Great review WR4K! This is the best looking San Martin I've ever seen. I like how the bezel is smoother than the Rolex Sub and the snowflake hands and lume matching along with the bracelet and case finishing this watch has it all!! Just please San Martin get rid of that horrible dollar sign on the crown! That is the only downside of this amazing watch!

Such a beautiful piece! This is the definitive homage for everyone who wants a no-date submariner! If one is not fixated on having Mercedes hands! Double domed, boxed top hat sapphire, that is the best type of 'Glas' for any watch, just looks marvellous! One could easily say you’re a San Martin fan boy or paid by them, given all that praise you’ve given the piece! But, considering San Martin actually doesn’t send you watches anymore and that you now bought this SN006-G2 with your own money, this speaks for itself! The submariner it’s homaging, didn’t that have a date and a cyclops for it? Blue version and a fully lumed dial… Keep up the good work!

Yes Kurt, I am a San Martin fanboy. As stated in this video, I paid for this piece with my own money; therefore my review isn't biased because I was gifted the watch, or paid to review it. In the 1970's Tudor made the Snowflake Submariner in both date 94110, and no-date 94010 versions; in blue, and black. See picture below of a 94110 without a date complication. like this version more than my SN008 classic BB58 homage. A great advantage are the drilled holes for easy strap change. This bracelet is one of the best homage ones of all. Feels almost as the orginal one worn. If you know you have to heat up the screws of the bracelet of the both side screwed pins to loosen them to adjust without damage to the screws, it fits perfect thanks to the 4 options at the clasp. Excellent review - thx a lot.

Just an observation...I've noticed that you seem to get pieces from San Martin that are consistently more perfectly better than what I've gotten, which leads me to believe that they are very careful which pieces they send out for review. For example my Blue BB58 homage runs 14 secs slow/day and the threading can bind when winding the crown down, so needs care and sometimes back winding as not to have the threading catch. I'm very careful with my watches. Also my biggest complaint was that on my bracelet, they used far too aggressive an application of locktight and I was not even able to resize the bracelet myself. Neither was the first jeweller/watch store I went to. Even with two people trying. I took it to a watch repair specialty shop and it took them nearly half an hour, and a higher price than expected bill to resize the bracelet. They were concerned they might bit even be able to complete the resize part way through. Their finishing is fantastic, but either you've had unusually good luck, or they are more careful with the pieces that they send out for review. My other San Martin watch was less problematic, but still runs 11 second slow/day.

Did you use a butane blowtorch to break the threadlock bond between the screw pin and bracelet link prior to removal? Did the watch repairer? If the answer is no to the aforementioned that is why the screws didn't come undone freely. Often collectors use my channel as a platform to complain to me they received a watch with poor QC, or a defect; and as the watch I received didn't have the same QC, or defect; they conclude the brand must have cherry picked the watch I received. Alternatively they wrongfully accuse me of lying, or hiding the QC issue, or defect in the watch I reviewed. Complaining about your watch on my channel will not solve the problem. I am not the AliExpress reseller you bought the watch from. You need to open a dispute on AliExpress; and leave the seller negative feedback. This will motivate them to resolve the issue. Alternatively you can message Liao Jiaming (the owner of San Martin) on the Watchuseek forum where he is active. So I just received my sn006-g2 and sized it up to my wrist. I've also gotten the sn020-g2 limited. Very satisfied of the 006g2. The lume is stunning, the watch itself is stunning, bracelet was so easy to size. I definitely confirm that the S crown is drastically more legible and interesting to look at than the hex on the 020-g2 limited. If the hex was fully polished like the S logo with no beadblasted finish, it may compete with the S but right now, it's more of a hazy blob on the sn020-g2 limited. I'm fine either way. internet narrative made such a big deal of it, I don't find this much of a problem.

@@marekmusil3179 Thank you for watching Marek. I have an 8" (20cm) wrist and it fits me very well. Although the case is 39mm, it wears like a 40mm, as the bezel is 40mm. On your 7.5" wrist it would be a perfect fit. Comfortable, well balanced, but with 40mm of wrist presence, and a nice feeling of 150 grams of heft. @@watchreviews4k That's a shame, because it is very revealing about the movement inside. Put a PT5000 on the time grapher and you see one straight horizontal line. Change position and the line is still horizontal and you know you are dealing with a quality movement. Put a rubbish movement on and you see two lines all over the place and change position and you see a complete different picture again. It is the smooth horizontal line of a PT5000 or SW200 that makes me happy.

Can you tell me how many links are on this watch (not including the captive links either side of the clasp) Links in total up to the lugs. I've just purchased a used version of this which the previous owner had removed 3 links and I cannot get them back into the bracelet as it seems there is one missing as nothing fits!

There should be 7 links on the 12 o'clock side, 6 links on the 6 o'clock side, including end links (excluding fixed links in the clasp). Try fitting 2 links on the 12 side, and 1 link on the 6 side to make it correct to begin with. Then adjust the clasp, and remove links on the 12 side to size. Regards, #WR4K

See link to picture below. Below the balance wheel are the correct engravings of a genuine HK Precision Technology PT5000. Often the clones do not have these engravings. Good day, in your review you mentioned that the PT5000 actually comes from the HK precision unkike chronos, my question is how reliable is a PT5000? Is it safe to get a San Martin watch with a PT5000 movement, if it breaks down will a local repair shop can they fix it, or they need replacement parts similar to a PT5000 which is a swiss movement?, as I am concerned about the availability and support. I am curios, as I wnat to get the San Martin 36mm BB replica or homage but still having second thougts not pulling the credit card yet…

San Martin are using PT5000 movements from HK Precision Technology. They are reliable. Yes, any watchmaker can replace them. See my video below. I replaced a PT5000 with an LJP G-100. The PT5000 is a clone of the ETA 2824-2; therefore any watchmaker capable of servicing an ETA 2824-2 can service it. In reality its more cost effective to replace it with a new one every 5 years, rather than service; as they are currently circa 70 Euro on AliExpress. Regards, #WR4K

if this lume is the same as the one of my SN008 you can use it almost at flashlight in darkness. Personally it ist almost to bright for my taste. Often notice the glowing lume wearing the watch at day :D. One of the most shining watches of all I own.

I had a San Martin with PT5000 and the classic problem of very stiff winding was so bad, I had to return it to San Martin. So how can you be sure the PT5000 inside will be OK? Apparently also San Martin has problems with clone PT5000 delivery.

@@watchreviews4k It was already 2 years ago, with a Sinn homage. May be they updated their quality department since then. I own 8 San Martin watches. NH35, PT5000 and SW200 movements. All watches are incredibly well made and perform without problems, every time I wear one on rotation. I have three PT5000 movements, they all feel quite stiff when you headwind them. I actually can't be bothered about it, because I just shake them before wearing and forget about it. All PT5000 movements I own are performing within plus or minus 2s/day. So no complains about PT5000 from me anymore. That Sinn homage was a one off. I just did send it back to a free address in Madrid ( I live in Spain), and got my money back within days.

I have had this watch for 2 weeks and already it is not functioning. It is impossible to wind the watch and I have had this problem with other watches from San Martin with the PT5000 movement. So I will not buy anymore watch with this movement. It is a gamble and a bad one for sure

@@SweetChinMusix Soak the watch face down in acetone (nail polish remover) for 1 hour. This melts the adhesive ring under the ceramic bezel insert. Then rotate it clockwise and it will peel off without damage. The new insert will have an adhesive ring on it. Regards, #WR4K
