*Refresher for why Suguha is bullying Kazuto:* Suguha and Kazuto used to be best friends but Kazuto abandoned his kendo lessons, resulting in their sexist grandfather abusing Suguha during her lessons to get her to quit but she pushed through. Their grandfather never wanted Suguha to learn kendo. Suguha initially tried her best to get Kazuto to come back to their lessons, but he shut her out to play video games. I am so curious to see how they handle Reckon here. SWE specifically set up the fact that he’s using a faulty NRV Gear and the original series completely forgets about his existence after his “heroic sacrifice” (I don’t remember him ever making an on-screen appearance after this, though I only got as far as the end of the Excalibur filler arc of the original series). Sword Art Online has a special place in many peoples' hearts, but these episodes... there's a reason why everyone makes fun of this show, and the Fairy Dance arc is absolutely it. I admire the sheer difficulty there is in parodying some of the worst writing I've ever seen in an anime or light novel - the fact that you turned the incest plotline into an interesting family drama was frankly all I needed to see. Can't wait till you guys wrap this arc up in three years!

Oh wow, this had no right being SO good. A proper character and character arc for Suguha, all that emotional stuff with her, Kirito and Recon; the catharsis of everyone coming to help them out and all of it being played (mostly) straight. THE TWEET BEING RELEVANT (and the S1 callbacks too!) You guys are miracle workers, thank you!! Also, Suguha being rescued from the dumb harem is a massive win all its own. PS. Who sung the cover of the OP? Or was it just a slowed down version of the original?

I’m happy to see Sugha have another talk with Kirito and apologize/acknowledge she can’t put their grandfathers abuse on him, they were both just kids. I know a lot of people felt off put, I imagine they were going to have this and that moment was just just Sugha finally getting her feelings out, not about being right or wrong, just getting them finally out so she can properly process and see things, same with Kirito/

Somehow you guys keep walking the line between giving mature conversations and comedy. The way the Kirito and Suguha plot is handled is incredible and the resolution actually makes sense. You always manage to give us touching moments and use comedy as the tension breaker it is supposed to be. I was crying tears of joy and laughing at the same time all throughout this episode. Recon and Leafa relationship finally got the attention and resolution we wished for. Happy to see best boy Recon finally get the love he deserves. So many anime would’ve used the ‘Spiders’ bit to completely undo the confession and cut off progress to keep stringing the viewer along but having it serve as a tension breaker and following it up with Leafa also confessing is just perfection. SAOA is filled with tropes that people normally ‘dislike’ in the genre such as romance which makes it the perfect example of how a good story is all about execution of ideas rather than the ideas themselves being bad. Hats off, 10/10 will be rewatching the entire series again.

This is one of the best ones yet. It just has a nice balance of jokes, references to the original SAO and to other SAOA stuff. Just generally funny and nice to watch. Good work guys
