I've worked in an architectural office for 5 months. we used 2 monitors. both were about this size or bigger. they were actually 4k tv screens. it worked well for me as we didn't care about refresh rates, color accuracy, response times etc since we just drew in Autocad and used PDF viewers and excel spreadsheets. the 2 things that bothered me: When i used the remote control, the infrared of the remote bounces on the screen and accidentally controls the monitor of the coworker behind me. So if an office wants to use a monitor that uses a remote, just be aware of that. Make sure you block the reflection. The worst thing that bothered me was, the NECK pain. It's true, especially when you have to tilt your head up. We worked in a high paced production office. I was definitely productive. As for sizes of Text and Buttons, you can change that through Windows settings (not sure for Macs). For gaming, I am usually satisfied with 16 inch to 32 inch monitors. (although i also had worked as a 3d artist and 2d artist in another architectural office, Dual monitor setup at 27" was fine. (Also a tip for viewers: Stay away from curved screen if doing architectural stuffz because you will want to see straight lines when doing construction/engineering drawings. You want to know you actually drew a straight line)

I'm more to 43. I've been using my 43 inch for couple of years now after previously used any 27 imac, 32 or wide 38. And Now I can't enjoy working with smaller size. Maybe 38 works only if there's flat version and not wide screen. I prefer 16:9 or 16:10 ratio. I just hate curve and wide screen of the 38. I just bought a new 32 inch last week but now it sits on the corner. The only problem with this 43 mon is it's not for gaming as it has standard refresh rate and it's not color accurate but I'm not doing color grading or semething like that so I sitll love and use it until now.

Yeah! Me too! I couldn't look back 24 & 27 inch anymore, they look small & tiny now, have to stress open big eyes to see things in 24-27 inches monitor. I am having problem with TV 43 inch that is not go right with my RTX 4080 VGA. It turn off sometime while playing PUBG or COD. They told me to change to use Monitor to adapt with RTX 4080. So I came here dont know if this monitor is good because it is look the same as my Samsung 40 inch TV I am using right now, same TV & same Remote control., his is Smart Monitor & mine is Smart TV O_O

Is there enough space under the monitor to put a soundbar? Since the monitor is huge, I guess you have to set it quite low in order to be able to use the upper corners comfortably, which doesn't let much space under. Could you measure the available height under the monitor?

Quick tip, with Display Fusion you can split any monitor into separate virtual monitors on a pixel level. You could have 4 equal "monitors", 3 tall and slim "monitors" , 1 Ultrawide on top and two 16:9 "monitors" and so on, and you could swap between the diffrent layouts with hot-keys ;)

I used my boyfriends 43 inch Samsung tv for a while and absolutely freaking loved it. He used my 32 inch LG ultrawide as an exchange and he liked it but his line of work requires a more bigger screen for web design and stuff so we exchanged again. While I actually missed having a monitor, I decided to upgrade back again to a 43 inch, but this time, a monitor instead of a TV. I get it next week so I’m excited to try it again. I also found that I have a natural tendency to tilt forward and slouch at generic computer monitors and even my 32 inch one which gets harder for my back as years go by. When I had the 43 inch tv, it actually forced me to lean back on my chair which helps my back and neck. I hope this helps anyone still deciding between a 32 inch and 43 inch. Yes, it’s a huge screen, but like other people said, if you have a deep enough desk, and If you have the back and neck issues like me, get the bigger one.

@MelleyV 2 жыл бұрын
@@snfgriefers so when I got the 43” monitor I thought it would be a legit looking monitor, but it feels very similar to the TV I used. I’m sure there are some technical differences between the monitor and TV that I can’t quite explain on the top of my head. One example I can think of, is that the monitor has an “eye saver” feature that actually calibrates the screen so that your eyes aren’t so strained and fatigued. I’ve had to use that a few times. In essence, while the monitor is a few hundred extra than what you would pay for the same size TV, im glad I got it in that it makes me feel more comfortable using a technical device that’s made for sitting on the computer and looking at all day. As much as I loved using the TV as a monitor, I couldn’t quite shake off that I’m using a big screen TV as a computer monitor.

these 43" monitors are not meant to be used so close but should be at least 1 m away and then set display settings to 175%. then no disadvantages, then they feel like regular small monitor and you use them like regular small monitor. advantage is you can also use them as tv and watch from few meters away some movie and less strain for eyes, ie bigger things. main advantage is they are more comfortable than small monitors. i use it for programming for over a year and love it. in office i have two 27" monitors and they are less comfortable for me. but i am thinking of buying second 43" monitor to use 2 for work at my home. i dont use split screen apps, they are really awkward and not practical.

Thanks for the honest review. not 100% sure but just a hunch, Ive had at least 2 older TVs die or get a blue screen from using the VGA port and switching back to TV alot, the resolution would alway be off too. Seems they fixed that issue and I really wanted this yesterday but it was out of stock but honestly seems like a glorified TV and it makes running a dual monitor setup require a bigger work desk if your 2nd monitor is not vertical.

For me 32 inches for a 16:9 monitor is about as big as you can get without it getting weird. I think these big TV sizes can work though if you have a very deep desk and are forced to sit further away than usual. I'm thinking about getting a 43 inch TV and a deep desk so that it makes me sit back instead of leaning forward which could be better for my posture.
@ToasterVentura
@ToasterVentura 2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! To give you more info for consideration my desk is 29.5 inches deep and I think it's still not deep enough for the big monitor. Everyone is different but you might need something deeper than that or wall mount that thing. Also keep in mind of the height of the monitor as looking up all the time can cause neck strain too. Lmk how it works out for ya!

@ToasterVentura 2 жыл бұрын
Regarding eye strain - that depends on the person and how close you are to the monitor when using it. I mean I watch movies on my big TV all the time without eye strain so I deduce that it must be my setup or placement of monitor that contributed to the cause. Picture by picture yes I mean no split sreen function built in. You have multiple inputs but can only use them one at a time, not simultaneously

I appreciate your feedback and usage experience. I am currently using two 27" monitors - not liking it that much. I have bezels and always find one monitor becomes the dominant screen. I am considering a 32 or 34 inch. I will mainly be using it for coding and office work - not much gaming. I also use a Macbook Pro and a Windows laptop for work - I mostly use my Mac, but have a few Windows applications with no Mac counterpart. So, a KVM of some type would be nice. nice points raised Sir. Thank you for the video. I have a question. It is usually said that a TV should not be used as a monitor as it may effect your eyes negatively. I am little confused. Did Samsung launched a TV and letting people use it as a monitor or this is a monitor which also has some TV functionalities, however the screen is a monitor screen which wont effect negatively? I am thinking to buy it for my secondary monitor. My primary will be 34 inch. And I sit like 38 inches away from monitor.

I got one of these off of Facebook marketplace. Same size. I really like it. I use mine to screen mirror my phone mostly which you can do without internet! It functions really well as a TV and paired with my samsung phone it compliments the Samsung ecosystem. I think this thing even has its own little wifi router built in (?) so you can connect smart home features to it and control everything from your phone. It has a USB C connection which is great for charging devices even as you're mirroring them. Connects easily with macbook and iPad. Wouldn't get it for photography though as the colors don't match perfectly with your MacBook. But it's great for watching TV, screen mirroring, as an extra 4k display, using the Microsoft features like word and excel that come built into it, etc. It's made well though it's really thin which I love and comes with a heavy metal stand. I opted for this instead of a tv because it's so thin, and it can do everything a monitor does with the addition of a smart tv. Can't best it for the price. Especially if you find one like I did. Guy who sold me mine said he went with the smaller 32 inch instead. He liked it so much that just wanted the smaller one instead, but loved everything else about it.

You are using it wrong. I have one that I use as a secondary monitor and for netflix etc. but that's beside the point here. You don't sit that close to a 43 inch screen. The rule of thumb is that the minimum distance from a screen is the one at which you don't have to move your head at all. It is not for desk use, at least at 100% scale. There are too many pixels for (at least me) to make out finer things at any appropriate distance. In fact I don't think it's possible for my eyes at all to use a 4k monitor of any size at 100% scaling. 125% seems to be the smallest I can be comfortable with. What you need is a 21:9 ultrawide (don't ever buy a 32:9 one, that's a terrible, terrible mistake) if you edit videos. This price bracket is shit for any sort of color accurate work so forget about all that. Your macbook's display is far more color accurate than anything you can buy for $500 (I bought mind for 300, brand new if you can believe it). To anyone who's thinking about pulling the trigger: it is better than any TV (except for OLEDs) if you want to use as a monitor because it is a monitor. The apps are fast and snappy so that's a big plus compared to similarly priced TVs. I have measured the input lag against my 1440p144 TN monitor and it is about 10 ms slower which unrivaled by any non-OLED TV, because it is a monitor with apps and stuff. The speakers are really far better than online reviews make them out to be. I was thinking about buying a soundbar after the LTT video but I can't even turn the volume 100%. In fact it sits around 30. I have a 5.1 attached to my pc and it is obviously heaps better but the samsung's speakers are perfectly adequate. One issue is that wifi seems to be slow overall and it has problems with the 5GHz broadcast of my router (download speed capped at 5mbps, weird shit) and no wired ethernet. That's the only thing I have against this monitor but recommend it to all my friends and family if they aren't seeking something that has a DVB tuner (that's still a thing here in Turkey).

Dude, you seem monitor confused. The fact that you think you can stare into a screen for prolonged periods? is everything wrong with your “review.” Also, yes, YOU are the problem. You’re mainly suffering from buyer’s remorse, which is why your mind has picked apart your choice. The G7 is an all around equipment that covers the gamut on SPECS. It’s not aimed at being “perfect.” It’s the sweet spot between all functions! You just didn’t meet the requirements of the specific buyer it represents!

Yeah, my buyer’s remorse is real for the M7 monitor and I have my opinions about it so I shared them that’s all. Funny you mentioned the G7, because I just bought the Odyssey G7 4K 43 Inch monitor last week for $300 and using it right now. I like Samsung stuff, just not all products and the M7 is not my favorite. The G7 43 on the other hand is pretty close to what I am looking for.
