Sandi, I know it probably doesn't help with the frustration of preg tox, but I for one am intensely grateful that you have been so open about the struggle. I had my first case of preg tox this past lambing season and I couldn't get in touch with my vet. Because you have been so open about it I was able to notice the signs early and start treating her before the vet even called me back the next day. I managed to save her and one of her 3 lambs and I have no doubt that if you hadn't showed what the signs were and how you treat it, I would have lost both. So while I can empathize with how awful it is, I just wanted to say thank you.

It utterly breaks my heart 😞 to see Our Dear Sandy 😍 beating herself up so badly 😔 She can't see that there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING more she could have done to prevent this ✋ It's a 'be grateful we found it now' kind of situation that is a normal part of an evolving knowledge base for a skill. Hopefully, she will dive into the solution & cease lamenting the cause🙏 🤞😉😍 (I KNOW she will all about the solution ✋)

Hi Sandi! Mum and I are retired goats farmers, and we watch every video and compare and feel your frustrations and victories every time we watch. Please don’t ever feel embarrassed at the curve balls, that is truly what they are, that’s farming. To be a farmer you have to be a strong human mentally, physically and emotionally. And you are all those things. Thank you for sharing with us and taking us along your journey. We love you ❤

Sandy, the way you pay attention and know your ewes is wonderful to get to witness. You are anything but an embarrassment you are truly something that all people should try to be. Please be kinder to yourself but I get it. No one would ever come close to how hard I always judged myself. Lesson I learned, give the same grace and kindness to yourself as you would to others. So happy big Momma turned the corner for her own life but saddened that her babies didn’t survive.

Just so you know and not to pick on you or for you to pick on yourself, Sandi spells her name with an "i" on the end. My Mom's name is Sandra and she's called Sandy, and my middle girl's name is Sandra. She actually goes by Sammi. LoL Anyway, I figured you'd want to know. If not, you can ignore me or tell me to "bugger off." ❤❤❤

Sandi, a gentle reminder: it can feel earth-shattering when things are not going perfectly. You deeply care. The weather has been wild, and in general, things have been very busy for you and your family. You give your flock an incredible life and top notch care. Its not an assessment of your care or skill. Remember, nature is gonna be nature. You are doing incredible things. You got this, i promise . We are all cheering you on. ❤❤❤❤❤ take a long hot bath, do a puzzle with jess in the cabin, go rock climbing, anything that brings you joy. Self care, my friend. ❤

I hope she can realize that she really IS doing all she can. With the feed being changed, she still may have a few more with this group get preg-tox. We might not see a change until this next group due before Christmas. This waiting will be hard and hopeful!🎉🐑🎉🐑🎉🐑🎉

AMEN 🙌! Nothing more could have been done & that doesn't really matter anyway 👍 She knows it now & is a ninja about fixing it 🤩😍 I kept thinking the variable that may have stacked the deck against her is the contents of the feed 🤔🤷 I imagine, how a crop does & what values the end product has, varies quite a bit 🤷 Some crops or portions of crops may have less sugar & that would completely throw off the end ration. NO POSSIBLE WAY our dear Sandy could have controlled that ✋

First off, I love your videos and look forward to them. I also don't think you have anything at all to be embarrassed about. You do a fantastic job with your sheep. You love them and it shows. I don't think most of us ever know everything there is to know about our animals. We are always learning and that's one of the many many things you should be proud of yourself for. You are always willing to learn more and ask for advice. That says a lot about you and your love for your flock. You are amazing!

Sandi, bless your heart. Nature always finds a way. You are the best sheep caretaker ever! Showing us the sad part & the heartbreak is so brutal, but you help us care for our livestock. You're amazing! ❤ I'm so sorry for your loss.

I’ve lived in farm country most of my life. The stupid people in cars behavior never ceases to amaze me. We also have folks pulling stupid tricks with farm equipment (loads without adequate tie downs, driving 20kph on the freeway at rush hour, etc). It’s always a balancing act. I try to help the ones doing it right (stay behind them with your flashers on!), and dodge the goofy people. The worst is watching people do stupid human tricks with folks hauling horse or stock trailers! Hang in there!

No matter what kind of “farmer” you are (from experience) you have good times and bad times. Stay strong in knowing you are very good at what you do and some things are just out of our control. Stay strong!

Hang in there Sandi! It is frustrating when you feel like you are ahead then new challenges arise. Keep your chin up and take one day at a time, maybe even the hour. You know your sheep and trust your gut and your vet. Much love from Kansas! ❤❤❤❤

You have already figured this out. You did! And brought the issue up and the feed has now been corrected for close up ration. Missed it by that much. 😜

Sandi, you did great by realizing that your feed rations needed updated. Sounds like you should be updating weights and birth rates at least annually with your feed guy. And separating the grain from the rest of the feed should get all the ewes on a better path. You are making progress! This is good!

You are so amazing! You work so hard to do what is right by your sheep. Sometimes it's so hard to think outside what you normally do, there is real value in getting an extra set of eyes on things. As much as seeing those extra ewes that have high numbers..this and the other changes you are making might be what saves them and future ewes to come. You do the best you can with the knowledge you have..and you are always willing to learn..and in sharing your struggles you can be helping so many. Sending positive vibes your way...Ewe got this! ✨️🐑✨️
