My wife and I were in Jaco over Christmas holidays. Loved it as usual but this time actually looking to buy. Notice from prices that the areas from playa flamingo and playa del coco are higher priced. We’ll be in touch though as we are interested in a tour of the area of Jaco and central.

Informative video, thanks for sharing! Please, share those that are least popular that don't work out.

Yes, please do so. Because since I saw how US expats behave in Roatan I want to be as far away as possible from this kind of people. Not speaking local language apart from a few badly pronounced crumps. Expecting everyone to speak English. Entitled behavior in shops and restaurants, expecting everyone to cater to their wishes because they tipp. Dead lawns where once was nature. I could go on but I guess this will be enough to earn me some hateful comments.

Great video! Thanks for posting. I was in Costa Rica 5 years ago on a solo trip. I am planning a trip back down for a month or so and wanted to know if people bring their dogs. In santa teresa do they have vets in case something happens?

There is too many Foreigners taking over the beach communities here in CR and its very sad seeing the Locals being priced out of their communities. Some beach towns are like living in Mini America or mini Europe and mini Canada. We live in the mountains with the Locals away from foreigners and grateful 🙏. 🙏

Is it better you live in the mountains as opposed to the beach areas. Are you a Tico or foreigner, no offense this is an honest question as prices are rising everywhere. The only communities not so far are those out of the way but what about 10-15 years?

@eihcranedlaw2642 we are foreigners ( immigrants) that came here from USA to retire almost 4 years ago. we lived at the beach our first year here. Loved it but too hot and dry during summer and many flooding and washed out roads in the wet season. AC is a must. . Everything was more expensive in all the beach communities and saturated with foreigners. We have lived in the Mountains in Heredia for 3 years. Beautiful temps no AC and less expensive. We save $$ on food shopping at our local farmers market which is huge and we are supporting the locals. We don't live in foreigner gated communities or neighborhoods. We live amongst the locals and that was our goal coming here. Also when we were living at the beach, we didn't have emergency services. 1 clinic opened on Thursday only. If we had a medical emergency they would have to fly us to San Jose. Now we are minutes from everything but live rural. Best of both worlds. I'm from Washington state and always Loved the mountains so we love living in higher elevation. We retired here to immerse ourselves into the Country, people, culture and history and keep learning the language. We are here for life!! Central Valley is the best place to live as far as we are concerned.

A mini America/Canada in a tropical setting sounds like a nice place.
