Definitely recommend reading the shadowhunter books in order of publication to avoid spoilers. So that would be the first 3 in the mortal instruments series, then the infernal devices trilogy (clockwork angel etc) and finally the last 3 mortal instruments books! That’s the foundation of the shadowhunter world and then there are other series that take place in the same universe :) More long vlogs pls, I loved this

I actually read the series completely out of order when I was younger, I started with book 4 lol then I went back and read the mortal instruments in order which is a good way of reading it but the last book spoils the ending to the infernal devices! So if I could’ve done it differently I would’ve done it the way I explained 😂

@@SaraCarrolli I read all the mortal instruments and then the clock works. I think that was is easiest because you just finish up the story and I know I would personally get confused when it comes to remembering characters if I split up the series. But if you plan on reading them the way Sara S suggests, then yes. It would be City of Bones, Ashes, Glass, and then the clockwork series and then the rest of the mortal instruments books. There are also two series that come after those books, which I highly recommend. Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors. I hope that all makes sense!

That thicker paper sometimes doesn’t comply with what you’re trying to do and then cheap paper is just…cheap. Lol. My mom does it so professional about it and I struggle every year. For the Shadowhunter books, I always recommend people read them in order of publication date. It will take you out of series, and you'll bounce back and forward a little, but I think for the most rewarding first time experience, that's the way to go. I read them the first time that way, mainly because I was reading them as they came out. But it's definitely the most effective way

You don’t HAVE to read The Infernal Devices before The Mortal Instruments, technically the time period in TID it takes place before TMI but I read TMI before TID and there’s nothing that you’ll be missing if you read it first. But I know people also recommend reading in publication order. Both are great series though Loved the video

Usually people say to read the 3 first books of the mortal instruments and the read the trilogy of the infernal devices. I personally recommend reed the infernal devices first and then the mortal instruments so u don’t need to interrupt a series but then u choose what’s best for you

Omg I love the crescent city series!! First book was a 4 star for me and the second was a 5 star! Can’t wait to hear your opinions on it. Also, you are technically supposed to read mortal instruments before infernal devices but I read the first 3 books of the mortal instruments series and wasn’t the biggest fan 😬 so I might just go ahead and read infernal devices because I’ve heard that that series is so much better!

i read crescent city a couple of months ago and it was so good!!! one of the best books i’ve read this year and easily a 5 star read. the world building is confusing at first, but the plot and characters are so interesting that i honestly didn’t mind being confused, if that makes sense. i would definitely give a try !

I enjoyed the throne of glass series before acotar and LOVED both, I started with Assassin's Blade first and then Throne of Glass, Once you get to the end of the 5th book a slump in the 6th book is expected when they focus on different characters but the 7th book brings everyone back together and is so good. So much about that series is the reason I love Sarah J Maas and I highly recommend it! Also with the shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare you can really read them in whatever order, they just have easter eggs in each one to connect them. All the books in order is The Infernal Devices, The Last Hours, The Mortal Instruments and then The Dark Artifices every other book is just in between if you really like those characters or are invested in the world. I love them all but if you read the Mortal Instruments first I feel that it will introduce you better and explain things better if you have trouble understanding fantasy a bit, also then after those ones there is a netflix show about those specific books.

You can dive into the Shadow Hunter world in many different ways! You could read the books in the order they were published, which I recommend bc you won’t get any spoilers really or you read them in the order of events happening. You could watch some videos about the different orders, there are many here on yt that explain it a bit better! :)
