Күн бұрын

In today’s video, we’re taking you on a little do-it-yourself Buenos Aires food tour. We had 3 days in the city before catching our flight back to Canada, and we basically spent those 3 days eating our favourite foods, and getting our fix of classic Argentine dishes! In this video, we’ll be trying different cuts of steaks that are far too big not to share, ordering every slice of pizza at one of our favourite pizzerias, tasting different types of milanesas made with chicken and veal, and of course, sipping on Malbec as we say our farewell to the city. At the end, we’ll share our journey home, and the welcome from our beloved Togo. But now it’s time to eat, so bring your appetite and let’s kick off this Buenos Aires food tour!
So, first up we visited a bodegón, which is one of those old-fashioned restaurants, typical of Buenos Aires, where the portions are abundant and the food is good! We opted for steak at this restaurant. We ordered the entraña, which is a thin cut of beef, and the bife de chorizo, which is the sirloin strip steak. The bife came with a fried egg on top and a giant platter of french fries, rice, potato salad, and mixed salad. It was a lot of food and that dish along would have been plenty for 3 people. The total was $45 USD or $15 per person.
The next day called for pizza! Mainly because Sam instead we couldn’t leave Buenos Aires without visiting one of its oldest pizzerias. Güerrín is located on Corrientes Avenue right in the heart of the theatre district, and the place is always packed. We ordered every individual slice on the menu to give you an idea of what this pizzeria has to offer. There was Napolitan, Pomarolla, Fugazzeta, Anchovies, and the house speciality, Güerrin with red peppers, green olives and lots of mozzarella. The total for that meal with beer was $25 USD or $8 per person.
For our final day in the city, we decided to eat milanesas and supremas. These are breaded cutlets, the only difference is that one is made with veal and the other with chicken breast. This is another classic Argentine dish that needs to be added to your Buenos Aires food tour when you visit. The total for that meal was $40 USD or $13 per person.
And that’s how we feasted during our last 3 days in Buenos Aires. We also consumed plenty of cafe con leche, medialunas, and ice cream, which explains why we might’ve been a little heavier when we got back home and stepped on the scale. But hey, Argentina is a place where you come to eat.
But now let’s travel back to Canada and say hello to Togie!

Buenos Aires FOOD TOUR 😋 | Eating STEAK, PIZZA + MILANESA Before Leaving Argentina ✈️:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.

This was a great video! There are a couple obvious conclusions. 1) Buenos Aires is an amazing food city. 2) I don't think it is possible to be in a major city anywhere in the world and find the type of quality and quantity of food for a lower price than in BA. Just an amazing value. You guys live in Canada, which is obviously an expensive country, and you can't get appetizers for the price of a steak in Argentina. 3) Audrey, your Dad is so proud to be Argentine and he finds only the best in things there. 4) I haven't been to Argentina for about 20 years and it's time to go back! Great job on the video series.

Thank you very much! Indeed, when we visited BA offered great value. Things in Argentina can change though depending on the economy. A few years ago we heard from friends it was very expensive. Hope you can revisit as soon as it is safe to do so again.

Was it Presidente Roca?! Because we've definitely stood outside that building marvelling at the architecture and wondering what it must be like inside. There are some beautiful buildings in that part of the city! And that after-school pizza slice sounds like a great tradition! Hehe 😉🍕

Yet another sensational video with me drooling and seriously contemplating a visit to Buenos Aires, when the plague goes away. Note to your dad. As you know, Toronto is a culinary delight with many restaurants from foreign climes. I like to go to Country Style on Bloor Street West in the Annex, where their schnitzel is larger and probably just as tasty as the one i was just recently drooling over in Buenos Aires! Thanks for sharing guys. Cheers, Colin.

It's March 2021, about 11 months after this video was posted. This is my first video for these vbloggers. What steakhouse did you go to? Guerrin is very good & touristy! La Mazzeta has the best fugazzetta & is off the beaten track, locals & cheap! What restaurant did you go to for the milanesas? Again, it looked very touristy! Don Ignacio has the best milanesas in BA & is off the beaten track, few tourists & cheaper prices! So, you guys really stick with the typical touristy stops.

Thanks Laurence! Well, we've had milanesas at quite a few places including Don Ignacio (video here): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ-9aZKua5aYoqc Also at Los Orientales which is a good local spot: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n32ucnSjpLt3msU

Though BA was the city for reasonably priced good steak, just got back from lunch, 2 rib-eyes, one with fries, one with salad ( priced separately from the steak, 2 glasses ( not bottle) of Malbec - US$ 136 Steak was good but not much better than a Longhorn Steak House where same meal would cost me around $55-60, salad and fries included

Sorry to hear that, Chris! That is EXTREMELY overpriced and not at all what it should cost, but it also depends on where you go. Some places cater to foreign visitors with prices to match.

Guerrin is good but not the best. Just go to "Las Cuartetas" , I thing is older than Guerrin, in corrientes st. (not to far from the Obelisc). The subway lets you to 50 meters far from Las Cuartetas. Greetings

Without doubt there is some amazing looking food in this video Guys !! However that pizza is far from authentic with it's Argentinian influence - pizza connoisseurs would be hyperventilating at the sight of it though. I personally would go to those places. Thanks !!

I love it when people who have no clue about food and wine start talking about it. Pizzeria Güerrin is a classic, but the pizza isn’t really that good there any more. The other places are low-quality. Also Bodegón is not the kind of place you expect to get good meat in Buenos Aires. It’s a place workers go to for a quick lunch. Also, you either can go for a ‘fancy’ milanesa or you go to a pizzeria for the best ones. Regarding the wine, Terrazas de los Andes has an interesting history as a high altitude vineyard, but it’s a mass production facility owned by Moet & Chandon that produces cheap wine for export really.

I like to watch travel vlogs, also those which are related to food. What I don't like is to not being able to follow the travel routes. I would want to know how people get from point A to B and how they managed to do so. Most travel vlogs who do so are appriciated and gain subscribers. Your subscriber gaining is below general level. Please tell people how you have gotten from Mendoza to Buenos Aires and I am sure that your efforts will be appreciated subscriberwise. I still loved to see how Togo has welcomed you on arrival.

From Chiang Mai to Macau during a crazy storm. So turbulent that everyone on the plane screamed a few times. Even the flight attendants looked terrified which they usually don't. Just feel lucky to be alive after that.
