oshawott98 3rd [third alt account] it's not that they don't support it. Samsung pay uses both technologies(NFC and MST) so if one doesn't work then the other one will and what I have found is that the signal gets read but it's what the clerk does with the signal. For example the Belk near where I live has the EXCACT registers that the Belk a few miles away has, yet it only works at one of those Belks.

In Australia Apple Pay works at any terminal that accepts pay pass, which is basically everywhere

Completely different story in Canada. Everywhere takes NFC, including mom-and-pop shops because of how accessible things like Square terminals are. I haven’t used my physical card in years.

Even by the time, this video was released, we rarely used magnetic strip on cards in the shops. You either used NFC enabled cards + typing PIN if payment was above 500 CZK (~ 22 USD) or Apple Pay / other services (no PIN required) or old fashioned chip + entering PIN code everytime even if you paid few Czech Crowns :) I have actually never used magnetic strip in any European shop so far :) Funny fact is that my internet banking app (mBank CZ) by default disables magnetic strip on their cards

Wait till people find out what happened to the S21 in 2021 MTS will be missed R.I.P. MTS best magic trick that I used in store's ever that would make somebody's day and was super useful. For history's sake I used it at least 60% of the time I purchased with my phone which happened about 80% of the time I went to buy something.

Idk about other countries but here in Canada every store has a tap machine so we basically can use Apple Pay everywhere even in the smallest convenience market.

Pretty much every merchant in Australia accepts contactless payments such as PayPass, PayWave and mobile payments. It's really nothing new to us. Why hasn't America gotten into the habit of inserting chip cards and tapping them as well while other countries have had it for years?

RedLight GreenArrow I went yesterday to Kaiser Permanente and they had the machine with NFC symbol but they told me it wasn't working (she stated that apple pay didn't work), funny thing is that it worked with Samsung Pay and the lady was shocked.
