I remember back in the late 90s discovering _Magic_ for the first time and being enamored with the original Thallid card. Yes, it is as slow as continental drift, especially by today's standards, but it is one of my favorite cards and had instilled a love for saprolings that persists to this day. Needless to say, I've been waiting to see something like this on Arena for a very long time.

what got me into magic, my literal first game was a golgori sap deck someone let me borrow it for a tournament, and everyone killed each other and i had made a sappy army for the last opponent i won, not only my first game, but my first tournament. got a little bag as a prize! i then proceeded to put my own saproling deck into it! i love it!

Zurzoth is the kind of commander who really profits from having multiple opponents. Getting only one devil a turn kinda defeats the point :/

@@bobafett4895 Yep but zurzoth only triggers on the "first card drawn" outside of their own turn. Which means in 1v1 the first card they draw in your turn. In a 4 player free for all with enough card draw you can make 3 in your turn and 2 more in each opponents turn (as forcing the current player to draw doesn't trigger zurzoth) -> up to 9 devils in one rotation. Although that also rarely happens. Getting 5 is pretty good and that way you have more payoff cards.

@@bobafett4895 Can genuinely recommend building a deck if you have a pod. It's fun to have at least one really fast really hard hitting deck that somehow also has creature removal built in. Honestly, I think if it is at all viable in 1v1 LegenVD could make it work 😅

I think the worst thing that could happen with this commander is the opponent playing blue sorcery card that gain control of your commander permanently 😂, it happened to me once and it hurt! With that said, this commander is a lot of fun, totally recommended 🎉, ty LVD

There are quite a few utility lands that you could include (Boseiju, Castle Garenbrig, Three Tree City, ...). They will potentially raise the perceived powerlevel of the deck according to the matchmaker and some cards like Nissa and Blanchwood Armor get a little bit worse, wile also maybe enabling opposing cards that care about non-basics. It's unclear whether it's really worth it so I stuck to a more budget-friendly manabase.

They haven't made a separate filter for Foundations Jumpstart. Internally it's also known as Jumpstart 25, so if you type "set:j25" in the search bar the cards will show up (assuming you're filtering on "not collected" also).
