Yep it's a lot of Hard Yakka to get the jems some people don't under stand how much blood sweat and tears are involved with mining !!! Great Video 👍

Thanks, BrownDog - yep, for all our effort we were rewarded with three small cuttable stones. We had one faceted and it's about the size of a risotto rice grain!

Don’t throw your rubbish stones on top for the direction your going to move in. You double your work. Bit of grease would help move that barrel. I use 2 half 44’s at willabee, one on each frame leg, gives you a better rinse. That sieves not centering well.

Happy Hamby Campers! Understandable when it’s other people’s equipment. Definitely not the sort of equipment you can carry with you, but I have a simple trick to let you work independently. When I take a break from my claims and full on work I like to walk through the Public Fossicking area and see who’s around. I take - 1 Small sieve Hand pick Hand shovel(garden tool) Old Plastic Flowerpot (sieve must fit comfortably in top if flowerpot) Piece of sack Spray bottle of water I make a small ridge of dirt on ground , dig small amount of gravel , put gravel in sieve, put sieve on flower pot. Rock pot over ridge of dirt to clean gravel, this can be very effective if you don’t fill your sieve. Flip sieve onto sack . (I do this all sitting on the ground and it’s so much easier on my back!) Spritz gravel and look VERY CAREFULLY. It is more difficult checking dry gravel, but you get use to it. If you’re in a vehicle you could add appropriate size plastic bowl for washing step. These bits and pieces can be carried easily and I found you don’t have to go big to find some stones. Now, someone’s going to say ‘ but you have a claim and a tourist doesn’t! ‘ , but I pay for a fossicking license and I like to see the sun sometimes!!! Hope it helps. Good luck!
