7:46 I'm glad you call Heavy the anchor, he feels like a brick wall that you have to bulldoze through to get anything else done against the enemy team lol. Now all we need is an anchor cosmetic of some kind. Man its gonna suck seeing you not talking about TF2 anymore.
@eggroll551016 күн бұрын
I've always thought it would be funny if there was a reskin of the fists of steel that just made his hands like an anvil or an anchor or something else very heavy. Or even just as a regular cosmetic like the glove ones that rarely show up

It's a Valve game that released quite a few years ago and I am super excited to play it, alright let's starting with the training this game has to offer. defense in tf2 is basically territory denial, demoman excels here with sticky bombs, engineer with his buildings and the heavy just being the heavy
@Pudding40418 күн бұрын
Sam from his engie and heavy explination, really likes people playing around *him.* I respect playing Heavy as a roamer, and engie very angrily. I feel Demo has the highest unexpected damage output. When you shoot pipes and random stickies, you really only have intuition to go off of. Thus the enemy has to play around you the most.
@rockowlgamer63118 күн бұрын
Demoman and "unexpected damage output" should not even be in the same category.
@inductivegrunt9418 күн бұрын
I really enjoy playing defense as the classes speak to me with how they provide area denial and how they have some form of tankiness, be it having a higher health pool or by having another target the enemy has to deal with. That and playing defensive is something I like doing in TF2.
@insertnamehere665918 күн бұрын
I like playing defense classes because I love stuffing pushes by cocky-ass offense classes and watching them cry in the chat.
@Chaos_Vergil16 күн бұрын
The way you describe the 3 types of classes in TF2 is awfully similar to how people describe the 3 character slots for 3v3 fighting games like DBFZ or UMVC3. You have your Point, your Mid, and Your Anchor. The Point is the one that leads the charge in any fight and determines the flow of combat. They are the ones that get in and get out, building meter, doing damage, and are supported by their assists. The Mid acts as support and back-up for your Point character. They are the ones that you either use their assist for or switch in to in order to gain an advantage either through finishing off a character with a DHC or to gain some kind of advantage in the neutral. The Anchor is your last man standing. The one that you rely on when your back is against the wall. They either are the ones that best utilize the comback mechanic that the game uses or are the ones who you save your other resources for in order to push back the enemy. They also provide the Mid and Point with a good assist (ideally) in order to keep the fight going. Now, I know this analogy isn't perfect since you can freely switch between characters at any time during a match, but the TF2 mercs have ways to act outside of their typical class role with certain strategies or unlocks. Either way, it's a fun and interesting comparison to make.

5:30 the caber is just a very situational melee. It only really works in specific loadouts. Hybrid caberknight is kinda viable. Having a pocket ~360 dmg is pretty usefull and my favourite loadout which is the loch n load, tide turner and caber so it's actually possible to blast jump.

To me, it feels like demo and pyro should switch roles given how they actually played and have changed by updates and likes
@greenoftreeblackofblue662518 күн бұрын
No, pyro is there because of the ambush and playing off other teammates to spread that damage, demo can also do that but unlike pyro you have to reload. So fucking much reloading and you can't be close range or you die. He may do alot of damage, but you get that damage off better playing defensive. Such as pushing behind your Uber combo with the sticky bombs, while pyro would be the one ubered that's a better formation then the demo being uber and the pyro running ahead of him.
@greenoftreeblackofblue662518 күн бұрын
Pyro and demo play off well with each other for covering weaknesses. The airblast you may see as a defensive mechanic, but it's there so you can walk at the enemy soldier flames out (you never have to stop firing remember that). It's a tool to create space and keep it that space can be used to get in which is what pyro needs.

Here is some perspective from a Engi Main like myself that has played TF2 for a long time since 2014 Be it playing with the Mini or lvl 3 and trying to be offense or defense. What I really love to do is Deceptive Warfare when I want to have some fun. Run a Jag or Stock Wrench,Take a Shotgun or the Frontier Justice,Place a lvl 1 Sentry in a Higher or Hidden Corner Hide yourself near it or in a Pincer maneuver,and in Theory it should divert the attention from engaging you or the sentry. In Practice (Depending on class) the lvl 1 Knockback is huge compare to the lvl 3,it does work confusing most enemy at first,but some like Scout,Pyro,Demo ect (really fast classes be it on foot or flying) get flung out of the range or place you and the sentry together in the line of fire. Constantly changing positions and your own movement makes sure that your enemy is at constant paranoid feeling of where you will suddenly come out,unlike a spy where you can hear them,a engine and its sentry can really make for unique experiences for the enemy (Had friends in past freak out or panic as to how funny they had to choose between a lvl 1 or a Engi) Equal are dangerous,equal are worth to eliminate,but when you had to choose between one,by the time you choose,one of them will take you out. Question, are you going to be doing more TF2 content when you switch to a variety channel? As TF2 is probably the best game for your kind of videos, being half commentated gameplay and half random rambles about stuff, few games allow for that kind of video gameplay to happen very easily besides TF2. The only one that comes to mind is Minecraft, so I would like to know if you're going to keep doing TF2 videos or if this is the end of those videos.
@Samwiz118 күн бұрын
This is the end, unless Steel ever gets around to editing some streams in his backlog Go to Samwiz2 if things ever get figured out and that’ll be the last bastion of my content in the game

Defence classes are for slowing the game down. Heavy with his massive health pool. Demo and his stickies. Engie with his sentries and despenser. They are roadblocks or speedbumps that the enemy must overcome before taking the objective. Much of TF2 balance was focused on CTF and CP. The triad of Offence, Defence, Support reflects that.
