Dense mature trees actually protect the home from winds. Oak trees have especially broad root systems and hold up well. Pine trees are the ones that get knocked over.

@@P.Galore 23 years of experience and living through many of these hurricanes and actually documenting the damage that comes with them, I’m just telling you what I see. I will NEVER have an oak tree in my yard. I’ve seen fully mature trees fully uprooted not just once. And not in just one storm.

@@asphalt8wierdthings691 honestly the only damage Sarasota sustained was on the islands. Casey key, Venice island, siesta key, lido key, and Anna Maria island. It barely affected anyone more than 2-3 miles Inland.

I feel the same way about people who live in northern states where it snows and ice forms on the road where you can lose control of your vehicle. Yet you don’t see me going around on KZbin commenting on other people’s KZbin videos 🤷🏼‍♂️
