​@@rans0mwareIt's because of his father Cash Buckzo. He's always such a horrible father to him and I'm definitely sure he's the one that won't let him visit Fizz when he gets injured. Blitz's mother is the only one who loves him, but after the accident at the circus, his mother died. Blitz became so afraid to make new relationships so this is why he became so brash towards others like Verosika and Stolas for example.

Even Hazbin Hotel, which apparently is supposed to be the more female focused show, often gives it's most impactful and interesting character moments to the male characters, and then they end up being the fan favourites, more than the female characters.

The one thing that bothered me about what Stolas was trying to take accountability for, is the fact that he outright denies to blitz the idea that he looks down on him for being an imp. After calling Blitz his "little imp", constantly baby talking him and then there's how he's treated his imp servants, the fact that he still has any imp servants at all. Stolas definitely looks down on imps, and even if he thinks he sees Blitz as his equal there is still a power imbalance here that he is unwilling to acknowledge, and seems to be in denial over if he's willing to try and deny what Blitz is calling him out for. It's even worse for me that Stolas simps that are hellbound on woobifying him and acting like he's done no wrong are also completely unwilling to acknowledge this wrongdoing. I straight up had someone respond to a similar comment I've made elsewhere, trying to make excuses for Stolas in this regard. Saying that Blitz shouldnt be mad at him for it because this was how he was raised. But stolas is a grown ass adult, and it seems a lot more like he views blitz as an exception, where he's "different" from the rest of the imps, and that he should be flattered by this. I really hope they address Stolas's classism and racism and how it's affected his relationship with blitz, and have him acknowledge these things so he can learn and grow from them. If they continue to paint him as the poor widdle sad boi owl and blitz as the bad guy, im going to be super annoyed lmao cus they both made mistakes and they're both heavily flawed people.

Stolas actually was going to reflect on what Blitzø said to him too but Verosika shut that down each time despite the fact that Stolas has absolutely been problematic the whole time, moreso than Blitzø where Blitzø breaking things off with some was for once actually reasonable, but because of what Blitzø did to Verosika, she assumes that other people who were ever wronged by Blitzø were wholly innocent in the matter.

I'm going to go out on a limb that Blitzo's aversion to love stems from the fact that all of his earliest experiences with such were either manipulative or ended in disaster. Chief among them being how, right before he could give Fizzarolli his "for your eyes only" card, he accidentally started the fire that resulted in Fizz being horribly disfigured and his mother dying. Beyond this, his only early experiences with love that we know of were false: His father guilting him into stealing from the Goetia, and his friendship with Stolas that was purchased with fraudulent intentions. It might very well be that Blitzo has been conditioned to associate love with tragedy, and might very well be of the mindset that it's better if HE is the one who causes the pain, both because it spares him from suffering along with them, and because the shit he does to them deliberately has been a lot less than what always happened every time he waited for fate to intervene instead.

I've been thinking that Blitzø just associates that if someone gets genuinely close enough to love him without manipulation involved then it'll end up like Fizzarolli, Barbie, and his mother. His mother died, Barbie likely wanted nothing to do with him and pretty much ended up in rehab because of that, Fizzarolli was mutilated and Blitzø was told Fizzarolli wanted nothing to do with him when that was false, his own solo career failed horribly some time after that horrible fire (and god was that just the worst way for the fire to begin in the first place all because Blitzø just bumped past someone who held a lit cake, that small act spiraling to Diabolus ex Machina levels of tragedy). Honestly, it's no wonder.

With Stolas, though, his relationship with Stolas was highly problematic because of the power dynamics and the constant looking down upon Blitzø from Stolas even if Stolas never notices it. Verosika also at one point in her song said she was used to getting what she wanted which is very similar to someone who's in a good position being used to having everything their way. Verosika was probably like Stolas once and Blitzø must have been through with Stolas what he was going through with Verosika given how when Stolas wanted to take things to the next level, Blitzø, because of how he can't see his relationship with Stolas as anything but transactional and one-sided, blew up on Stolas completely. Sure, it was tame because Stolas is still Ars Goetia royalty, but imagine if this was a repeat of what his relationship was like with Verosika and with Verosika being a succubus instead of royalty let Blitzø break their relationship off much worse. Remember, Blitzø was starting to improve somewhat as a person recently when he was in his relationship with Stolas whereas, depending on how soon after his tragic life events he dated Verosika, he had to have been in a much worse headspace.

I really look forward to see more of Verosika and Blitz' relationship in future episodes, I think there's still something neither is saying about what went down. I don't think either is over the other actually, aside from Verosika's song and general fixation (and Blitz' hallucination and still keeping her photo), the fact that they, despite everything he put her through, and Blitz being obnoxious and deflecting like no one's business, they were actually willing to open up and listen to eachother, which hints at a lot more going on there. On the subject of how fast Verosika knew about Blitz and Stolas having a fallout, as an alternative to Verosika running an expert spyring of informants and stalkers, which is both impressive and creepy, I think it's thanks to Stolas butler, the guy knows two of Verosika's posse, who were both at the party so it's an easy line of information. Alternatively, it's Vortex who heard it from Loona, who heard pieces from Blitz and put two and two together.

A thing I noticed about Verosika is that was the first person we met in the series who was equally potty-mouthed like Blitz. And she's still one of the very few. When we see younger versions of Blitz he is much more subdued in his language. Somewhere after that he got more crass. And we can only guess if he learned it from Verosika, she from him or if they made each other worse when it came to verbal action. What is sure though is because of their kinda matched level of foul mouthing, their insults to each other should merely be seen as them saying "hello" to each other in a somewhat petty way. The words don't mean all that much in their contexts.

Ok, can someone explain what Stolas has done that is so bad? He was forced into a marriage that was so incredibly toxic and abusive (from one side ONLY), resulting in him cheating but Stolas didnt really have the option to just leave because of his Daughter and his safety. MOST people resent their children, especially when forced to have them. Yet Stolas cares about his daughter to a significant degree, enough to understand he can't just cut Stella out because Octavia needs a mother, even IF Stella is horrible at it. The ONLY thing I see that could be fucked up is that Stolas uses his station to his benefit but neglects it otherwise. You can't even rag on Stolas for the whole Sex thing because Blitzo was literally the one that Kickstarted that tone! Stolas has spent his entire life being sexually abused, physically, verbally, and mentally. Maybe dont judge a guy for his legit first experience in an actual relationship without context

That was his idea. They are both screwed up adults in hell but I am rooting for them to grow and learn better.

I will however say that besides his rank, he has biases and embedded mindsets towards Imps that shows he is in a class above them and doesn't actually respect their existence for being imps. He needs to acknowledge that and realize that when having conversations with someone like Blitz, you need to not center yourself and your emotions. That's part of what went wrong in New Moon. He did not allow space for Blitz to absorb what was happening. He did not stop long enough to realize what Blitz was really saying or ask why. In the entire interaction between them, due to the deal and his status as a Goetia, the power balance was unfair towards Blitz.

Both Blitz and Stolas are responsible for making their relationship so toxic. While we all know that Blitz did a lot to make it this way, Stolas also had a lot to do with how it came to be this way. Instead of speaking to Blitz about what happened the night they first had sex, Stolas, instead, makes a deal with Blitz to have sex with him every full moon in exchange for the Grimoire. That's the catalyst that started all this mess. It's also the motive to why Blitz thinks that Stolas is only using him.

Speculative on my part, but it could've happened during Verosika's rise to fame, meaning she was in a less then secured position when this happened and leaving her in a worse position then she started with. Blitzo, Stolas, Verosika, they're all hurt people. There's a saying to that, 'Hurt people... Hurt... People.' They're all hurting and, purposefully or not, they're hurting others around them. Blitzo is too stubborn and self-loathing to believe that anyone could actually love him, despite not wanting to die alone. Stolas is too oblivious to his own status as a royal demon of the Ars Goetia to realize that what he sees as endearing is really racist and discriminatory. Verosika may want the best for people because of the hurt Blitzo afflicted them, but while there may be some that see healing through Blitzo's misery, really all Verosika's doing is picking at the wounds and refusing to let them heal. That's just how I see the situation.

The more I see about the writing of this show, the most is feels like the humour is based off of what Blitz finds funny. Everything fucked up is treated like a joke because he has made it so, and the only time that changes is when we're either not in a scene with him, or he is being slapped in the face with reality. The slapping started with Versosika but failed because Blitz is still the winner by the end, but at this point everything is so far out of his control that the things that were initially seen as jokes are now being viewed for what they really are; fucked up.

15:32 I’ve seen a couple comments pointing to the fact that Verosika being a succubus-doing sex work for Ozzie and the Lust ring-likely has had to get with many clients and thus repress her feelings, for business. So for her to open up and tell Blitzø she “loved” him, could’ve been the first time she was ever vulnerable, and that’s why she hasn’t been able to move on. She’s also a pop-star, so I’d imagine she can’t get close to others because of her status, always worried about just getting with an obsessed fan, rather than a loving partner. Blitzø was the first time she could be vulnerable, and allowed herself to be, and then he just dipped, stole and maxed out her credit cards. It’s not surprising she’s the way she is now.

Regardless of Stolas’s role in the relationship, I really feel like Blitzø’s relationship with Verosika really highlights how Blitzø uses aggression as a defense mechanism. He tries to start a fight by yelling and insulting the other person to make them fight back and justify his actions. I think what makes Stolas different in this regard is that he doesn’t want to insult Blitzø back- and, as far I’m aware, he outright to insult him until the song, where Verosika is encouraged it. Blitzø’s hurt was probably multiplied when he realized that Stolas had finally caved to insults- which weren’t angry at all, but hurt. Despite being petty, Stolas was never *mad* at Blitz, more.. ashamed, like Verosika said she was, and sad to have lost everything. Blitz has never been met with anything but anger at his attacks, so Stolas refusing to be outright aggressive was a new experience for him.

Though if I may add to it...Since Blitz aggression was probably met back with more aggression or pettiness, Stolas' song would also be a rare instance of him seeing sincerity as a response. Blitz buckles in moments of genuine hurt displayed by someone he left behind (eg. Ozzie with V and Oops with Fizz) despite how much he denies it. Maybe specifically the idea that people he cared for think that he doesn't care for them in anyway hurts him the worst, or at least those are the moments he seems the most emotional as most of the time he's able to ignore it.

For me, this was a moment of closure for Verosika and you can see it in her expression. She is happy that Blitz was able to finally apologize. She won't likely ever forgive him, nor be friends. But she got what was most important. Coming from an abuse background, the idea and want for my abuser to admit her wrongs, to recognize her behavior was bad in a genuine way would do a lot for my personal journey. I can never forgive what was done as the damage is ingrained and will be a problem for much of my life, but to have that person acknowledge the wrongs would be huge.

While it's true that nobody is owed a relationship, considering that Blitzø stole her car, and maxed out her credit card (and did who knows what else), I'd say she's perfectly justified in her hatred towards him. I'm pretty confident that if he had broken up with her in a more reasonable and healthy manner, then the interactions they have in the series would've either never happened at all, or would be completely different from why they are now, it's made clear that it wasn't the break up itself that hurt her, but how he chose to break up with her (and that's not even mentioning the whole annual pity party she throws for all of his ex's either wouldn't be a thing, or just wouldn't have her as the host). Even if the whole, "a succubus isn't supposed to fall in love with someone" thing is true, that's still not a good counter argument to make, there's nothing wrong with wanting to fall in love, and saying otherwise is just nonsense.

Something I think is worth noting about Verosika projecting her issues on Stolas to ignore his own issues during his song is that I can’t help but think that Stolas’ own issues being their own major factor in the meltdown of his relationship actually makes him UNIQUE among Blitzo’s ex’s. In my case, I was at a time in my life where previous partners I'd had had lied to me, so when someone who isn't ashamed of being who they are rolls into your life and they're genuinely fun to be around, things happen. And in my case, I ignored a lot of those red flags because I could see how much of a damaged person they were, abd I just thought that they'd soften up over time. Considering that Verosika is both a succubus and a popstar, I'm willing to bet that he was so attractive to her because he didn't have ulterior motives and could've been one of the few people that she could actually be herself around.

While watching this video, I realized what Barbie Wire meant when she said, “he doesn’t get it.” Due to his immense self-hatred and preconceived notion at being unlovable, he’s doesn’t know how to actually feel remorseful and properly apologize, preferring to chose violence and abuse as a way to keep up the act to avoid heartache. However, I noticed that with Barbie he was gentle and timid(at the end anyway) when she was about to leave. The difference is that she’s family and probably the only person he has a direct link to unlike Fizz. Fizz and Barbie were both victims of the fire, except Fizz managed to go uphill and even date a sin while Barbie spiraled into addiction, going into serious rehab. Going off by that, it’s also safe to assume that Blitz probably didn’t visit her much at first due to his immense guilt, probably giving Barbie the impression that he didn’t really care. With Fizz, he and fizz wanted to make amends but people kept telling them the opposite. Their hatred was due to external influence while Barbie’s was internal. My guess is that she’s aware of his self-hatred and that’s partly why she cut ties. She was expecting an apology or some sort of repentance from Blitz, hence why she stopped before leaving. But he didn’t, preferring to put it behind him like it didn’t affect him at all. This cemented her impression that he didn’t care, causing her hatred to swell more into cutting ties completely. Maybe somewhere down the line when Blitz has healed enough, he might try to contact her again and give her a proper apology while also giving his perspective on the tragedy and factors behind it. I know she still won’t forgive him, but she would at least understand why he became like that and probably just tolerate his presence from that point.

@@falconeshield Well duh! Striker is the true villain in Helluva Boss! Fizzarolli and Verosika did antagonize Blitz before, but they at least cared about him after Blitz apologized to them. Striker on the other hand has always been an evil antagonist and will do anything to get his revenge.

I feel the part of the song where he's self-reflecting and her singing "No no no, he's a MF'er" is more of a warning than a shut down of his self reflection. Stolas is getting stuck in the "What If" rumination, and Verosika is telling him "He's STILL a MF'er." We all tend to get stuck in our heads after a break-up wondering if we could have done something differently and taking on ALL the blame for the relationship failing -- when often the other person is just as culpable. Self-reflection is great, but there is still no hope for a relationship if the other person doesn't take responsibility for themselves too. I think we the fans all know Stolas is about to get his own brutal self-reflection episode with Octavia narrating it for him so he can see some ACTUAL self-reflection instead of getting stuck ruminating "What if" like a teenager for his lost crush. I can't wait! I LOVE these two dopey dads and I LOVE HOW DEEP THIS SERIES IS SO MUCH!!! 🥰

I still suspect that Verosika did something unforgiveable in the gap between Blitz panicking from her love confession, and him returning. Probably a massive orgy or something, given the flavor of Blitz's comments. While Blitz is irreverent and insulting, I doubt he would be calling her really bad stuff like a "bag of holes" if all she ever did was confess to him, and from the fever dream and him lingering over her photos, we see he did have some feelings for her. She is canonically addicted to Beelzejuice and been in and out of rehab *during their relationship* and/or immediately after its end, so she is a hot mess on that end. It's been over 5 years (since she predates Loona) and she is still seeking Blitz out to a stalkerish degree. She throws yearly parties in his honor, keeps track of all of his sexual partners, her pop start logo is the crossed off tattoo of his name, and she is still releasing songs about him. Of all of the buildings, floors in the building, and parking spots, she picked his--and she would have known. There's a giant billboard of Blitz, after all, and if they were close at all, Blitz would have told her about his business plans. Verosika is obsessed with Blitz. And not for good reasons. She uses words like "humiliating" to describe Blitz turning her down, and her song lyrics say that she always gets what she wants, and what she wanted was Blitz. So anger and pride are at the forefront of her personality. Though she tells Blitz he needs to be able to look at Stolas and just think "good for him", she obviously doesn't feel the same way about Blitz. She loves getting back at him in ever-humiliating ways, and is genuinely smiling and happy when Blitz gets upset that Stolas is making out with someone in front of Blitz. In Stolas' song, she actively prevents and redirects Stolas from considering ways to fix things or 'earn' Blitz. It definitely seems she is purposefully sabotaging their relationship and it's less for altruistic reasons and more because she likes that Blitz is the one getting left behind this time. I think they were a passionate but mutual dumpster fire of a couple. She was probably way too controlling and possessive, plus she was a rising pop star, active addict, and a succubus. Blitz has always wanted to be important in his own right, so he wouldn't be content to live in Verosika's shadow. He's got issues with addicts, as seen with how he tries his best to get his sister into rehab. He stole her stuff, he ran off. Blitz is emotionally avoidant, hates being controlled, and Blitz really, really, really wants a family, which probably doesn't align with a pop start life. But how dare he be the one to dump Verosika Mayday, so she is now obsessed.

I think what sums it up nicely is the final song that plays, Verosika singing "Over You". The start of the song has the lyrics, "I'm not over IT, but I'm over you", indicating that she is still angry at him, but at least does not want him anymore. Towards the end of the song however, the lyrics change to, "I'll get over it, I got over you.", showing that she can finally start healing and move on with her life. Verosika never got proper closure because Blitzo never gave her a chance to get it. Every time they met, he just started arguments and never owned up to anything he did. She was stuck in perpetual hatred and rage, but as the song says, it was her trying to stomp him out, and sure, it helped her get over him, but that rage and hatred never went away, she just became covered in ashes, she's become petty, painted all over as "The girl who hates Blitzo" as her identity. Now though, Blitzo actually did it, he actually said he was sorry and that he was in the wrong. Now, she got closure and she can start putting it behind her, how easy that will be is unknown, she still isn't over it, but she at least accepts that she will be over it eventually.

When Blitzo confronts Verosika in the recording studio in "Spring Broken", she has a tattoo, a heart with the name "Blitz" written inside of it. Except now it has a big cross over it. It seems likely that she loved Blitzo, only for him to break her heart by stealing from her. That fact that Blitzo is so desperate to be loved and believes that no one in his life does love him makes it even sadder. He had someone that truly loved him and through his own self-sabotaging antics turned that person into a bitter 💔 enemy.

Honestly, the way Blitz talks about Verosika is highkey very misogynistic. She a woman who is conventionally attractive, is a sex worker and all his insults boil down to “promiscuous woman”. He always calls her a bitch, a whore and similar words. It fits the character if they wanna write someone who is a bitter ex, but it’s very uncomfortable for me personally.

@@falconeshield I mean she does constantly harass him in public, in front of other people (and purposefully takes his parking spot knowing it will instigate an argument), using her fame as a gateway to make him look worse in front of other people even when he isn't bothering her. Stealing her car and credit card are the worst things he did, you have a right to evacuate out of a relationship if you feel like it isnt for you, it might be crude and mean to do it that way but harassing him specifically for their failed relationship isn't necessarily on Blitz, he can leave. Verosika isn't innocent, the fanbase tends to flock to her defense, even when she was still portrayed as an antagonist, merely because she's a popular character. So yes Blitz is mostly at fault here but Verosika isn't perfect in this situation, they've both messed up and protecting one while villifying the other is hypocritical. Also what they did to Moxxie is unforgiveable, considering he is one of the nicest people in hell as it stands. And no "most men" do not go around calling women a bitch, steal their credit card, etcetera. Unless of course you're talking about arguing back to them when they harass you in public because everyone and anyone has a right to do that if you're not bothering them and want to be left alone. There are definitely a LOT of them, but you're getting into straight up accusational/stereotype/sexist territory.

​@@kata788couple things wrong with what your saying she doesn't constantly harass him they met twice by coincidence first time she didn't purposely take his spot it was reserved for her by the building he approached her and called her names over a spot and she responded the second she basically just joined in with fizz and Ozzie and didnt care after her verse and as for moxie that was obviously done for laughs in this show its clear when you should take something seriously and when you shouldn't that sweet moxie in that same episode literally murdered a bunch of teens over a spot so yah was she being petty because she was her sure but she isn't constantly harrasing no one is protecting her she needs to let go of the hate which is what it looks like she's doin

During the song, when Verosika chimes in "no, no, no, he's a motherfucker", the first time I watched it I got the same vibe you said. The second time I watched a bit closer and got a different impression. I don't think, at least not entirely, they were saying "no you should hate him". In the context, both times they say it, Stolas is self reflecting, and suggesting that he might have been wrong or might have something to learn from Blitzo. From their perspective, they see someone who just broke up with Blitzo blaming himself. I think "no, no, no, he's a motherfucker" is meant to mean "no, no, no, don't blame yourself, he's the problem, you're not the problem" to someone who has just been hurt. They think he's self-blaming, they've probably been there themselves and want to reassure him.

People in the comments truly miss the point of Verosika's parties. It isn't "yeah, screw Blitzo for what he did!!", it's actively trying to help them all get pass what he did to them. We even see one of them throw a knife at a Blitz plushie, immediately break down and someone was immediately there to comfort them. The point is to help them all heal.
