You know what's worse. I went to his video and looked at the comments and there's this one dude who says that there's a growing fascist movement coming from the left. This is the gist of his comment by the way. I pointed out that the left can't be fascist cause fascism is built on nationalism. I can say this confidently that most leftists (progressives) don't support nationalism, they support patriotism. They support the idea: I'm proud of my country but we can do better. Those supporting nationalism have the mindset: My country's the best. We need preserve our history and bring it back to it's former glory. Also fascist hate liberals, socialists, communists and anarchists. Antifa are a mix of those ideologies. So again, how are Antifa fascist? I used to be one of those Anti-SJW types for a bit until I took a break from politics up until recently when I took a few political compass tests which placed as a libertarian socialist and aslo an anarchist. Keep in mind like most who follow American politics, I'm not American. But something I noticed from my time in the Alt-Right pipeline is the right always made the argument that left changes the definition of words to fit their narrative. That's ironic cause the right always changes the definition of fascism to demonize Antifa who aren't fascist in any sense of the word. So, yeah, I've seen the light in a way.

Based on his positions, I’d describe him as a market socialist. He thinks the end of capitalism is a desirable and natural way for society to progress, but that people are going to have to be weaned off. He’s compared the transition to getting out of a pool: you’re not dry immediately. You towel off, and gradually air dry the rest of that moisture. Seems like a pretty solid way to think about the transition, though I’m sure there are valid critiques. TLDR; yes.

Talk to a Leninist, talk to a classical Marxist, talk to a proto-Marxist, talk to an anarchist. You're going to get like 20 authors and 50 book recommendations from every single one of them. The funny thing about the disdain for news outlets is that the only reason news outlets have any real purpose behind a bad reputation is establishment bias and the sensationalism that prevents people from taking things properly seriously. Problems that largely exist due to our current system, and more specifically, capitalism. Take out the need for money, you take out the need for clicks, which takes out the need to sensationalize. Cross that with a population who has more time to actually fact check and research points of interest/contention and you can actually see things like news as the positive it's supposed to be. It's only if you're entirely pessimistic about it's nature do you see news media as a problem due to it's challenging of norms being seen as out of touch or sensationalist.

The thing about independant artists is fine, tho? They own their own means of production, and use it to benefit themselves. And if they work with someone on a contracting basis? Two people who own their means of production (like a performer contacting an editor to help shit out for them) agree on a deal and one pays the other for their work. The problem is when one side has authority over the other and exploits them. I'll admit there's a problem with philodaddies on the left, and some of that shit's pretty dense, but theory is pretty useful for the information in the books. It's just more "right things" you can claim. Or leave aside and/or challenge if it isn't panning out. If you just don't feel like it, cool. But there's a lot of value in what's there.
