I have one of these saws, and the ONLY issues I have with it is that I’m left handed and want a left handed scabbard for my climbing harness, and the hooked handle can catch on twigs when climbing. I recently had my saw removed from the scabbard with out my knowledge while climbing through a tree canopy. My saw was left hanging from a branch and I have to retrieve in.

Hi one green thumb. Thanks for this helpful information. Yes I would say that they slide in and out a bit easy may be they should have a catch or something to stop them coming out. Many thanks for the comments all the best Calvin

I just ordered a samurai with a green handle after reading some good reviews for thirty five us dollars. One guy on KZbin was complaining about it not being full tang like the silky and might break under stress binding.

I use one for campfires while backpacking. A great saw, but the screws did come lose..blue loctite fixed the problem. It has done quite a bit of cutting small branches to 8 inch logs.

Good honest video again, nice one Calvin. I think pull saws can afford thinner flexible blades as the effort is pulling the blade through, if the cut was on the push then it may need to be a little stiffer.☆☆☆☆

I like the way you talk. Have you happened to bare knuckle box before? Haha. I want one of those saws now, the name samurai makes them way cooler too. Great review man.

You’re comparing two different types of blades. The green handled one is 240 teeth and the red one is 330 teeth. The 240 is for very fine cuts and the 330 is for large aggressive cuts. Comparing these two saws against each other there is not a fair comparison. They are each good saws when you use them for what they are designed for. You can buy a 330 blade for the green handled one. Unless you are looking for a very fine cuts most people would prefer the 330 teeth.

I have the same saw and while is razor sharp my complaint is that the blade is thin and bending easily.

What an awesome video. If you wanted to you could be a Welsh ninja. Btw the curved blade is for cutting above your head or below your waist. The straight blade for shoulder to waist height. Not really a fair test. Good video though. C’mon Bryn Goch.

You should have bought Silky buddy. These dont have a full tang and the handle will break. Also the blade will rust
@oinc73202 жыл бұрын
Full tang, the replacement blades seem to use, bolt to the whole handle, just how far back outside the handle do you want? Try this thing called light oiling for rust. I opt for knifes that need oil coating over those that don't simply because they are field easier to sharpen. Yes things in this world are compromise, high grade stainless steel in cooking pots had to be downgraded, they will corrode now, because high grade stainless isn't magnetic. The performance and cost over a Silky isn't worth it. Have purchased both a $$$ Yeti powered coating 14 oz coffee cup, Ozark stainless steel. Both functions the same, hold the heat the same, both have nice heavy handles. Yeti is chipping off the powered coating at handle showing very ugly metal, Ozark coffee cup a trooper still hanging in there, about $7 bucks for the Walmart brand. Oh Yeti rubber O-Ring gasket went bad, harden, price a new lid, it now has a 32 ounce Ozart O-Ring replacement, 2 for $5.00 dollars. So I will take this brand over the hyped Silky cult, I can buy several replacement blades, still be ahead.
