I own this watch in 39 mm and it is my favorite watch. For me, 39mm is perfeto and this watch is a tremendous value.I put it on a NATO band for one day, then switched it back to the stainless steel bracelet. The taper, fit and finish are fantastic and supremely comfortable!

I agree with your comments about the crown action it is incredibly smooth. Also agree with everything else stated although I am no expert! I ordered the watch after watching your amazing review, however, I am very disappointed with the whole process. I ordered on Aug 22. The watch was supposed to be shipped on Sept 10th, however, due to the shortages in NH35 movement, watchdives shipped it on the 14th of September. I was supposed to receive the package on the 20th, but then FedEx started to give me a runaround and then finally told me that they received an empty package in Memphis, TN, and that's why the package hasn't moved. I asked watchdives to follow up with them and then they told me that fedex lost the packaged. By this time I completely lost all interest in the watch and asked them to refund me the money on the 27th of Sept. They had a Federal holiday from 1st to the 9th. Today is the 13th of October and I have yet to receive the payment. I hope no one else goes through the process.

Then sapphire crystal replaced the Hesalite, acrylic, and plexiglass crystals as it was harder and more scratch resistant. I liked double domed sapphire crystal for the vintage look; but this is subjective, many collectors prefer the contemporary look of flat sapphire crystal. Regards, #WR4K

Yes, I think the only negative on this watch is the ugly ‘S’ on the signed crown. They should definitely use the hex logo if possible. Do you think using the PT5000 movement on this limited edition would have been better? Or a Miyota 9015 perhaps?

Thank you for watching Michael. San Martin are currently considering changing to the hex logo on the crowns of all their watches. I think this would be a great improvement; same hex branding on dial, crown, and clasp. The PT5000 is a higher grade of movement than the NH35A. It will be used in the 36mm version (as the NH35A is too thick). The negative is that means a price increase to circa 270 USD. 254 USD with NH35A is more appealing to the majority of collectors; they dislike paying more for a PT5000. The 9015 and 9039 are personal favourites of mine; I regard them as equal quality to the ETA 2824-2 and SW200-1. However collectors often perceive the NH35A to be better than the 9015 simply due to seeing Miyota 8205 movements used in cheap watches on AliExpress. Unfortunately this makes them perceive Miyota as lesser quality than Seiko. Yes, the NH35A is better than the 8205; but the 9015 and 9039 are higher grade Miyota movements. Regards, #WR4K

@@mikes41720 Yes, I was looking at the Islander Datejust homage. The 9015 is a personal favourite of mine. Excellent choice as its higher quality than the NH35A. However the NH35A is more popular with modders due to the plethora of dials, and hands available for the NH35A. I would like to review the SN-058 as the sunburst blue dial version looks lovely. Also the PT5000 is a good spec movement for the price point. Difficult to choose between the PT5000 and 9015 as they are similar quality, accuracy, and reliability. Regards, #WR4K

Definitely. 175 USD is a great price, even with some wear. Its easy to remove scratches from the bracelet's brushed satin finish using a green Scotchbrite pad (green back of washing up sponge). For scratches to the mirror polishing use Cape Cod polishing cloths from Amazon. The SN020-G is a perfect fit for 7-8" wrists. I prefer dive watches myself, and wouldn't normally wear a 39mm piece like this; but I really liked the fit and comfort level with the female end links. I am confident you will be delighted with it. Kind of a cross between a Black Bay 41 and an Explorer 214270. Quality looks good, SM are great in that respect at the price. I really don’t like that hex logo on the dial, it looks like an extra indice and creates an imbalance, would look better with a brand name written across - problem is San Martin is such a crap brand name people don’t want to see it.
