The s95b does push a ton of red in default. After calibrating it though the colors look perfectly natural to me. I wonder if there would be a difference between the calibrated s95b color settings and the s95c

Great comparisation! The quality of your video's have gone up! I was waiting for the release of the 77 inch and the addition of Active tone mapping is giving this the extra juice. Still will wait a little bit longer before ordering as i would like to see if Sony's A95L will be having this also. Don't mind paying the Sony tax if the Sony can get as bright as the S95C

I had buyers renorse after getting the 95b and seeing how dark it is, i learned about the existence of the 95c 1 month later so i bought it too to compare, i literally had them both side by side and was set on returning the one i dont like.. its been 3 days and im still.undecided, call me crazy but the 95c is brighter, yes, and skin tones are a bit better, but the image is more sharp and the motion more fluid on the 95b.... am i missing something or is this normal? Basicslly you chose between brightness and sharpness?? Oh and the sound is MUCH better on the 95b

Definitely, I went into the service menu and turned my base luminance up to 75 and it looks better than both of these TVs.

I went into the service menu and turned the base luminance a little higher to 80. Edit the HDMI port to game. Turn the brightness and contrast all the way up. Turn the color up to 41. Bring the sharpness down to 0. Turn Contrast enhancer to Low or high. Turn shadow detail and gamma all the way down. Turn the color space to native. Turn the temperature to warm1. Turn the backlight panel to high. Use those settings. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

Can you do a comparison with the S90C with active/static tone mapping vs S95C? I think it might look a lot closer to the S95C. It’s supposedly a bit brighter than S95B and slightly less than S95C. It might be the best option.

I've had the S95B for about six months now. I paid 1300 GBP in the sale and that included a Samsung S800b soundbar and woofer thrown in. Can't go wrong. So far, I am really happy with both. Well worth the money and I do not think the S95c would at all be worth the additional expense unless you really have money to burn.

Seriously they should do both of these, ill be making a video to bring attention to the S95B to be updated I don't think it'll help but I encourage everyone to be loud about this and ask for it just in case. Remember they did bring some new tv features to older models in the past so its not out of the realm of possibility.

One more option im considering, that is why im writting to you again, is getting a s95c for 2500 euro and using it fully offline not even connecting to internet at all. There’s barely a difference in picture from S95B to S95C. If it’s the same size I say get the S95B because S95C isn’t worth the difference and the c2 isn’t as good as the S95B imo

As a S95B owner I have zero urges to upgrade to S95C. The S95B is still just fine for me and I paid only 900€ for it. Also I've got a S811B Soundbar for only 300€. The soundbar itself makes almost no difference because the sound of the S95B is already great but the Subwoofer is a huge game changer.

ACTIVE HDR sounds good on paper, but I think it can cause trouble depending on the scene, I love a dynamic yet natural look, therefore I don't know if I would use this feature. the c model definitely seems like a matured b model, as expected.

Exactly its like LG with DTM I will only use it with certain TV shows and lots of games. With movies I feel like I might use it a lot less as it does kind of make it feel like your at the set of a movie rather than watching the movie if that makes sense, sometimes you just lose the art style entirely.

I think for me coming from a B7 even without all this Jazz the S95C would be a massive jump. On my LG at max I was just using DTM on low but I could never decide between better highlight details(DTM) and better shadow details(DTM off)

@@nestroit5010 It sounds like you might love the S95C on static mode, I had a C7 and I liked it a lot but man the game mode was really dim and it didnt have DTM in game mode I don't know if they ever them a firmware but I dropped it in 2020 because of the brightness.

@@TechWithKG yeah, LG absolutely destroyed the 7 Series with that Gaming Update, even the 6 models were brighter in gaming mode because of that. DTM is available for the 7 models, but only low is really useable, not just because of the shadow details but also because the colors get washed out on mid or high. (since color volume/brightness was garbage on WOLEDs until now with the G3) with the 7 models you gotta be lucky that the games allow you to boost the brightness in the hdr settings without ruining the blacks. its a gamble.

Hey KG, Vincent Said in his review that the G3 looses color luminance in game mode. Would be awesome if you could compare color luminance in highly graded hdr content like horizon forbidden west with the S95C. Would also be awesome to see how exactly expression enhanced affects the picture in game mode. Would be much appreciated!

I would guess any color luminance issues with the G3, likely come down to it being WOLED. This is a strength of QD OLED. I haven’t seen any faults in that department with the S95C in trying different games.

Closer to reality.... I.e walking outside. There is PLENTY of room for Improvement for OLED brightness, particularly for large bright scenes. Specular highlights in dark scenes are fine though (which are the advertising figures that they're selling you).

That s95c brightness is the biggest advantage over the s95b. IMO color enhancement is pretty good in the s95b as it is, so although the s95c is better, it's not as big a factor.

I don’t sorry, the results in fmm and movie mode would basically be closer to what S95C is in active though, after they forced DTM off on the S95B fmm and movie update change where as after the update it’s basically what static mode is.

With anapeak you solve all on s95b and you can return picture quality on the same level as s95c. On s95 they reduce brighnest before just s95c comes out. This is just marketing trick and nothing more. Only what have s95c is oneconnect box and that is all changes made on s95c

I'm disappointed to have bought the s95b, only to realise that a brighter Tv came out one month later... brightness is a real issue with OLED but they improved it by 30%. Now my question is, is te difference REALLY noticeable, enough to try and sell my actual TV and buy the 95C ? Great video! I am surprised that there really isn’t that big of a difference. Samsung marketing “200% Brighter!” Is typical sales marketing… misleading. The display is CAPABLE of 200% brighter but that doesn’t mean Samsung is going to push the display to be 200% brighter.

I do understand the exposure difference due to the camera, but it looks like the settings that were used benefit S95C more, as S95B looks much dimmer than it actually is. Is your S95B in a different mode? Or it on different firmware. Earlier firmwares has dynamic tone mapping forced on in filmmaker and movie mode. The latest one acts like the static because DTM was forced off on fmm and movie mode. Basically the S95C takes that forcing away and gives you the option to watch it how you like.

@@TechWithKG Thanks. I am mainly on Filmmaker mode for HDR on the latest firmware. When I want or need a brighter picture I switch to Movie mode with identical settings to Filmmaker, but with Contrast Enhancer at low. I believe that a little brighter Filmmaker mode of S95C is what I am missing on my S95B for some occasional HDR content. What I would definitely appreciate is less aggressive auto dimming. For example, the first scenes of The Whale got dark every 10 minutes to the point of unwatchable, so I had to call up the menu to reset ABL. I am curious, is it same on S95C?

Being my 65in S95B is still on factory firmware 1098, I'm already over tracking and I have great pop to my image without being distracting in content. I mostly game. I wanted the 77 but I'll save money and keep what I have, at least until I can get the 77 for 3K or better.

It doesn't look that great, it smooths out 30 fps a bit, but it's still not smooth. Latency is extremely low which is a plus.

I have to agree, there’s no need to upgrade from the S95B if it’s working for you size aside, especially with calibration and certain “service menu”adjustments.

I currently have the Sony X85J and Sony X85K because they are flicker free. I need flicker free because of eye strain/headaches. I would love to upgrade to the Samsung S95B/C or Sony A95K or LG G3 or Samsung QN95C. Are any of these new 2022/2023 models flicker free?

The S95B has a similar feature to get the most "pop" out of the picture as well. It's called "Enhanced" I believe. I use it and and love what it does to highlights and picture quality. Complete picture "Accuracy" is way over rated. Has the colour space AUTO switch been resolved yet ? Great vid KG

S95c has more shadow detail because it gets brighter. U see only black on when the Koi fish is swimming on the s95b and on the s95c u see the rocks at the bottom
