She’s ok, I guess. Not good enough for movies or tv, but she’s fine for a sketch show full of nobodies. When people end up on SNL for decades, it’s because they aren’t funny enough for a solo career, aren’t good enough actors to be on a show or movie, and don’t have the popularity or talent to make it anywhere else in the comedy industry. Cecily is a perfect example of that. Maybe she’ll get a gig doing a shitty commercial here or there, or have a cameo on a shitty Netflix show like “Is It Cake”, but that’s all the farther her talents would ever take her. Being on SNL for 15+ years is a sure sign that Hollywood has zero interest in you. The SNL cast has been full of unwanted “comedians” for many years now. 80% of the cast couldn’t sell out a comedy show in a 200 seat venue. It’s where comedians with no other options go to try to make a name for themselves, and end up being stuck for years because they are never offered anything else. Cast members who have no fans outside of the SNL audience. Cecily is no exception. She’s been a long standing cast member because her lack of talent is keeping her there. Of the thousands of shows and movies that cast tens of thousands of actresses, none of them thought Cecily was good enough for a role. She’s just another bottom tier talent like the rest of the SNL cast. Not funny enough to do comedy, not talented enough to act, but just enough comedic acting to do dumb skits once a week
