the TV back. Would love to have your thoughts. Happy new year!

My x80j loses channels whilst you watch others . Done so many factory resets its not funny . Have to tune it everytime i switch it on . Its going back to sony for a refund . I like the tv but the software is crap . The update didnt help it either .

The colors on the Sony here look so much better. I tested two TVs , one TCL with VA QLED panel and Other LG with Nanocell IPS. The colors on LG IPS panels are so much better. The skin tones look so much more pleasing and HDR on IPS was a lot better. I'm suggesting everyone I know to get IPS panel TVs over VA.

The problem of IPS is ghosting/judder and not good in dark type movies and very bad for gaming due to high input lag..VA is more advance over IPS.,IPS is good for editing and viewing angles;if u want the better than IPS and VA panels go buy OLED..but OLED can harm your eyes! There is no perfect panels they had pros/cons but it depends of what your reference is..

But most of the people buy TVs to watch with their families abd living rooms. Or to be used with their PC and Gaming Consoles. And IPS performs so much better in those circumstances. People tell me all the time that skin tones look more pleasing on IPS.

Currently in best Best Buy both 55” X80j and Au8000 are on same price. From this video I can see Sony has better picture quality but Samsung did better in the motion test. I bought the 43 inch x80j and the tuner keeps losing channels and somtimes theres ghosting of people . The sound is good but this tv is going back . Sony have lost the plot with their quality . I like the tv but its not like the quality that sony used to have . I might get the samsung Bu8000 next . This tv is a pain and loses channels whist your watching other channels .
