Couldn't you heat it up nice and hot and put a suction cup on the backside and the screen side and pull in opposite directions to at least get it separated a little? Also it would be awesome if someone designed a replacement back that utilized the some of the screws under the back cover to hold it in place. How long have you been doing repairs? The "home button ribbon cable" is for the finger print sensor.

Daily use: This phone battery will last me almost all day, get to about 5% right before I head to be at night so that is sold performance for how much I use the phone. is there a possibility to replace the sh.tty glass with a plastic one or like on the v10 flexible and maybe 4 of the screws to be replaced with longer ones so you can screw the plastic cover with them so you don`t go thru this again every time the s-pen is stuck or you need to replace dying battery?

Samsung really doesnt want to repair this, just buy a new one. I really respected Samsungs phones as an iPhone-user but now with a phone which costs almost 1000$ with a built-in battery and no removable SD-card which will last only a few years i dont see a reason for buying it. Same for iPhones but they are atleast repairable. Good disassembly though, you earned a new subscriber.

I've dropped my Note 5 quite a bit. There are 2 cracks on the front screen and the glass over the back camera is also broken. I dropped it the final time and it black screened but had a little white stripe flashing every now and then. The blue notification light is on also. I really need the pictures on the phone but not only were they not backed up but i had them locked with an app. So if i take the logic boards out of a broken Note 5 and put it into a new one will it work?

Thank you for showing this. I dropped my phone on tile, it landed flat on its back. I thought surely I broke the screen but it was fine. What it did do was show a bunch of colors and then the screen went black. I feel something was jarred and came loose cause the little lights still come on at the top (blue and green). The vibration was also jarred cause the pen when removed doesn't vibrate now. What is your suggestion to do to fix?

Watched this looking to see why the S-Pen would get stuck if people put it in backwards, I can see the little plastic latch there. Do you have any ideas for people who get their pen stuck on how to get that latch retracted without taking the phone apart? I'm thinking just something long, skinny, and rigid ... but I don't know what would work that people might have easy access to.

Thank you; nice video ^_^ *(Note to all companies and Chipset Manufacturers and OEMs)* If you manufacture anything and make it nearly impossible to disassemble without breaking it, then please glue your hands to your face :) Like really, can't you just use screws instead of glue? I don't care if the phone or computer has a metallic or crystal back. If you can't take it off without damaging it, I'm not going to buy it :) Thank you for your understand :) :) :) I'm not saying I'm a better engineer than Samsung's but really? can't we just use a metallic back that has screws on it, and a thin opaque layer that gets taped on top, so when you want to take it off you replace the cheap opaque cover, unscrew the metallic back and later just change the cheap layer, or just leave the screw holes visible if you don't have the thin replaceable layer handy....

You should NOT be using a hot air gun....you should be using warming pads. iFixit has PROPER guides on how to do this as well as the proper tools.....

+JT 3 Yes warming pads or a hot plate (which I do have) make it easier but the point of this DIY channel is to show the most cost effective way of completing the repair. Most people who want to repair their phone are doing so as they are on a budget. These are the people who this video is aimed at not repair shops.

Well, my perfectly unblemished phone of 2 1/2 years is now not only has a broken case but the gold color on the back ripped and I still can't get the damn cover off! Neither Verizon or Samsung certified repair shops won't touch this phone for fear that they will break the glass or some part of the phone that they may have to pay for! What a ridiculous model and I cannot afford a new phone and have no one I can take it too. I understand you can replace the back glass but what about the color? Some people don't care but I do. You pay $600 for a phone and you should be able to change the battery, two wireless chargers not FAIL within 30 days of receipt (one caught fire!) and I don't go anywhere except doctor's visits, labs, imaging, etc. as I am disabled. Your video was much more complicated once inside than the last. What am I supposed to do now???
