The heat, the solitude, the dryness, the lack of good quality medical care, depreciation depreciation, the rent of space that you never own, proximity to major airports too far, the HOAs that go up over time, the maintenance. But… hey, to each his own.

So many snowflakes. 80M Americans live year round in areas with very hot summers, as do I. It's not optimal in the summer but not the apocalyse. People still thrive and prosper during hellish summers.

The park models also have insulation between roof and ceiling. Utility bills have to be high during Summer with AC. running 24/7. You dont want to be there June thru September. Believe me.

Park models are nice, and they're all over. You can buy mh in a park for cheap cheap, but, there's lot rent. Would be a good way though to establish domain yet travel & have home to come back to.

Colorado girl here, give me the cool of the mountains, smell of the evergreens, green lush meadows. That heat will melt your camper and zap your energy. Some people do love it though, just too harsh for me and would get real old fast.

Florida boy here and struggle with the heat the older I get. Sun worshiper when young though. I don't think that type of terrain is appealing to me, I gotta have some trees and green. But love the mountains. I guess you can get used to anything over time. Your doing something(on the road to no where ):many of us envy. Retired before 60 took SS at 62, no regrets, my friend!

I just turned 51 and am thinking i should put my name on the waiting list now so when i turn 55 i can rent a spot!! This place reminds me a lot of Fountain of Youth Spa in Niland, ca. that you may want to check out as well. Tons of amenities, park models for sale really cheap, rv spots with full hookups and just a great community feel to it. The down side is Niland is kind of in the middle of nowhere near the Salton sea so when you go to the store , you better make sure you stock up on everything you need. There aren’t any daily Walmart runs like you are used to doing.

I lived in Pinellas County, Florida. It reminds me of many 55+ trailer communities there. No people sitting on their porch/pad too early in the year. Searing heat and no seasons would be too similar to Florida. Seems to me you're better positioned to get something more spectacular. It will take work though to find it.

Nice. They better hope the owners don't sell out to big business and ruin it like is happening in Florida. They are hiking rates so high people can't afford it and being forced to leave. You found a great place if it lasts.
