What The Sims 5 Needs So It’s Better Than Sims 4

I would love to see them add more to relationships. Not all people care about others the same way, and sometimes it's completely one-sided, and we just can't do anything like that in the Sims 4. I think it would add so much to gameplay if your sim really liked someone who didn't like them back, or didn't like them as much. We need more of that! I don't always want my sims to feel the same way about each other all the time!

Really? In my sims games I actually run into this a lot. The sims might be married therefore don’t entertain a relationship with another. The preferences for sims has a huge impact on them, meaning if they prefer men but you’re a woman then it automatically keeps the bar as a friendship level. Also my game is on the ps4 so I don’t have mods installed! I think that update is from snowy escapes pack.

One thing I'd really like is the ability to slightly customize your Sims' starting skill points and bank accounts before placing them into the world. Like, maybe you're given five skill points to allocate wherever, and only if you want to use them. It would help with storytelling if my adult sims started off with at least a few abilities! With the money, I'd like it if we had four options; do your sims start with literally zero simoleons after buying land, do they start relatively poor, or whatever the middle income would give them, or do they start rich? Again, it would be nice for storytelling!

I remember the reason they initially ditched rabbit holes and chose to do the worlds in a close neighborhood manner, they said that to prevent lots being devoid of life because sims would just be literally anywhere else in the world (which was undestandably a problem in The Sims 3), they closed off all the lots in order for more sims, from all over the world(s) to spawn and make lots more lived in. This ended up creating a whole new issue though, with sims from literally every corner of the globe trotting about every single neighborhood (looking at you, Judith Ward) completely breaking the immersion of being in a specific, highly stylized neighborhood. This also ended up creating another, problably more severe, problem: simmers don't want to go through the loading screen to get to the lot that's literally next to them. To "patch" this problem, they made phones and computers have a myriad of automatic functions, which would normally be locked behind a specific lot, a gameplay item or an interaction. So, essentially: they locked every lot behind a loading screen which people don't want to experience, they gave us a reason to do everything from home without needing to make new items, lot types or animations and made sure no world is fully immersive because everyone from every single world will spawn there too.

Not just cars, but different modes of transportation. I loved traveling using the futuristic vehicles from Into the Future. The hoverboard is my prefered mode of conveyance because it's good on road and off road. Traveling at night in Egypt in World Adventurses is very cinematic. You can positition the camera with all kinds of angles and travel along with them. Boats across the water were wonderful, too.

You’re so right about the individuality thing. I have sims that hate dancing, but you leave them alone with a stereo, they randomly start dancing and then they get in a bad mood. But like WHY are they dancing? If it’s something they dislike, shouldn’t they do it only if we specifically make them do it? A bit like real life, we only do things we dislike if we don’t have much choice. I wonder if they made it this way because of activities like cooking, that even if they don’t like it, they kind of have to cook… but again, they still don’t have to cook, they can just grab a quick meal or order a delivery. You know, just like in real life. I always hope they will fix this for the sims 4, but for the sims 5 this is absolutely necessary. Likes and dislike should affect the sim’s behavior, not just their mood.

Honestly, when it comes to artstyle, I think the better pick would be the one from The Sims Medieval- it basically The Sims 3 with filter slapped on it, but the sims actually look good, they're stylized but also realistic, the aging and details on the skin looks just amazing. But, maybe I'm biased, because I love this game.

I never played Sims Medieval but I just played Sims 2 last night and those Sims do not look realistic with their huge eyes and blocky features. Don't even get me started on the pig tails lol For me, S4 has the best looking Sims. You can actually make them look like real life people. I don't like the pudding faces of S3.

Buydebug Triggers (position indicator, quick time event, rabbit hole (which could be used along transmorquifer), time trigger, gate controller, animation objects, npc interactor feature, teleport with changeable animations) 2. Tool to import obj and fbx and texture them to create meshes 3. Painting Tool 4. Open Radio/Sounds Structure used for debug 5. Interaction entry cloner bundle to lower the use of coding, built-in game cheat. With it you can replace interaction with whatever you like from resources. 9. Recipe making - basically assigning crafting positions, then from resources can be changed to add moodlet, change need, change fame, change aspiration points, add career points 10. Color slider, abbility to import custom textures in tga file Next games will be GI based games...It will have artifical program to reprogram games.

I agree completely! I was always so confused when the sims 4 came out with the clay like style… I do like it now especially with Some CC to give it a bit more pizzazz but holy cow does the sims 4 not look like it’s actually part of the series when compared… there is something so glaringly weird and wrong about the sims 4 art style that I just can’t put a finger on… maybe it’s gameplay too but damn the sims 4 is just the weird cousin in the sims franchise.

Very good points. The big freedom that The Sims 4 offers just doesn't work properly. The constant phone calls and unannounced visits from complete strangers also annoy the hell out of me. What I would like to see in The Sims 5 is some kind of public transport. And it would be nice to see the new worlds better connected in the later life cycle of the game. For example, by creating incentives to travel to the other worlds. Not just when you're on holiday.

I love creating sims so I like having access to all clothes cause it would get really boring if I just had the same clothes every time I make a sim. That’s why a normal mode would be great. You don’t get access to everything in build/buy, CAS, cheats etc. I love creating my own stories in the sims. I like the dollhouse aspect but I would also play normal mode for the challenge.

I'm so glad someone has finally mentioned moodlets! The emotion system is the root of the main problem with TS4 for me, which is the incredibly shallow personalities. I have to say I personally wouldn't like having to go to different stores to buy certain clothes. If we're going to get clothing stores back, I want to be able to get all clothes from the same store.

I also wouldn't want to have to pay for clothes. Some people like to just make Sims, just like some people like to just build and can freely do it without monetary restrictions. Maybe it can be a setting like "Off the Grid" for CAS. But it shouldn't be the standard way to play.

They should've been transparent at launch bc even when the sims team is being transparent simmers won't see that cause they didn't be transparent or just yk say it won't be like the sims but they want to make something re ignites the feel of the games. they would obviously still be comparisons but at least it would be far less. I feel bad about the sims team they probably wanted to do this but ea didn't.

Oh my gosh, one of my biggest pet peeves with ts4 is the sleeping AI. If I’m away from my home lot and come back at say 3am why is the ENTIRE family awake acting like everything’s normal. Definitely makes me never wanna leave the home lot even more

Yes, open neighborhoods are a good idea, but I think we can still have cars. They can be used like portals when you go to other worlds or other neighborhoods. And they also need more venues, such as movie theaters, concert venues, and athletic venues. Some of them can be rabbit holes, but if I see another bar, I would be sick.

Honestly I like what you said about how things shouldn't be pack exclusive. I hated it when people were upset about apartments in eco living and snow in snowy escape, like it's not taking anything away from the previous packs! There's no reason an item or activity should be locked behind only one specific pack, it makes no sense to have like one washing machine across the whole game (of this is just a smaller example and not as bad as some other items). It'd give them more creativity and be better for players who maybe want 1 thing that's in a specific pack but not everything else that comes with it and then they'd have the chance to get said thing in another pack where it might appear.

I think this is why the packs seem disconnected despite having some pack crossover features. When I saw ppl complain about one University hairstyle or the calendar being added to base game, I knew the packs wouldn't go as deep as most ppl want. There was no chance of High School Years getting a club system when we have Get Together cause, 9 out of 10, the ppl complaining about it not being in the pack would complain about it if it were. Some features should be treated the way furniture is by having features relating to a certain genre also be repackaged into a new style for that pack. For example, the Vintage Glamour vanity could have gotten more designs for Get Famous or High School Years. Snowy Escape could have gotten a small and large drying rack and more modern clothesline since air drying laundry seems common in Asia. City Living could have had top loading washer/dryers with one version you have to pay to use and one that you don't along with new and crappy swatches. A laundromat lot trait too.

When it comes to lot traits and lot challenges for the Sims 5, I want them to give an option so those would be randomized everyday without the player knowing. Would be lots of surprises and would spice up the gameplay. And more random events like neighborhood stories or action plans idea from Eco Lifestyle.

There's nothing wrong with doing lots of research and trying to understand what you may have, infact it's encouraged! You know yourself better than anyone :) but it becomes a problem when people go "yep! This is what I have" and then they run around telling everyone that, or using as excuse for certain behavior. (Again, NOT talking about this person here 😅 ) but that's why there's so much misinformation out there to begin with. I understand it's not easy for everyone to get an official diagnoses, but the person should make a plan to talk to a professional at SOME POINT and get their opinon just to be sure... I used to be much more supportive of self diagnoses until I began studying for my psychology degree and learned that there is a damn good reason professional diagnoses are used 😂 in short, it's pretty hard to diagnose a mental disorder. There's SO many and lots of them have many overlapping symptoms. Some are specified by the person's history or their families while others can pop up out of nowhere for no reason! That's why it usually takes multiple sessions for a diagnoses to be made, there's alot of ground to cover...but again, that's why doing your own research and trying to narrow it down is actually a really great thing. Cause sometimes the client will be spot on and treatment can begin sooner - but of course sometimes people are wrong and they learn it's something else or a combination of things :) Edit: I actually read the op comment wrong, so you can just ignore the parts where I mentioned them 😂

they could make each world have a business district for jobs and hanging out and a few residential districts like one is a suburb, another is a trailer park, another is a mansion filled high class area, and you only have to load between each area and meet the residents on their own zone or the central one. also, being able to choose how much money you start with, like, choosing if the family is low, mid or high class, which determines how much money they start with. expansions should only be supernatural; a map with a completely different culture, like if the main game is a suburb/city in cali, this expansion could be the midwest, forest areas, farms or things of the like. the rest belongs in free updates

They are still updating Sims 4 stuff that SHOULD have been base game but EA is cash-grabby so they always have this brilliant idea to let you buy realistic relationships with "Growing together". It's like someone in the EA headquaters thought "hey, why release a complete game when we could force people to pay us money if they want it a decent experience!"

I agree with most of the things except the concept of "a normal mode" the sims does have a normal mode 😅 thats the "sandbox mode" you are referring to, the player has to choose to enable cheats. If anything you start out in normal mode and once you enter "testingcheats true" you have put the game into sandbox mode. Just don't turn on cheats? 😂 (Also rags to riches doesnt really count as normal because that still requires cheats). you can totally build a home with everything a sim needs to function and bare decor/ cheap items and have 2-3 thousand Simoleons to play with. Meaning you have to get a job and work up for better items and decor. If you want less money, just buy a few more key items or get better versions of the ones you already have. It's just about self control 😂 it's up to you to refrain from activating the sandbox mode lol

I think a lot of simmers hoped the wedding pack would have initiated this at least when it came to the wedding gowns etc, that the shop did not just take you into CAS to pick any random free dress….So boring. They also should stop the false advertisement in trailers, we wouldn’t be as disappointed later 😂. I personally can’t believe people were so excited about paying $5 for a non functioning light switch/toothbrush/toilet paper roll (that could already be switched to either direction btw). I feel bad for console players being left out cc wise but if it makes them feel any better it takes my PC at minimum 30minutes and 5+ restarts of EA app to even initiate game launch, and takes multiple real minutes to process one sim minute in game…and that’s with no cc/mods 😢 Since Being forced to EA app my game completely resets and all save files etc are deleted every single time the game is closed/restarted, no extras downloaded, and I open the game to a start menu that shows every single add on ever purchased as if it is the first time I’ve ever launched the game. I’ve played sims 4 since release in 2014 and it states that in the EA app so all around they just need to do better with sims 4 before they release a sims 5!

Talking about the Sims having a routine, the Sims 4 does have it limited, which shows that the Sims team could add more activities that the Sims do, for example, if you go and visit a household you have never played, the parents have their jobs they go to, and the children might be away at school depending when you go visit their house, also if a sim is in a hangout group, they will go at the regular time to meet up, also if you send your sim that doesn't belong to a hangout group, to a place where a group gathers, the club members will show up at the time the group usually gather, so there is some routine that the sims do, my guess is you would have to have City Living to notice it, but it does show that the Sims in Sims 4'do have a bit of a routine, but like most things they put in the game, it's like they did the bare minimum when it comes to the things the sims do in their routines, one thing I did notice, and I don't know if it's a glitch or just lazy programming is when you ask a club member about the club leader and they say they haven't met them, when previously, in the same save file, they went to the club gathering and talked with them, so how come they forgot that they know who their own club's leader is? It just doesn't make sense. A sim should at least have an acquaintance with the other members of their club and not say that they haven't met them when they clearly have met them.

I am aware that there is a completely empty neighbourhood in Sims 4 and yet that still feels ...small. One of my favourite Maps in Sims 3 was the one from the Animal/ Horse pack- it had a town center but so much space to build houses! I spent so much time building homes for my household and their neighours~ If they let us freely place lots again that would be awesome.

YES to vibrant open neighborhoods. Actually smart sims with AI that routes them realistically, that allows them to establish a regular routine (if you want), that allows them to develop complex and sometimes asymmetrical relationships like people do. Age specific personalities and aspirations that have consequential effects. The "fury/furious" system. The attraction system. All mandatory upon base game release imo.

I saw some Cc where you can open a bank account in a bank with bank tellers and account managers, why didn't EA think of this? I would love a mall where you have different retailers like hair salons, sneaker stores, electronics etc. I would love all the jobs to have open world status, not just a few select jobs. Personality, you hit the nail on the head with that one! The list goes on but these would be my main.

I'm playing Sims 3 for the first time today, and already I'm seeing things that are just so much better! CAS is better, there's a newspaper and stuff already in the fridge! There's people out and about on swings and having picnics. I joined a career and already know a person! But the one thing that is undeniably better in the Sims 4 is building. The mechanics are just so much smoother, movement is better, and I far and away prefer the textures! No wonder I spend 80% of my time on the Sims 4 building, it's the best game I've played so far for building! If anyone has anything better though, please let me know! But honestly, I'm happy now to have Sims 3 for gameplay, but will never knock Sims 4's build mode!

i think the sims 4 is better for CAS. the sliders are annoying and the clothes are kinda ugly (not to mention there filters are awful and the window is so small); but I can agree that the sims 3's gameplay is great. I still prefer the sims 4 though but I respect your opinion.

@@RosieUV Clothes are definitely ugly, but I only have base game, so didn't want to comment too soon in case I find out that the DLC clothes are beautiful 😂 I much prefer the sliders, I think it's much easier to make more realistic (comparatively) looking people, whereas with Sims 4, I always feel like something is just a bit off. Although Sims 3 Sims definitely look like potato's, facial proportions seem much better. I do still play the Sims 4 more (after but a week), mainly because it's easier on the eye 😂

@@HeidiSholl the DLC clothes are better, but not as good as some of the stuff you can get in sims 4 DLC (get together and discover university have some great clothing). Maybe i'm just biased because the clothes in the sims 3 are a bit dated.

I hate that in Sims 4 when the original townies die the game fills the house with families of 1 adult and 7 children. If I want to meet a man or break up a couple I literally have to make them in CAS :@ Its too much work

I just want more game to my, you know, GAME. Especially with the introduction of kits, it has practically become Barbie dress up and dream house. I don’t play the Sims to use cas or build. In fact my homes are spartan and I use the same outfits on practically every new sim, not even bothering to go into cas to redress their kids half the time. Those things are nice and can certainly add to the experience, but I bought a life simulator, not a lego kit

all i'm asking for are open worlds, sims that don't take themselves seriously, like in sims 2, cars, hotels, lots of gameplay, lots of vacation worlds, lots of active professions, a real generation in the family, real schools with the yellow bus, real leisure; I want it to be fun and above all complete packs and expansions and not pieces divided into 4 kits, for the moment I don't know yet if I will continue with the sims 5. I would like the comfort level on beds to be adjustable. Some beds I don't use because they are too comfortable and the Sims will only sleep for 4 hours or so, while the uncomfortable ones have their own problems. Also, the kid beds need an option to turn off monsters. Plus... more swatches for all :)

I would love to see more storyline`s an choices, and out comes. Memories, and interactions in general, and if there is a fire thr firedepartment shows up, you get robed either they get away or the police shows up. When they go to work you go to work wit interactions at work. Also I love the Cheats lol I would like to keep the don't age but with the opportunity to turn it off at some point the same with getting pregnant. Oh and what's with only allowing so many outfits????? If we can buy it then we should beable to. And defently bring back going in to shop's an shoping and not for the same pieces everything.

Idk if this is a popular opinion. But I want each save to be based in 1 world like in Sims 2 & 3 with smaller add-on worlds like downtown and university. All the worlds in one save really slows down the game and the Sims team have to make a lot of concessions to get the game to run smoothly. I think by separating them we can have much more detail and more sims living in the world.

I would like to live with sims that I don’t control. Say I got a female sims been working with her since birth, she gets married to a man with a dog. I just want to play the game where they man and dog do their thing and I have to deal with their interactions with my sim. For example, I can create a Criminal Sim with an active Criminal Career trying to become a mob boss, and then create a Detective Sim to solve his crimes and put him behind bars. I want gameplay with genealogy features, adding a little more sims in a home, with more family relationships and that we can add family relations or link/bind families together in CAS or in the world/town menu for our stories ( uncle/aunt/cousin/nephew or step-mother/step brother, and so on etc), having more ages range ( pre-teen, teen, late teen, young adult ,adult, mature adult (idk how to phrase it lol), young senior, senior, late senior XD) or some system just to give an age to the current age for the player even if to set a number manualy. With more familial interactions. I want the possibility for my sims to go to the movies with a real theater /cinema as a community lot and the return of cars too, and motorbikes. I would like an open World too but well optimized. And the idea of a future like « sims 3 into the future » it was cool but in parallel with a medieval era to travel back in time too and having the possibility to create ancestors and descendents. I want the possibility to disabled some boring (or not) features like the celebrations moodlets when sims miss the goals of a said celebration. I want well done rounded walls system. And I want a game more adult oriented with humour like before. Yep i know i’m asking to much XD

On the subject of open worlds I don’t see why they can’t have it in the game because in sims 4 they can walk to the end of the street in world before we get hit by a loading screen, I’d rather see my sims walk/drive/cycle from one area in the world to another & lose the stupid loading screen
