Always great to see another TRS-80 games stream....even though I missed it and had to watch it after the fact! I had Sargon 2 on my TRS-80 back in the day but was never much good at chess and usually only played it on level 1. Loved the CLOAD stuff too! Looking forward to the next TRS-80 stream!

Glad you got the Coco joystick working. You showed Clowns and Balloons; when you get to that one, at least the X axis should be on free float; this game uses the actual position of the X axis (0-63) as the position of the trampoline. The Y axis isn’t used so you can have that as free float or springback; whichever you find more comfortable. It also uses artifact colors (the best color set for games on the Coco 1/2) and even has multi voice music in the intro and after clearing each row of balloons. Shooting Gallery uses artifact colors very well, including the rarer yellows, etc. it’s good you know about Chromasette and T&D tape magazines; Chromasette ran from 1981 until 1984 while T&D ran for over a decade, and later in its run they got right to formerly commercial games from several companies, including some of the biggest names like Tom Mix Software.

Nice video. Sargon II on VIC-20 was probably the first computer chess game I ever saw back in the day. BTW, here's a PGN of your game: [Site "Stus Game Reviews"] [Date "2024.06.09"] [White "Stu"] [Black "Sargon II TRS80 lev2"] [Result "1-0"] 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4.O-O d6 5.Nc3 Bd7 6.d3 Nf6 7.Bg5 O-O 8.Nd5 Re8 9.Qd2 Nd4 10.Bxf6 Nxf3+ 11.gxf3 gxf6 12.Qh6 Re6 13.Nxc7 Qxc7 14.Bxe6 Bxe6 15.Qxf6 Qd8 16.Qh6 Rc8 17.Kh1 Qb6 18.Rg1+ Bg4 19.Rxg4+ Kh8 20.Qg7# 1-0
