This was a very amazing speedrun! Almost made it to 1:25:xx! I saved a lot of time from playing way better, faster but RNG based Early Space Jump, better understanding jumps on water for Early Screw Attack and riskier strats with E.M.M.I.'s.

I'm so bad at this game. 1st boss died like 5 times, emmi deaths constantly, didn't see where the kraid-entrance was so looked all over for that. and yea this is probably not gonna be a fun time with kraid boss

Wild to me that some people beat this game in like 6 hours blind. I didn't have quite that much trouble with Kraid but like the games hard and bosses were definitely time consuming. Guess not for everyone

Wanted to say a massive thank you man. Using your tutorial series (and then following one of your Any% videos for the rest of the route) I just cut my original casual time of 11h40 in game time down to 3h55, getting the under 4hours achievement along with it. You explain stuff superbly. Definitely going to come back when the whole tutorial series is out and try and improve even further, as I know my back half was sloppy because I was sort of having to reverse engineer what I was watching you do, where I know you'd explain it better. Even still, basically cutting my time down by 66% is huge so thanks!!!!

Can we just admire this sequence of wall jumps 17:14 Wow, the wall jumps were impressive but the non-stop speed boost from the Yellow EMMI's death to leaving Ferenia was mind-blowing 41:46. Not to mention that he obtained 10 missiles in between all of that.

Curious, would it be possible to skip storm missiles and wave beam? I don’t know how much extra damage wave beam does, but you only used storm missiles on Raven Beak twice, making the only reason to get storm missiles is to get wave beam.

Even before I saw how you beat that beetle boss in Ferenia I thought, huh that hallway seems like a long run up, and sure enough you use a shine spark. Using this as a reference has made me so much better at the game

I have a question for you, if you’d like to look into it or already have. Do the free damage counter sequences during boss fights actually cause extra damage? Can you defeat them just as fast without countering? Excluding the bosses that require counters to end the fight of course.

Countering bosses and going to animation to damage them is found out to be slower, you deal less damage against Corpius and Kraid as an example. I don't know how much is the difference, but I did notice significance difference while fighting Corpius especially.

Speedrunner: Gets skips with ease, allowing for a very fast time of an hour and a half. Me: Spending 20-30 minutes on the one skip trying to replicate the video. Right now for me, it's that bit immediately after getting screw attack, just can't seem to get Samus past that water line since Wall Jumping is disabled now.

I never knew that little movement the EMMI does before the face plating breaks off means it's been destroyed. I always kept firing because I didn't think it was melted yet. there were a lot of times when I juuuust didn't have enough time to charge up the finishing blow but now that I know exactly when I can start charging, I should be able to kill them faster. Thanks!

I tested all kinds of bosses over and over and mashing is always faster. I don't know what the heck you're talking about maybe early game when you don't have good weapons then missiles are faster but... That is not what I experienced

You can’t get early gravity suit if you skip ice missiles.

So I beat the game the first time and got 100%. Found it annoyingly difficult on the bosses and didn’t think I’d go back for another run, but it stayed on my mind. I went back thinking I’d just not do the back track for 100% at the end and that alone would get sub 8 hours. Then I started seeing your speed runs and videos and seeing how to be better. I got better and better as I played the 2nd run and was shedding more and more time and managed to get sub 4 hours on that run without sequence breaking. Very chuffed with that, thank you for how useful your vids are as guides. Now there’s just hard mode 😰
