There is no way your family would allow the cheese business to fail. You have all the ingredients to make the cheese business become the reason people know about your farm (outside of your excellent channel Jan) and I for one can barely wait to get some fresh curd shipped from your Cheese House! Hello to Mirjam and best of luck from Ontario.

Your parents are smart and your sister has everything she needs to have a successful cheese business. She has the milk, she has a way to get rid of whey ( add it to feed or the manure lagoon ) and she has her family to support her in her endeavor. ( we know you love to tease her ) but will help her any way you can. Looking forward to seeing her making cheese and you helping her sell it with your channel ❤

Thank you for explaining the difference in the two types of rye. Your bale yard is so awesome. I’m impressed by your bale trailer, self loading and quick unloading. Mirjam, you thought out the design of the cheese building so well, impressive. We’re all leading the cheers for you.

Let's start with, I'm old. I remember when we started making the conversion from square bales to round bales. We installed a bale stabber on the back of our 1969 Ford F150 pickup. We made a trip to the field for every bale. It would have taken us all day to haul what you just picked up in one load. Farming has come a long way.

Wow Jan! what a great video. Mirjam's Cheese Factory is really progressing well. I can't wait for the cheese; I hope she sells in USA markets too. Or at least will sell/ship to me in US. For Mirjam; will you make cheese from cows milk only or will you also make fine goat cheese too? Do you have different 'recipes' for cheeses or ow does this work. I hope you will start your own youtube channel to talk about and advertise cheese. You need a name ex: "SaskDutchCheese" or "Mirjam's Dutch cheese"; and tee shirts, hoodies to sell with the cheese. Oh the field is endless. I pray for your success like your family's successes .

Hi Jan and Mirjam. Maybe she's a little spooked by the size of the building and the task at hand, no? I'm sure Mirjam will be bouncing around the shop once things get set in place. Montreal has been unseasonably warm as of late. We hit deeper minus digits on Tuesday night next week. But days are still warmer than usual. You've got quite the collection of bales. I think we can say that the farm was very fruitful this season, indeed.
@bethp15302 сағат бұрын
Please tell Mirjam that I wish her prosperity in her new business venture. It would be great for the business model for her to start her own social media accounts for it now. I think people will find everything really interesting to see the actual making from grass to cheese. How feed can change the flavor of cheese, how milk fat produced from that same feed can change consistency.

@larryvilledude94152 минут бұрын
Wow, that was a cool shot when you had the camera inside the bales on the trailer!
@kenlynch63325 сағат бұрын
I think the bales are only used for bedding the calves; special need cows; & outside corrals. So, 3200 bales would last more than 2 years, hopefully bales do not rot so that they could be used for several years. Do you allow those who have bought bales to come onto your fields to pick them up saving you the cost & labor? At 15:16 of the vlog, it looked like some insulation was sticking out of the siding. Has Mirjam decided what cheese she will be making - Gouda or Edam? Who is the customer for the cheese - supermarkets or wholesalers? Can cheese wheels be sent to the USA for individual customers, as they would make excellent gifts? I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the amazing growth of the Kienstra Fram these past 5 years of watching this channel. Thanks for the entertainment & education of dairy farming. 🚜🚜 🚜 🌽🌽🌽🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🌽🌽🌽🚜 🚜🚜

Hi and I am a Canadian but living on the Space Coast in FL for long time. So without being rude I would think that with thousands of straw bails you may could share with your outside animals before it turns mouldy from age. That's what I have seen in the past. Hope that's not a rude thought
