I’ve been saying this since the movie started being promoted! People are saying how ill she looks, and she may be ill, but I think it’s the light warm hair and the light colors she’s wearing!!!

I love that you made this video Sarah. My husband and I watched Wicked this weekend and when he asked me if I enjoyed it I said ‘Yes, but I was completely distracted but the fact she was wearing the worst colours for her and that all you could see was her beautiful dark eyes almost floating in space!’ 😂 He just rolled his eyes. 🙄 Such a good example though of how hair colour can either drain or enhance our features. Despite this she was great in the movie!

Agree Ariana is a winter. That said, the dream part of Galinda in Wicked dictates blonde hair and pink wardrobe, and it's clear her publicity contract requires appearances in character-appropirate looks. A lot of her clothes in the film are in cooler pinks, so I imagine that was a conscious choice. But what would we sacrifice for the part of a lifetime? I'd probably try to negotiate for more fuscia and cooler blonde, and then I'd leave the blonde behind and never look back.

I think that's an important point-- sometimes the first question to ask is whether 'your colors' actually matter. I'd argue that sometimes they don't. Sometimes you should just pocket the money and wear what someone tells you to wear. On the other hand, this is definitely not the first time she's moved away from her natural coloring. If I can have another hand, in her industry, it's crucial to be able to do that or she would never be 'eligible' for a dream part for a character that was described to a standard of beauty 125 years ago... those standards are so specific to place and time and audiences get so bent out of shape if the actress doesn't conform herself to that description. I think it's an interesting case study, but I'm with you-- I'm going to fall short of judging her choices (which, in fairness, I don't think that's what Sarah was doing either.)

@jennifercarter1265 I had to wear a lime green polo for work/bonding events. And orange with my high school soccer team. And peach and ivory for ballets. For the greater good and all that. Sometimes we just have to wear the wrong colors and make the best of it with hair and makeup? Actually, strategies to deal with mandatory out-of-season color challenges would be super helpful!

This was really fascinating. There's such an amazing difference in how her skin looks surrounded by the brighter, cool colors. I think you'd love Wicked and I hope you get a chance to see it on the big screen. I was skeptical about the movie because I didn't think any of the performers could match the amazing voice quality of the two Broadway stars Kristen Chenowith and Idina Menzel. But I was so wrong. Ariana and Cythia Erivo are amazing.

Yeah. I feel she pulls off the lilac better simply because her skin tone is a touch deeper to allow for a bit more contrast compacted to a more fair toned cool winter.

All about Ariana’s recent coloring it’s like when huge cosmetic brands decides to produce something new that smells like a cleaning product. Whoever came up with this idea is nuts and the one who approves it “should be fired”. But far worse for me is Ariana accepting it 😅 With all respect for her, this is just a critical thought. Because everyone knows it’s not even her visual identity, this is for a movie!! Come on!!

Sorry, but I think you misunderstood my comment. You said several times that you are a winter type, so no discussion about it 😂 Of course yellow tones on the face would look very pale or sick, but color theory aside, the warm color looks good on you. I hope that I could express myself better with this😅 Back to Ariana, chestnut hair and very dark brown eyes aren't these a deep autumn feature?

You mad so many good points!Thank you for mentioning the makeup and filters. My coloring is similar to Ariana’s natural coloring, and SO MANY people get analyzed incorrectly this way, including me. I’ve been typed as an autumn- online. It wasn’t until I got draped in person that I realized autumns are my absolute WORST colors. ❤Love your channel ❤
