Michael, you just saved me. My Samsung stopped during cycle, top lid locked and when I power cycled, I had nothing. Your reset worked. This particular washer had a recall within a few months for top lid blowing off and it was so widespread Samsung hired Dish Network techs to install a 'fix'. It's under the 5 year 'secondary' warranty from my retailer and they couldn't get out till next week and I still would have to pay a service call. I'm considering just buying new. Thanks!!

Hi Michael, thanks for the video. I tried this a while back and it worked amazingly, however, the problem has reared its head again and this time, the reset is not working. You mention to make sure that the machine is turned "off" but since the machine is not powered up, there are no indicators showing what position the washer is in ie. whether it is actually off. How can you tell if its off when the power is not coming on and all the LEDs are out?

Is this procedure specific to an individual machine? I have a Flexwash unit that will not power on at all. A couple weeks ago, the electricity flickered off-on-off-on, and the following morning the washer wouldn't turn on, it's dead...I think possibly, the power flickering the night before, caused it. I noticed the electrical breaker was flipped. I reset the breaker, everything else on that breaker circuit is fine, but the washer. I tried a different electrical outlet but no luck. I'm guessing either the noise filter or the power board is toast.
@DIYwithMichaelBorders9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, it’s a standard reset procedure for all manufactured washers. Since it’s not working for your washer, it’s likely that the flickering of power hurt your machine. Power surges can cause havoc on the internal electronics and it’s likely that your washer will need a new control board. Keep us posted. 🧰

Thanks for watching and sharing this. Great to hear you’re back up and running. A few things can cause this however most common is a power outage. Another common cause that leads to sporadic panel behavior is when the buttons are pressed extremely fast and lightly….leading to an electrical glitch…kinda like how one can get a quick wave of cold chills. We recommend slow and gentle applications to the buttons as opposed to fast and reckless applications. 😁👍

I found a way to prevent the need to reset the washer by simply putting a power surge protector on the outlet and plugging the washer into the surge protector. It seems to filter the electric surges enough to keep the washer from needing to be reset. It should work, but even if it doesn't it is cheap insurance to keep the circuit board safe from a large power surge. My 2 cents.

This has worked before, Today it did't work so I went farther , Checked the fuse and it was good. After doing the reset a few times I had to walk away. Come back 1/2 hour are so later, hit the on botton and it started. Had to unplug to but all back together, and now it will not work. Have tried the reset multible times and it will not start. What do you think?

Ok, is there a time frame it can take after the reset? After taking the time to post...I went back in and.....it started. By the way this has came up after a power outage. But both times it has worked it was after a delay. First time was over 24 hours. This time was after resetting all mourning. Must have tried it 20 times. Don't understand the delay. Lets hope we don't have any more power outages.

what if it suddenly dies while plugged in, does it mean it overheated or is damaged sir? We have the same washing machine but ours suddenly died while plugged in and then didn't work. what can be done?

Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community. That’s no fun. Its likely to be a faulty control board. Replacing control board is a friendly and worthwhile investment. Keep us posted. 😎👍

Does not work. It stopped working while washing. It's turned off with the lock closed and wet things inside... it won't open or turn on... What do you recommend?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders11 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, that’s no fun. We would perform this reset procedure a second and third time to see if you machine snaps out of its glitch. If that doesn’t work, below is a link to our video showing an additional procedure to perform. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHWyeImqobp3qdUsi=wnMlRBV1jhQNKj0n If your control board has failed, it will need to be replaced.

Panel turns on, but there's a clock icon and wash settings cannot be changed. Buttons do nothing. There's no sound. Will the reset fix that? Only default cycles work.

@@4RunningHorses Good morning ☕️ you may want to try this reset procedure a second and third time. We have talked to many viewers that have mentioned that the first attempt was unsuccessful however, the second or third reset attempt worked. 🧰

Mine will power on and all buttons work but the dial stopped responding, will this fix that? This happened after I changed the shocks, is there a connector I might have disconnected underneath the washer?
