This is a great knot and has become very popular over the last 5 years.

I like your method, it works to tie the double San Diego jam knot too. I believe the double is the strongest knot there is…

I'm 65 years old. I learned this knot when I was a kid from my dad. Until recently. In ever knew it had a name. People just did it and never called it anything. Here, tie your hook on. And that was it.

I showed this knot to my Florida buddies, and they knew of it by the name “upside down knot” - Whatever the hell that is lol. Works as well for snook as it did tuna in the California Bight 😉

That kinda makes sense, it’s a bit like pitzen knot which is an upside clinch knot basically. The pinch point at the eyelet is what let’s down the San Diego Jam knot. But it is still a great knot on certain line categories. Tightlines.

@@toitfishing Does the Pitzen Knot have the same pinch point as the San Diego Jam Knot? Which is better?

How about a double san digo jam knot?

I like the way you went into finger placement! However, this knot requires more coordination than I'm capable of. I'll stick with the Uni and Double Palomar.

Mr. Toit, please tie and test the version of the "Doubled Through the Eye" San Diego Jam Knot that Seth Feider shows on KZbin for Fluorocarbon line...IT IS THE ABSOLUTE STRONGEST (and simplest) KNOT for Fluoro that I have personally tested against many knots!!! I also like the one that Shaw Grigsby demonstrates on KZbin but I feel Seth's knot is actually stronger!!! Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you sir!

Hi Blake, Glad you like the San Diego Knot. I will be reviewing all the double knots including both the knots you mentioned. I will be looking at a few line to line connections for the next few weeks, but will then return for a 2nd run at the terminal knots and see if we can get some movement on the WSK charts. Tightlines and thank you for your suggestions. Thank you Sir! ......that made me smile, to kind really. Just call me Warren or Wozza, take care.

This is not a new knot. I've been using it for over a decade, along with my friends. It's a good not, but not my only go-to knot. BTW, in the last step in this video, of pulling the line to bring it towards the hook or swivel,... no matter how much you wet it, if you hold the hook and just pull the line-end it will leave your line curly and twisted. A better approach is helping it down with your fingers, avoiding the line from being pulled against the swivel/hook hole.
