Here we go! This is part 2 in the Church Gone Wild series and we are just getting started! As mentioned, we are NOT doing a verse by verse through the entire book. What I'm doing is selecting certain portions of the book and doing a verse by verse breakdown of those pertinent sections. If not, we'd be here for an entire year. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts on why the church is so divided today. Thanks!

I used to hate trump supporters to the point I didn’t even want to listen to people that support Trump. I got convicted by God and removed myself from politics, I learn to love people even when we don’t agree in policies and people vote for. I idolize politics so much that I neglected my relationship with God and his people. God open my eyes and reminded me that not everyone will have the same mindset as me. Instead, I need to show patience and speak with kindness if I disagree with people. Update: Thank you all for understanding my testimony. Yes, I am a Christian and accepted Jesus Christ into my life. No matter what I said, someone will shame me for my confession that I did hated trump supporters even though I already repented and follow Christ til this day. I told one of my great friends who I have known for 20 years what God says about homosexuality. She told me her daughter came out as a lesbian and I would not be happy about it. I told her that I love her daughter. God loves her daughter, but he hates her sin. She told me I had hate in my heart. Then she ended our 20 + years of friendship by deleting me as a friend off Facebook. I most definitely feel the division, but I will not compromise my faith for what the world says is love. [38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. Like I said I don't think it's gonna be anything easy to make It to heaven for any of us. It's gonna take long suffering, discipline to follow things we don't want to and be made perfect Matthew 5:48 KJV Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. So if he says sever these ties and do not make peace with them that cause you to fall , then don't bring peace . It's not gonna be easy but only those that suffer a lot are closer to God especially if they don't have any friends and all they mostly do is read of him and talk to God

@@tammi67able nope revelation says Satan brings peace and then sudden destruction comes upon the wicked . Your focusing on the peace when Jesus was alive in new testament but if we are to focus on end times to set this world straight then there must be division among the Satan worshippers and those who worship the lamb who is not a meat eater but as written supposedly Jesus Christ comes to reintroduce animal sacrifices and Satan comes to stop him but I believe it's a test to see which humans are evil scumbags and which are those that free the oppressed. That one that sacrifices animals is really Satan and many will call him good but he is evil and the ones that come to destroy him are good but they will call them evil. Jesus Christ cannot return as he already said call no man upon the earth your father and they will say lo here or lo there is Christ but do not to listen to them. Whoever this king masquerading as Jesus is will be the new world order king and only those with the blood of the righteous will destroy him and his army. They already found the red cows ready for sacrifice just a few days ago . Look it up. Those that delight in animal sacrifices will be condemned. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. This is a difficult one Pastor Parr. As Christians, I think we can all agree that we would like to see unity in the body of Christ. Dissention among the body isn't anything new. However, I'm not sure how to reconcile unity and widespread "misunderstanding" of how to conduct the very lifestyle that is supposed to unify us. If we can't even agree on what it is to be saved and how someone gets saved (which was the purpose of the Cross) then how can we agree on anything else? Better yet, how can we win the world? Will one not inevitably call the other a heretic or false teacher? Does the Word of God not also instruct us to do that? I do think there are some things worth arguing about and some that aren't. What I do agree with you on is that we don't need to break fellowship, hate or attack one another. Peace to you, Pastor Parr and thank you for all the great work you do.

Regarding theological differences: There is a difference between the church you attend and the fellowship you have. There’s a difference between changing churches over theological differences and breaking fellowship over it and considering people not to be Christians. There is nothing wrong with preferring to attend a church that affirms your theology, if it can be biblically argued and hits all the essentials. Breaking fellowship over secondary and tertiary issues is what is wrong. 😊

Just like children build new knowledge on existing knowledge, God let humanity learn gradually. The Old Testament lays a foundation. The New Testament ties it all together and tells you what it means. So here’s a Bible reading plan for first-timers: 1. John 2. Matthew through Galatians (including John, again). 3. The New Testament (don’t skip what you’ve already read) 4. The whole Bible. For your first or second time through the whole Bible, you might want to get a chronological Bible. I suggest using a word-for-word translation (ESV or NASB 1995 or earlier). To the degree that translators paraphrase, you get interpretation. Your first memories stick with you, and paraphrases override what God’s Spirit could reveal to you. “Easy to read” has its place, but anything worthwhile is worth working for.
@mizzwright39762 жыл бұрын
@@ricksonora6656 great advice! I myself got a chronological Bible and I’m going to start it at the beginning of the year. However, I got the New Living Translation, I find it reads easier for me. My standard Bible is a ESV though.

It’s better to start at the FOUNDATION of scripture. Genesis is the first book in the compilation. Start there! You need to understand God through His creation and HOW He deals with people. He is the same from the beginning. His attitude toward things hasn’t changed. Discover His feelings toward behaviors and attitudes and try to reflect on your own. See if they are in harmony or do you need to work on adjusting them. Endeavoring to understand HOW God deals with people makes it easier to understand the type of person you are REQUIRED to be in order to receive His blessings. Read the OT then once you’ve gained FOUNDATIONAL knowledge on God and His arrangement move into the NT. You should develop a love and appreciation for God and how He chooses to deal with mankind.
@ricksonora66562 жыл бұрын
One of the principles of interpretation (“hermeneutics”) is that God explained things more explicitly over time. Example: Christ is symbolized when - God tells Eve about her seed that would crush the serpent’s head - God makes clothing out of sheepskin after the Fall - Abraham goes to sacrifice his son - God provides a ram as a substitute - God commands to sacrifice a lamb on Passover eve - God commands the Jews to offer various animal sacrifices And then, the New Testament explicitly identifies Jesus as the antitype of all those symbols. If you start with the Old Testament, you won’t understand the language of symbolism. It might even seem as though the Old and New Testaments portray a god with two different personalities. As another example: The law of the Old Testament served several goals. The most important was showing us our guilt so we would turn to God for mercy and grace. The majority of people, including many who call themselves Christians, don’t understand. They think they can obey the law so well that God has to accept them. They fall for a false gospel of self righteousness.

This was an excellent video. I am married to a godly man who is called by God to be politically involved, and is currently running for office. We are also very involved in ministry, and we have to try very hard to keep the main thing the main thing, and the main thing is Jesus. Politics do matter, and Christians should get involved, and be aware of what is going on, and align with the party and candidates who they believe espouse biblical values. But we need to have the right priority about it. I meet some Christians who break Fellowship over political issues, but I meet others who go the opposite extreme and act as if all political involvement is wrong and unspiritual. Not everyone is called to it, but those who are should do it, with a right perspective. Also, this applies to Christians who hold different theological positions. We may not be led to attend their church, but we shouldn't break Christian friendship over this. Again, it is about having the right priorities.

For the record, I am extremely against abortion but I don’t believe in single issue voting. Any issues brought up makes you a person that lack’s spiritual maturity and your walk in Christ questioned. There are no perfect church or Christians. I keep out of trouble by remembering what Jesus taught about the greatest of you are the servant to others as He came not to be served but to serve. If one ask God, He will open doors for you as another may close.

Man I totally agree, the theological differences one hit home for me today. I will ask this just out of humility and wanting to know how to better share The Lord and live for Him. What would be the difference between theological differences and pure heresy? I know we as believers should not follow heresy. Thank you for the response if you get to this :)

Allen my friend. Great video, I felt this is the one I'd share and introduce you to my national network of friends. I'm going to be honest, when you gave your personal belief about a "woman" being a "senior" pastor, it really broke my heart. I feel no divide, as your point was of this video, but your personal opinion, IMO, should have not been included. Your message was beautiful, I agree fully, your message was about "we", and not your opinion. Bottom line, I love your style, I will not let this divide us as friends!☀️ Thank You brother Allen, comfort and peace to you, and yours... MJ

This topic is my greatest passion. Thank you for doing this video brother Allen! I believe that all Bible believing Christians agree on the primary doctrines, but people outside the church see division when we argue Calvinist vs. Arminianism or Eschatology, etc. These topics can be debated in a edifying way, and they also inspire people to spend more time in the Word then if we all had the same interpretation on these secondary issues. I think that it is a test, do we put our pride before the Word of God and hate our brothers and sisters.
@christianworshipmusicother38052 жыл бұрын
Great video. These divisions are important and do have an impact. Christians seem divided by politics and also the understanding of what the bible means in our lives today. Interpretations are all over the place. Creating mega business relationships that are based on influence and business acumen and not Christ create what are essentially competing teams lead by big leaders and corporate staffs rather than Jesus.

The only way to unite the church is to be clear and concise on holiness, righteousness, salvation, and sanctification. People want to be "saved" but also entertain everything about sin and Satan...everyone wants to be saved but no one wants to be "saved" but no one wants to be (sanctified).

@musiciandeborah18542 жыл бұрын
Right! I think the most important point is that we CAN disagree, and it is actually healthy to be able to voice and discuss our disagreements, but we shouldn't allow this to divide us! I feel strongly about this because I think it's so easy to fall prey to the idea that we should just be quiet about things and bottle up inside us things that we truly do feel led to speak up about. If we need to speak up, we should, but we should never allow ourselves to become bitter and unable to love or get along with another believer if they don't see things the same way. If we can love our enemies, we ought to be able to love each other.

Something that broke my heart recently was hearing married Christian couples at odds OVER POLITICS🤔😒😠. Something else that frustrated me a few years ago were 2 coworkers who were on complete opposite ends of the political spectrum and the one that was a Christian had so much disdain for the other coworker that effected our witness as believers and instead she was known for callousness and not love ☹

What's funny about this is I came to Christ through my mother when I was in my late teen years and living in New York City by myself. And decades later she is definitely my actual mom and spiritual mom. We agree wholeheartedly on core doctrinal issues but will definitely butt heads when it comes to other things. I love the fact that I can actually speak to her about them, we can get passionate, and as soon as the conversationnis over we're done with that (even if no one's mind was swayed) and we still love each other. I mean as soon as the debate is over we can be like, let's go get some coffee and enjoy each other's company. I love that. I love that so much, and I wish I could have that with everybody who was a brother and sister in Christ.

Wow this video couldn't have come at a more appropriate time. Two well known Christian KZbinrs were in a pretty divisive exchange just yesterday over secondary issues when one of them decided to use the opportunity to make a personal attack on the other's character, and not just address the idea that was being disagreed upon.

That's why i detach myself from politics completely!!Politics are such a divider amongst Christians and religious people in general so much to the point that people end relationships with people simply due to whether the person is a Democrat or a Republican,a Conservative or a Liberal. If you ask me,the way people put political parties and opinions on a pedestal,make their every decision influenced by political opinions and despise anyone who doesn't conform to their opinion reads a lot to me as some sorts of idolatry, pridefulness and wrath. May God help us and teach us all to follow rules not of a political party,but His rules.🙏🙏

I believe it is okay to divide/break fellowship over primary Biblical issues; the true gospel versus the false prosperity gospel being one of them. I also believe there are more primary and less secondary issues than most people want to admit.

Brother Allen you are spot on in your message. I have seen examples of divisions and it is very true how satan can move through these situations. Your use of scripture from Paul's letters is clear that we are to be one in Christ Jesus.

So is Joyce Myers, T.D Jakes and others like them not dangerous heretical teachers? Should we not divide over theological differences? Such as Oneness/Trinity? I’m really trying to understand brother Allen? It’s been a wrestle for the past few months. Shouldn’t the deity of God be essential? I know you are with that view (Trinity) as well, but should fellowship be broken with a Oneness person?
@tonyhill83402 жыл бұрын
@ To God Be The Glory, good question. Allen really seems like a genuine person, but from really paying attention to alot of his videos it seems his heart for unity has created a compromising mindset. I really hope he answers your question. I too asked him to explain what would be valid reasons one should not fellowship with another "believer."
