IMO, Galaxy A54 is worth it if youre planning to use it for many years. Many people will say to buy the pixel 7 or older samsung phones (older than S22), but I disagree. These phones may be faster, but these also have close to 2 years of OS support left. I think with the glass back, brand new design on the back, 4 years of Android updates (Android+One UI) and considering that also the phone doesnt seem that laggy compared to its predecessor, its a great deal.

In my country the Pixel 7 and OnePlus phones are 3 times more expensive than the A54. I've been using the A52 5G since 2021 and I think it is a very good phone, Samsung is keeping it up to date and I don't know what is the fuss with powerful phones that you'll have to upgrade every 2 years. So point is the great deal in the US can't be exactly a great deal anywhere in the world.

I think Samsung is trying to slowly get their customers to leave their midrange phones for good. They've already scrapped their A70 series and once again they've scrapped their FE series. They were gonna have the S23 FE with the Exynos 2200 which is ridiculous, with last year's FE design, and priced at $599 instead of $699 but they've already changed their mind. I think they're trying to be more like Apple with their devices and pricing.

Try not to unbox a new release Samsung phones. After 2-3months of launch, their price just drops significantly around 30%, or you can buy a flash used one. Unbox an Iphone on September/October, for their price only drops after 2 years.

What's interesting is that the tensor chip is basically a Samsung Exodus 2100 processor. The key is optimization and Google has mastered that where Samsung falls behind with that on their own devices

@@nitgop78 while Tensor isn't the fastest, it is a consistently solid performer with no lag at all due to how it's optimized. Even the Galaxy S23 Ultra still suffers from occasional camera shutter lag (mostly when opening the camera for a quick "now or never" shot), where the Pixel 7 never does. The battery drain was not because of Tensor, but a software bug that was fixed with the March update.

Why? Some people say "to avoid losing a bud". Well, there's the best of both worlds out there: my headphones (bought, when I still had a phone with 3.5mm jack) have a connecting cable which makes losing no more likely than with a "jack" cable. It also has space for a slender battery - rechargable via USB-C in less than an hour from 0% to 100% - which gives me the theoretical option of listening to music for 25 continuous hours.

The pixel 7 might have a better camera, but you can't expand the memory with an sd card. So you end up having to go for the 256gb pixel 7 which is significantly more money than the A54 + 128 gig sdcard.

It seems that Google regard their Pixel 7/7a as "flagships" - the only reason I could think of why SAMSUNG stopped providing an expansion slot with the S21 is that they feel (or their market research told them?) that people who are willing to fork out serious money for a Samsung flagship, will cheerfully pay a few hundred dollars more for an Ultra with 512 GB memory... ... which makes me wonder if there is a Pixel Super Plus Ultra in the pipeline with 512 GB or even 1TB.(?) For me personally, lack of an expansion slot is THE criterion which makes such a phone totally unbuyable.

The completely A Series is underrated. I have a Samsung Galaxy 51 S. It is a nice Smartphone. I also have a S 6. Well the Software is different and there is a Reason that the S Series costs more but the A Series is really a good Smartphone.

Well said. I have one going on 2 weeks now, and it's packed full of junk and multitasking fine. I'm not a big gamer, so tbh havent noticed a downside besides camera when zoomed past 3 or 4 gets a bit fuzzy but at e same time not much of a photographer 😅. Perfect for everyday use and media. Display supports 2160 60hp an it handles it pretty well.

The A54 is ideal for the general user IE checking emails , social media , texts and calls, watching video content IE Netflix, KZbin, saving photo memories. The A54 also has a fantastic display - better than the likes of the pixel 7. The A54 isn't a performance device IE gaming

It kinda kills me that all comparisons that you made are not available in my country… considering a Xiaomi note 12 Pro since it’s same specs, but has a jack. Not everyone is made for Bluetooth or toggles, keep losing stuff. It bothers me how, if you don’t use the jack it’s no bother, but they decided to take those decisions made on flagships to the mid range phones, and took away my decision.

I actually had to make the same choice between the two very recently... ended up getting the A73. It doesn't look as cool as the A54 but the slimmer bezels and profile (despite the larger size/display) are very noticeable. The SD778G is a better chipset too and the cameras aren't much different between the two. The A73 is probably the better phone but your mileage varies depending on how they are priced where you are.

I really really really wanna get a pixel 6a because of the camera but the overwhelming amounts of complaints on it's poor battery performance, heating issues and screen brightness issues are driving me away from it. I'm looking for a good camera with good performance for long periods of time not only just a good camera.... So I don't really have alot of options in this price range.... All of these "negatives" sound to me like "Well, it's a mid-range phone", which it is. No phone jack? Meh. Most folks who spend $400 on a phone can afford wireless earbuds, and most folks owning $200+ wired headphones don't use mid-range phones. Bezels? Sheesh, bezel fetish! My wife's s23 FE has big bezels too...but when I'm using her phone I'm looking at the screen, not the bezels. Performance? Yep, it's mid-range as expected - BTW, Tensor chipsets are nothing to get excited about, unless your hands are cold...and if you are trying to make a living shooting content video, you shouldn't be shooting it on a mid-range phone.

Pixels arent supported in many countries, if you get one in a unsupported country. Goodluck, you wont have 5g, vowifi, volte, etc. There are even cases wont work properly. The pixel doesnt have good value if your travel and not in the US.

Coming for the s21fe i dont see a big difference at all. The battery like on the A54 is just killer. Runs smoothly and has way better connection to networks ove my s21fe. The stutters i have had with this phone...not LAGGING, stutters can definitely be improved over time with software so thats not a concern to me.

It's a mid budget phone. What's not to like. ? Its takes a 1tb removable SD card for extra storage. That's 1512gb of internal storage if you need it. Try doing that with the flagship S line Samsungs... You can't, they don't take SD memory cards. Android 13 with 4 years of operating system updates guaranteed. It's a great deal for the average user, and it's cheap on contract. If your a video creator or pro photo creator, your not looking at this level of phone anyway.

Had one for 2 weeks now and it's jammed packed full of my junk. I multi task and game on it day and night and it still feels fresh out the box. BY FAR the biggest downside to this phone is the camera, but only when zooming past 3x and nighttime with low lighting. If your fine with that, this phone is A BEAST for the price. Also, to those saying it gets hot watching videos or movies. I watch 2 hours and phone not even warm 😅 idk.

So I've had my s23 junior for almost a month now came from the a23 5g first of all that phone was horrible with that being said I was really upset because I wanted the s21 fe couldn't find a new one so I got this and this has by far been my favorite phone ever i truly mean that Samsung use to be my fav then they feel off so i went with lg then the iphone anywho long story short i have absolutely been blown away from the display down to the sim card tray only thing i hate is no headphone jack with that being said of the 5 things that matter build display performance battery camera the only real thing that could use some improvement is the performance and im not saying it because it's slow or anything of that nature it just could bold well with a little boost aside from that everything else is world class frfr i just dont understand why this phone is getting bashed its so bizarre 8.5 outta 10 only because the performance just fell a little short but its still awesome 😎 JUST KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A MIDRANGE PHONE 🤳🏿

Pretty much the only reason not to pick an older Samsung flagship is that their batteries are sh-t. Please check with your local Best Buy, they still got a really good sale on last year's Pixels (unlocked, choose your Carrier and pop in their SIM card). If you don't want the Pixel 6a? Get the Pixel 6 (or the Pixel 6 Pro if you can get a buy 1 get 1). It's interesting that the Tensor is a better Chipset than the Exynos, makes me wonder how long Google will work with Samsung (don't be surprised if one of them bails on the other and partners with MediaTek). Give Samsung credit for how long they guarantee updates (as well as discounts if you trade in thru Samsung).

Depends on your preferences, i hate 6.5" or 6.6" sized phones. Anything bigger than 6.4" is a no go for me since it's really hard to manage and handle with 1 hand and barely fits in some pockets. 6.1-6.2" is ideal for me but 6.4" is fine too

There's a lot to appreciate about the Samsung Galaxy A54, but there's enough competition in the $400 price range (we are lucky as Consumers to have a variety available to choose from). I'd consider it an update from the A52, but one has to understand that Samsung isn't going to give you a Qualcomm Snapdragon unless you get one of the S 23's (and they may use an Exynos Chipset in those IF they truly think it can compete). If you want to stay in the Samsung Ecosystem, chances are the A34 would be fine (price range) except for that teardrop front camera. I ❤ my 2022 Motorola G Stylus 5G (upgraded from the 2020 original). I got it at 1/2 priced from Best Buy (has Android OS 13 update). I ❤ Motorola My UX (I'm looking forward to seeing a 2023 Motorola Edge).

I have A34 8/128GB model. It has been around 2 months. There are many stutters on UI especially using KZbin while playing video on it and scrolling at the same time and other UI as well. It is overpriced junk. And please avoid virutal proximity sensor smartphones which are these overpriced A34 and A54. From day 1 there used to be unnecessary taps while in pocket resulting emergency calling, lock screen clock gadgets tapping like once there was audio recording for hours during walking, incoming call declining, random contacts call dailing and battery drain and smartphone heating due to constant wake up due to unintentional taps. Updates are just gimmick. Flagships get monthly updates while A series seemed to be treated like nobody with half yearly updates. A series are the expensive smartphones, you can get smartphone from Apple SE lineup that gives same and respectful treatment as flagship series on OS department. I don't recommend SAMSUNG smartphones in general as they are overpriced and so little value. I used to praise Samsung for providing their in house AMOLED display even to budget smartphones like Galaxy J2 but now they are making AMOLED as premium display(though AMOLED is just a recent display which is going to be overthrowned by microLED probably the start will be from Apple and that's the fact no more SAMSUNG monopoly and its sh*tty gameplay on budget smartphones with LCD displays like literally at the time). They are just throwing so many useless devices on budget sections with U notch in this date while Redmi is providing punchhole AMOLED cheaper that Samsung while Samsung can't afford to give their OWN AMOLED display in those ranges. A34 U notch is sh*t. 8/128GB for overpriced smartphone is absurd while they are the leader in storage manufacturing as well. They are just trying to copy Apple like give little and be premium and give very little to smartphones that are not flagships. A series is just gimmick lineup with overpricing. That's it. Just avoid SAMSUNG or any other android smartphones that gives too much bloatware, ads or no OS updates at all. It is time to get aware guys. Nowadays f to reviewers as well. Since, they are so scared that SAMSUNG will not provide them review sample they always talk the expensive smartphone that doesn't give you best value like A34 and A54 came at the same time but focus was on A54 only though both are trash in terms of price to value. And on flagship you could get value for S23 but everywhere it was S23 Ultra like everyone has money spilling out of their pockets.

Nah, people are just spoiled ASAF. You get for what you paid. Just look at iPhone, that is overpriced and you pay for Less. Also Exynos chipset are underrated. 4 years of os update+5 years of security updates, dies Google pixel or any Android device gives that much?? Even it is 2 year of warranty like in other phones, if you take care of your phone you can use it 5 years and not spending money for more then other android will loos os and security updates. So this is probably one of this reason why you pay more but when you put on paper you give less.

1. If you want performance you need to pay more. This phone is not made for performance it is made to last long 2. The camera isnt that bad compared to other phones of the same price the quality is pretty good 3. Almost no phone today has a headphone jack and lets be honest everbody uses bluetooth nowadays

I have a54 for a week now, i don't know what is samsung doing but battery life is terrible. For a 5000mah optimisation is not good, i get 3-4hrs of SoT with like 30% left, only once i managed to get about 7 hrs.. Standby is too sooo awful, looses like 10-12% in 6-7 hrs

Samsung makes quality devices, it's just as a Consumer you need to know what's out there at the same price range (the Galaxy A's are low-tier to mid-tier, the Galaxy S's are top-tier and you need to decide the price range - then accept what the device comes with). I can see where brand loyalty comes in when it comes to updating your device (ie I waited almost 3 years to update from one Motorola G Stylus to another Motorola G Stylus). I can also see where Samsung kind of needs to reevaluate and do better in 2024 (ie the A34 should not have a teardrop front camera). I don't see there ever being another Qualcomm Snapdragon inside a Galaxy A Series (it's so competitive now that the Exynos needs to be on par with the Tensor, the MediaTek is catching up to Qualcomm - this reminds me of when AMD caught up with Pentium). Whatever you buy as a Consumer, you should be 💯 happy with (glad that you purchased it).

My experience with samsung phones is terrible. Always lags, stuttering and battery swelling. In the last 10 years all my friends come to me crying that their new Samsung phones are more at repairs than in their hands. I strongly advise everyone to buy anything but Samsung phones if they don't want to cry later.

@@armaggedonsblade You must be a VERY unlucky group - either Murphy has it in for you, or one of your group is cursed and the curse radiates out to the rest. 😉 I just counted - since I came to Android in 2012, the A54 5G is my tenth phone, nine of which were/are Samsungs, number 10 was an Honor 9 which I hated so much I sold it after two weeks and replaced it with a Galaxy S9. None of my Samsungs ever gave me any trouble (except for my S2, but that was my fault: I dropped it, face down, from about five feet onto an iron object on the floor that had a VERY pointy corner; both screen protector and screen were completely trashed.) So, my advice (if I ever gave it - being aware of the saying in my town "every fool is different") would clearly be "buy Samsung, everyone - they're great quality!"

@@MarabuToo I am an expert in IT field and people from entire city come to me seeking verious forms of help. So i had probably thousands of phones brought to me with various problems. I must say that almost 95% percent of the phones were made by Samsung. I wouldn't notice it otherwise because i don't think much about these things. I am more of fantasy guy than someone who worries about his gadgets. It was so obvious that i started talking people out of buying Samsung phones. And after a while people who didn't listen to me come to me saying i was right and blah blah blah that sort of things promising to listen to me in the future and so on. Again i am no expert in the field but by observational evidence i concluded i would never buy Samsung for me and my familly.

@@armaggedonsblade @armaggedonsblade Maybe you're right, BUT it would be interesting to find out the market shares in your city. As far as Android is concerned, in my country, Samsung doesn't have an actual monopoly, but they sell more than half of all Android phones and are even ahead of Apple, so that alone would guarantee a high proportion of problems. I read a well regarded PC mag which also deals with smartphones - and they never wrote anything about any particular quality problems with Samsung phones.

@heatsflamesman6080 this was a phone I had about a year ago but if you'd like to hear sure. The battery life was the worst I've had in a phone in years. Secondly it would restart and or freeze multiple times a day, it would get super hot. The pictures looked so great on youtube comparisons but against my iphone 12 pro max it was a good bit worse. The video quality also wasn't good at all. Me and my woman both returned ours in 3 or 4 days to best buy. The galaxy was alot nicer which is doesn't make sense as it was so cheap.

Here's another two reasons not to get this phone. No 4k uhd support . Even cheap Chinese phones you can watch 4k programs. Annoying small aspect ratio on most apps i don't like the big black bezels either side of what im watching, zoom to fill option looses details on screen.
