Really appreciate the walkthrough! Minus the monstrous dragon, was able to cold foil the rest of the deck. Aggro is a challenge when I run into it at local tournaments, but I’m banking on most going Ruby/Amethyst, steelsong and blue steel for the set championships.
@QuantumMercury8 ай бұрын
This can struggle into RA, but RA can also struggle into this.
@yolobro.8 ай бұрын
@@QuantumMercury True, especially against a skilled opponent. But since R/A has virtually no good item removal, and with addition of lucky dime, matchup isn’t as bad as it was set 2.
@QuantumMercury8 ай бұрын
@@yolobro. if you play against Ruby amethyst, you need to really plan out how your mid and late game turns are going to end up. It depends on how the game develops on the opponents and, but usually you want to establish your lucky time as early as possible to start gaining advantage without letting your phone get too wide of a board state.

This is my favourite Deck, but i fear that in Store Champs there will be a very weird offmeta loosersbracket. If you Hit early Aggro Decks, and Go in the loosing bracket into more Aggro Decks that got stomped by Steel.... You are doomed. 🙄 I:ll Play Something different i think 😢

I’ve been playing 2 copies of Agrabah to help with Aggro. It’s definitely helped me clutch games or at least apply pressure. Also, I just think you need to find space for at least 1-2 belles. It’s also a good bait card when you know they have spot removal mid game and then it can help ramp.

I made this same deck but instead of the 4 grandma tala and 4 gastons i I put the Ducktales (2 Huey, 2 Louie, 2 Dewey, Scoorge and Mcduck Manor) characters in. Deck runs pretty smoothly. And I can see how the gaston and grandma would be a choice...I just wanted a ducktales "themed" deck. It works with the ducks.

Could always play the 2 cost tala and belle. Play belle after dime is down and if they don’t handle it, it’s 15 lore in 2 turns :/

What do we do about emerald/ Amethyst bounce ? It feels like a rly bad matchup to me every time … and we have basically no answer to Ursula besides be prepared ? Do you have any ideas especially for the matchup ?
@christianbraun80678 ай бұрын
the biggest thing ive found is mulliganing any be prepared in your opening hand making ursula whiff. You have enough draw power that you should be able to find a be prepared eventually. going first is also really important in this matchup too. Even with those things this is still the hardest matchup for the deck.
@H1V3M1ND18 ай бұрын
I play rocket stitch to help with the matchup but if they open well and you don’t have the perfect answers it’s definitely the worst spot this deck can be in
@QuantumMercury8 ай бұрын
Emerald decks do give this some trouble, you need to stall for the end game, because they have no way to board clear you past 5-6 ink. The issue is if they push too far ahead you likely can’t comeback if they’re able to close out with Amethyst Goats. If you see more aggro you can tech in Locations and the Hei Hei/Rocket Stitch I mentioned to help beat aggro.
@misterchip19848 ай бұрын
I want to like this... but it's really weak against location based Ruby Amethyst. Even the hook and Maui aren't enough...

Lucky Dime really makes all the difference
@christianbraun80678 ай бұрын
I honestly have not had too much trouble with that matchup but I can see why it could be an issue.
@QuantumMercury8 ай бұрын
You have to remember that you’ll play matches differently. Against RA they should be valuing Goats and trying to aggro you. You should be aggressively scrutiny to set up Dime to push through their lore gain. If they drop Castle you have to have a Maui in reserve to put it ASAP.

Do you think noi would be alright? For 2 cost? It can trade well I think with 1 cost and with pawp you get the raise /ward. Plus quests for 2.
@QuantumMercury7 ай бұрын
No, Noi is way to fragile now with Smee, Hook, Snake, Rafiki, and Fox being used a lot.
@kevinavila54427 ай бұрын
Yeah true. What about Aladdin and shift for Aggro? Maybe even 1 cut to the chase if you can drop Aladdin. On 8 or shift for early plays. Or is that too slow.

The problem with Ruby Sapphire is if you lose round 1, you're paired up against aggro for the rest of the tournament and you have a terrible time.

@@LorcanaLiam Then yes, this deck will struggle with variance. Being anti meta makes it strong against the decks that dominate rogue and compete with other top decks

Would you say this deck or the R/A deck is better for the upcoming tournaments? I just can't decide which to play
@H1V3M1ND18 ай бұрын
Essentially ruby amethyst has no terrible matchups but few amazing matchups. Ruby sapphire on the other hand can sometimes struggle against aggro but eats most steel decks and goes over the top of most decks in the format. I would play whatever you’re more comfortable with but besides that unless you’re expecting a lot of aggro I would go Ruby sapphire
@QuantumMercury8 ай бұрын
RA is the most well rounded, RA is a meta call if you want to beat Steel.
@-ArcticEden-7 ай бұрын
really having a bad time vs aggro decks with this deck. I switched from R/A trying it out. Any advice for first turns ?
@Samral907 ай бұрын
there is none. if you face aggro, try and ramp to 7 and hit be prep, or you are doomed
@QuantumMercury7 ай бұрын
Against aggro you want to hit Queen early to slow down 1 threat and then hopefully One Jump or Quill on T3 to turbo out Maui on T4 to start and stabilize. From there it’s about removal. You can try switching to the Hei Hei and Stitch Rocket version of the deck for more low drop anti aggro options.

Had you considered Nickie Wilde? Thanks for the video.
@rooster5man8 ай бұрын
I think he would prefer a 4 drop that draws like Tala over Nick that basically does Tamatoa's job. Essentially, you're paying 1 more ink to play the Pawpsicle again to draw 1 after playing Nick for 4, versus paying 4 to look at the top 2 cards and draw 1.
@Oldschulplaya8 ай бұрын
@@rooster5man I guess so, I was thinking he might like the body that's gets the popsicle and can quest.
@rooster5man8 ай бұрын
@@Oldschulplaya You also have to be sure Pawpsicle is in your discard when you play Nick, so it's sort of conditional, whereas Tala is a guaranteed draw

Why Sapphire Ruby Over Sapphire Steel?
@rooster5man8 ай бұрын
Steel's drawpower is draw 1 discard 1, on top of Ruby having Be Prepared versus Grab your Sword (that may not wipe out your opponent's board)
@christianbraun80678 ай бұрын
The only thing that steel has is AWNW and beast. While those cards are more "powerful" than anything in ruby the decks removal package is so much better than the steel version. Be prepared, tremaine, maui ect. While grab your sword is cheaper it does not kill any of the relevant threats in amethyst matchups.
@QuantumMercury8 ай бұрын
If you’re in a steel heavy metal.
@crazysquriel8 ай бұрын
I still keep a few Manor's in the build, but not for red. They run over the location too easy, it's for Aggro decks. Emerald builds don't often have big attackers and really struggle to get through 9 health. Taking a turn off early to drop that against something like an Emerald Steel build can just win you the game.
@crazysquriel8 ай бұрын
Should also run some Belle's tbh. They really help you clutch out wins, especially in the mirror.
