Im considering this monitor at some point, but since its primary purpose will be for gaming and occasional TV streaming, the text scrolling issue and ghosting are basically non issues for me being that the brightness, colors, reflections, size, etc far outweigh the cons for my use case. I already knew that some of what we were seeing in this video were due to the camera. Anyway, great video. It looks like an awesome monitor that I think is a bit better than the Aorus 43".

I apologize if my camera isn't capturing the real situation but it's actually not great in real as well, when text scrolling ghosting effect is really an eye catcher, it's very frustrating and makes you want to avoid scrolling all together at least in my case but as you said for gaming and entertainment it's 10/10 I'll do my best to improve my equipment in future videos! As a new channel there's still a lot to learn and improve I appreciate your comment 🤗

Did you check your HDMI cable or DisplayPort? It should support higher bandwidth. Be careful, some brands claim their cables are certified with ultra-high speed, but it's fraud. Check if another cable solves it. Is it HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4?

Going from an "old" VA monitor (Samsung CRG9 49"), I figured this G7 would at least be on par with that. It was not. Far slower. But the colors and black levels are miles above on the G7, so I forgive it. The perfect monitor does _not_ exist. You have to pick out one with faults you can live with.

@@TECHOSAUR I see that's an actual TV (capped at 120hz too it seems), and it's twice as expensive to boot. For that price, it should have been a good OLED panel, in my opinion. I'm pretty happy with the Neo G7 - it's more of a stop gap monitor anyway until they either perfect OLED to the point where it's safe to buy, or make VA quick enough that it can compete (I'm more than happy with the black levels VA can produce after I got this one).

I think for you as a sim racer, latency matters, so I think you need to stay away from VA panels as they have the highest delay. Since you want a monitor bigger than 32 inches, I think there are no QD-OLEDs bigger than 32 inches, so your option could be an OLED like the LG C2, C3, or C4. I've recently reviewed multiple TVs that can be used as monitors. kzbin.info/aero/PLg8ANjUNzqfP82x1mxLdS7Th3YiFlsyn1&si=Oy56blavVmIJlSGX Check this playlist. It has reviews for the C4 and QN90C, QN90D from Samsung, but they're VA panels. The LG C4 seems like what I would personally pick in your case.

Just FYI if you have the Monitor set to 144Hz and are filming, cameras are able to pick up the flicker MUCH better than the human eye can. If you set the Monitor to 120 and film it you no longer see a white flickering while filming.

I think if you care a lot about Size it is obviously a good upgrade, in terms of display coating the Neo G7 has the best anti-reflection matte coating I've ever seen on a monitor and TV, has amazing contrasts and deep blacks, also it has smart features and connect over youtube, Netflix etc.. will be great if you find it for a good deal, but since its 144hz not sure if for competitive games its enough for you, I think for that case you would need lower resolution display with higher response rate and low input lag, this one has some input lag, but overall its a very appealing Monitor/TV, I loved it, just ghosting effect wasn't that good

I just learnt about PWM backlight dimming thanks to you, is there another type that is better for local dimming ? You are right because when the screen is total dark especially there's always an ever slight flickering when there's some white elements appearing and disappearing above all when i have local dimming on high, it's like in-out effect of the dimming and brightness

@@TECHOSAUR I had the QN90B TV and it uses the same PWM backlight which caused me a lot of eyestrain. Samsung are notorious for using PWM on their TVs so given that this is based on a tv it probably has the same 960HZ flicker drawbacks. A lot of mini LED monitors use PWM because its easier and cheaper to control a lot of backlight zones with PWM vs DC dimming. There is no easy way to know if a display uses PWM dimming other than to get one and test it. There is the FV43u which is the same size but without Mini LED that uses a DC backlight.
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
@@callum2277 oh okay, i had no idea about PWM and DC dimming, quite interesting, but when you go with the FV43U for the good dimming you traded off MINI-LED that gives better contrast, do you think the QN90C is worth to compare to the NEO G7 ? i'm thinking getting it to learn the difference since they both have 43"

@@TECHOSAUR I owned a QN90A 50" which had great colours and contrast but the PWM would give me migraines. I also own the GP27Q mini-LED and that has minimal flicker and great performance after the new firmware update but its only 27". I was hoping the Samsung 43" would make a nice upgrade to the FV43U but the flicker is a deal breaker. I find the FV43u exhibits similar ghosting/performance to your video however I use it more as a TV/console display. I would imagine they are very similar after all 300 zones is not good for 43" plus the fv43u can get brighter. I would rather have a C2 OLED but it would burn in so quickly with my work.

I see this video has been shared for a long time and the comments are old and I might not get a response but I'll ask anyway and maybe someone can help. Is this screen suitable for movies. I am looking for two monitors or TVs that are at least 32 inches or one large screen of 65 inches with the possibility of making it into two separate screens. I don't play games and don't intend to. I watch movies and edit videos. These are the two things I need it for and I don't know what would work for me OLED or some other screen. Any recommendations?
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 4 ай бұрын
Hello, this monitor is primarily designed for gamers due to its high refresh rate of 144Hz. If you primarily watch movies, consider a 60Hz monitor to get one with a lower price and higher color grading. This one is intended for gaming and consoles. However, I personally use the Samsung QN90C 43", which is a small-form-factor TV. It also has a high refresh rate and an excellent HDR experience. It has fewer ghosting issues than the Neo G7 if you use it for web browsing and desktop use. I have used it for all purposes, including work, gaming, video editing, and coding, and I have been using it for a year. I like it for its deep blacks and local dimming; it feels very similar to OLED blacks and yet is brighter thanks to mini-LED. Thanks for the review. Could you please tell me the bezel width? In pictures it looks like the bezel is relatively thin, but it seems like the picture doesn't fully fill the screen, particularly on the sides & top - or is that just an illusion & the bezel is actually thicker than it looks? This is very important for me as I'm looking at buying 3 as a triple monitor set-up, primarily for simracing. The bezel free kits can only cover so much. If it's too thick I'll be looking at the QN90C.

@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
I previously owned the G70A, which is quite similar to the G70B in terms of panel technology the G70B has an upgrade of having TIZEN OS and is 32". I can confirm that ghosting wasn't present on the G70A, it uses IPS display technology, while the Neo G7 43" uses VA technology. The G70B/A lacks mini-LED, which makes them inferior in terms of brightness and contrast ratio to the Neo G7 43", which also has HDR 600 instead of 400. While the G70B/A is G-sync compatible, the Neo G7 43" isn't, but it has AMD FREESYNC. I'm hopeful that NVIDIA will release a driver soon which makes it G-SYNC COMPATIBLE, but I don't have a date for that. The Neo G7 43" has a higher pixel density of 104 PPI compared to the G70B's 93 PPI. Lower is better, Despite its size, the 43" display still looks sharp and crisp in 4K. If you're choosing between the Neo G7 43" and the G70B, I highly recommend the Neo G7 43" if for a good price However, I plan on reviewing and comparing it to the Samsung QN90C, which is a newly released 43" mini-LED TV. It will be interesting to see if there are any differences between a monitor marketed as a 43" and a TV marketed as a 43". also to see if the QN90C suffers the text ghosting as Neo G7 43" the Neo G7 43" has game motion plus but I can't use it on PC, it seems to work only on consoles like PS5

And the game motion plus will be work on the g70a or B in any terms? Even for pc? And for the g7nc only while playing on the ps5? By the way do you have maybe the dimensions of the stand only of the g70a? The height dimension, I want to make sure I have available space for my setup! Thanks again 🙏🏻
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
@@YGadgETech Indeed, the G70A has a smaller size, resulting in a higher pixel density and a sharper image. However, a 43" 4K display still offers clear and crisp text and visuals. The Mini-LED technology is certainly worth considering, as it provides improved brightness accuracy due to the higher LED count. In addition, the NEO G7 43" model features around 360 local dimming zones compared to the G70A's mere 16 zones. This results in a superior HDR experience, particularly in darker scenes. As for Game Motion Plus, it was not available on my G70A, and I cannot confirm its presence on the G70B. However, I can verify that the NEO G7 43" supports Game Motion Plus for consoles like the PS5, although the option is greyed out for PCs. Regarding stand dimensions: G70A 28" with stand: w63 x h57 x d24 cm G70B 32" with stand: w71 x h60 x d31 cm width x height x depth

@TECHOSAUR Жыл бұрын
@@YGadgETech I apologize but I can only provide you with the dimensions of the stand for the G7 NEO 43" monitor at this time. The stand measures 25 x 22 cm, and the overall height of the monitor with the stand is 63 cm, with the height of the stand alone being approximately 7 cm. While the LG OLED Flex is a dream for everyone, I feel that it's overpriced. I previously had the LG C2 42", which has a similar panel to the OLED Flex and performed well for media consumption and gaming. However, it wasn't ideal for my use case, as I happen to use static image software like coding or video editing, it starts to dim after some minutes if you leave a static image to protect itself against burn-in, and also the auto brightness limiter in white windows like when browsing the internet is kind of annoying. I also experienced issues with my C2 42", as it stopped working after five months then LG fixed it under warranty, but 2 weeks after they send it back it sustained a small knock to the bottom corner while I was moving it and LG refused to fix it as it was considered damage caused by me. If you are considering the LG C2 42", I suggest checking for enough space and avoiding placing it in an area where it could be easily damaged. It's a fragile monitor compared to other options. when i had it i constantly had to worry but anything and my doubt happened to be real as i lost it after 5 months, so i think a MINI-LED monitor for me hit the spot
